Mass Effect new DLC 20 years after original release

X360A

It appears that like the first DLC, there will be one main mission, but as they previously reported, the content will be set in a gambling/casino/fight club, which is apparently called "Pinnacle Station" and will feature various combat scenarios.

Perhaps these new achievements will come with an announcement soon. Or better yet, the content itself. Check back here at x360a and we'll surely post again when we know more.

Undisputed 50

Complete Ahern's survival mission

New Sheriff in Town 50

Take first place in any combat scenario on Pinnacle Station

Best of the Best 50

Take first place in 12 combat scenarios on Pinnacle Station

Combat scenarios? I want a proper mission, better than the last one too. Still, wait to judge till playtime..

Firstly, I remember getting some glitching in the characters, sometimes the eyes would stay partially shut and when the did blink their eyelids would stretch to their cheeks, it was actually quite scary.

I like driving the Mako, thats because I have my own game where on a straight I would start fishtailing it and the jump to try to do a 360 in the air.. I only managed it once. The turret on the thing is fucking useless for shooting up or down on wonky terrain.

Even with those querks its still the best game this gen in my flawless oppinion.

And ooooh, some lovely DLC.

Another night spent on this, and I think I saved myself from giving up on it. I chose to go to a planet where it was all frozen up and there were sinister goings on at Peak 15. After trying to find that blue bitch and giver her a good hiding I though, "Fuck this, I'm fed up of pretending to be a bellboy with all this elevator riding shenanigans, I'm off somewhere else.". After spending about 20 minute finding my way back to the ship, I went to another planet that had a load of problems. It's ok though, because these problems were easily sorted by shooting them in the face until they decided that being a problem when Sly Reflex is around is just booking them a one way ticket to a hard arse raping. I had to do this world on my own, as the squad mechanic decided it was going to take it's ball home by doing fuck all. It's ok though, I just stuck to pistoling those dirty mothers in the testes. Once the problems had all be solved and I had wrapped everything up Scooby Doo style. Now to get back to ice world.

Started to click then?

The shooting bits and exploring, yes. The Mako, the elevators and the go speak to A, go speak to B, go speak to A again and convince him to C, then go back to B and collect your reward are really shit. That ice world is really badly designed too, the hotlabs area is like walking through one of those mazes that are made from glass and mirrors. Except these are made from ice, identicle rooms and elevators. If I had spent anymore time in there I would have called it quits, but the rest of the game seems fun enough. I might get a guide and do this blue cunt in, because this section is really killing the game for me. I want more shoot, less talk.

yeah. i dunno i just loved the world theyve created, its stories and characters. so i liked the conversations as the scenarios and star trek/star wars/space opera vibe in general really appeal to me. the sheer amount of options in the convos too is appealing. i suppose at the core thats whats great about massively erect for me, you can play the game like captain picard being all diplomatic, patient and moral or play it like a particularly jaded lando calrissian, quick on the trigger and fucking people over for a buck

I have played 23 hours now, and I can say I am enjoying it for the most. The graphics and animation on Wrex are amazing, it is head and shoulders above anything else in the game, it looks so real, like some Jim Henson puppet in my room. So believable. Same goes for the tech lass as well, you can kind of see her face behind the glass of her visor. On another note my girlfriend pointed out that Ashley the dirty racist looks like a fat faced version of Amelle from the Sugababes.

Tonight I finished the quite frankly amazing story, picking my decisions carefully to try and get the best ending. Some of the moral decisions are hard. I struggled to decide who to save when that time came, and I also sat thinking about possible outcome of my actions before chosing. I might have finished the story, but there is no way I am finished with the game overall. There is still stuff I have not seen and still things that I can achieve. To think this cost me just over £7 as well. Bargain. I might even give the DLC a whirl.

Great stuff, Sly. Glad you enjoyed it in the end, you just have to get over the initial hump. Go straight into a second run through with the same character, ignore all the side quests and it'll only take you a couple of hours.

I was talking about this to Badger, it seems that with these type of games you have invest quite a bit of time when compared to other games. Everything else you seem to be grabbed by the face until it's over, whereas these games have to be tolerated for the first few hours because you have to deal with learning a complicated new system when it comes to all the item management.

Me too, the first mission where the baddie fucks over your instructor type guy and it all kicks off. I just wanted to sit and play this game non stop, the next installment is in my top five most anticipated games.

I was also hooked from the start, I was also hooked from the second I heard big Ron's voice at the start of Fallout 3, that's how I rolls though. I think it all depends on the type of gamer you are. With most games you jump in and it's about your mad skills moving you along whereas RPGs tend to be about leveling up a fair bit before you get to a point where your mad skills become a key part of the experience.

I didn't get into the story until the big zombie making plant was introduced. I'm glad I gave it time, it really is a great game. I went back to an old save and got the achievements for finishing the game with Ashley and Kaiden. I think I am looking at doing the bare minimum on the next full play so I can pick up Garrus and Liara and do the same thing. Oddly the Kaiden achievement popped a lot earlier than the Ashley one, so I expect I'm going to have my work cut out getting the Liara achievement to unlock.

I also found one of the funniest glitches I have ever seen last time I played as well. There is a mission that you come across where you board a ship with a brain dead guy on it. When Shepard gets the option to do what he wants, he alternates between looking at his two comrades, only problem is that his eyes do the same thing, but they do it independantly so he looks like a chameleon with the spazzing out eyes. It made me laugh hard. It's made even funnier by the fact that he has a dead serious look on his face too.

The new DLC is out right now.

Pinnacle Station costs 400 MSP (£3.40 / €4.80) and opens the eponymous station as a destination, where 13 combat arena battles await a Spectre-level Shepard. The Xbox listing reckons around two-to-three hours more content is up for grabs.
