DANGERMAN
I came very close to posting the Nina Simone version of that. It's incredible how odd and threatening that song still sounds, especially from me wearing suits. Simone's version kind of tells it from the womans perspective, both are brilliant though I am going to post that song I was umming and arring about before. Having read around about its origins it's not as full on as I'd believed. Also for some reason, that it comes from an artist I've heard of rather than some random on youtube makes it slightly easier for some reason <param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWEhNppy0to?fs=1&hl=en_GB">
Craymen Edge
The dark haired guitarist in The Animals video looks properly demented towards the end. Edit: here...

Hendo
With all the millions of songs created, I'm surprised this has slowed down so quick. Anyway.... <param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWEhNppy0to?fs=1&hl=en_GB"> Very slow and dark, quite liked it. What's that bit right at the end? Is it meant to be a freaky surprise bit of the song or the next track spilled onto it? Mine is yet again inspired by Rock Band 3. This is what I automatically think of when people mention bending strings: Eric Clapton - Wonderful Tonight (Live) <param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEI-DyXGfWY?fs=1&hl=en_GB">
Jimboxy
Nice choice dude, ol' slow hands with the bending and shit. I always think i should listen to more Eric Clapton, but never do. I'm going for a film score to mix it up a bit (Film Score Thursday?) Ennio Morricone - Ecstasy of Gold <param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNGe7iK1O-4?fs=1&hl=en_US">

Hendo
Just the two of us, building castles in the skyyyyyyyyyyyy. *EDIT* Too late Ben. Loved that Jim, great choice. DANGERMAN
Still sounds really crisp, I'm assuming it's been remastered and all that, but still! Very cool track, not much more you need to say. I think If I knocked about in places with purple wallpaper, bongs, and afros then I'd listen to it more Heard this the other day, I'd forgot it even existed let alone that it might be my favourite REM song <param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhSf262BgOk?fs=1&hl=en_GB">
Craymen Edge
That's really good, I don't think I know that one very well. I like REM a lot, I've seen them on the telly quite a few times and they seem great live, Stipe's got a great voice. Hendo
Assuming that it's played two-handed tapping like the picture, that's amazing. Otherwise I would swear it's a guitar and bass duo, or one person multitracked. That's the only kind of tapping I have respect for, where you actually make it melodic and not just high speed fret wankery. I'll take this in a similar kind of "beautiful music, but played in an unusual way" kind of thing with Pat Metheny playing a solo cover of "Don't Know Why" by Norah Jones. <param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BntNRMiI4PQ?fs=1&hl=en_GB">

There's a couple of videos of him doing game tunes, but little of his original work, otherwise I would have posted one of him playing. edit: a short one. Yeah, it's just him tapping on his rather gorgeous looking 11-string bass, and the occasional effects peddle.
Sly Reflex
Pat Metheny playing a solo cover of "Don't Know Why" First of all, the bass on that guitar is insanely low. I thought he was been accompanied for some of it. Secondly, It reminded me of the music that plays in Animal Crossing. Thirdly, I actually liked it, I was ready to tear it to shreds, but it made me happy inside. Today I saw a really fat woman trundling up and down the street. She was probably looking for some food of something, you know what these grossly overweight people are like. The only problem is, since seeing her, I can't get this song out of my head. I'd like to think it was because she was built like an Amazon, although she resembled the brick house more accurately.

Jimboxy
I never knew that was by the Commodores, I always thought it was the band with the star shaped sunglasses, my bad. Craymen Edge
The best part of that was the luxurious 'tache in those photos, apart from that it was a bit cheesy for my liking. Secondly, It reminded me of the music that plays in Animal Crossing. Thirdly, I actually liked it, I was ready to tear it to shreds, but it made me happy inside. Check his guitar again, not only is it in a bizarre tuning, the three lowest strings are insanely thick so pretty much bass strings and what should be the B string is another bass string. I think low to high it's tuned ADGCEA Nick Drake - River Man Brilliant choice. Probably my favourite of his, fighting alongside Pink Moon. When the strings come in it just sounds like either absolute heaven or you've sunk down to hell. I was gonna pick something much more upbeat and tuneful today but I remembered that I was listening to the first Audioslave album last night and I'd forgotten how good it was. And this is notable because the first 50 seconds make me think of an irate tiger prowling round a cage while he's being teased by his captors and then the riff kicks in and he bursts it open and it all goes tits up. What can I say? I was tired in work. Craymen Edge
Audioslave - "Cochise" I love that song, it's awesome. And it's precisely for that tension that builds in the opening 50 or so seconds before that amazing riff kicks in. I was digging through my enormous crate of too many CDs last night looking for something else, when I stumbled upon The Contino Sessions. I'd completely forgotten about this. Hendo
I'll take that if no-one else is bothered. Great track off a great album, bit of an odd performance from Iggy Pop, something about it doesn't sit right with me. I could've sworn I've already posted this track, but there we go. It came on the radio in GTA IV when I was in a 4x4 parked on a hill overlooking part of the city when the sun was setting. Great moment Marvin Gaye - Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler) <param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tOpwgrqshU?fs=1&hl=en_GB">
DANGERMAN
It was on my list for today Enjoyed Craymans, listened to it again before listening to Hendo's, which sort of changed the tone of that. I really like that Marvin Gaye song, it's been a while since I've heard it, so it through me that A Perfect Circles cover isn't even close to sounding the same. His version is maybe a little too quiet though, really nice and really well performed, but I dont think it's ever held my attention all the way through Whoever owns this wont let me embed the youtube video, which might explain why no one else has posted any Silversun Pickups despite half the forum loving them. Not their best song, but it's a great video
Jimboxy
I can't actually watch that at work, but if its Silversun pickups, I've heard it and it is most likely excellent. Mine is a band that I've always ignored as i thought they were "a bit like Fallout Boy", turns out they're really rather good.
