David Posted February 9, 2009 Share Posted February 9, 2009 We were pretty sure that Dead Rising 2 video was real on Friday, now we're positive with Capcom officially announcing the game coming to PC, PS3 and 360. Capcom says that Dead Rising 2 will take the franchise to a "new level of zombie-killing fun with tens of thousands of zombies" and a chance to kill them in fun ways in the gambling paradise of Fortune City. Dead Rising 2 is set several years after the zombie invasion of Willamette, Colorado. Unfortunately, Capcom tells us, that zombie virus was not contained at the end of the first game and spread unchecked throughout the U.S. Dead Rising 2 depicts a country where zombie outbreaks continue to strike. As we had heard long ago, Dead Rising 2 is being developed in partnership with Canadian developer Blue Castle Games as well as a number of members from the original Dead Rising team, including Keiji Inafune, who as the game's Producer will play an active role in the project. The announcement promises that further details concerning the story and gameplay of Dead Rising 2 will be made available shortly. Link Fuck yes! I dunno, they took the time limit out of Pikmin 2 and it made the game much better. I like the idea of the time limit in the first one but I can never be bothered to carry on once I know I've fucked it up. I think it was sarcasm It wasn't. I really like it. Dead Rising is a survival game, and the fact that you can fuck it up I really like. Also, it makes it impossible to do everything in one playthrough. I would support making the game easier and the time limits less harsh though - I swear Dead Rising was practically impossible to complete without the small chainsaw. Capcom have just announced that Dead Rising 2 will now in fact ship on September 24th in Europe and Australia.No reason was given for the one-week advancement of the European release date. Who knows... Maybe they wanted to release it closer to Halo: Reach? Maybe they wanted to ship it in Q3 for their financials? Maybe they wanted to let me use the 28 days later pun, knowing full well that the release date would be pushed forward? Either way, Dead Rising 2 is coming to Europe and Australia on September 24th, although the North American and Japanese release dates remain the same - September 28th and September 30th respectively.
