<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/LOHQTDPNyf0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Not sure what to say about this game quite yet as I have only put in an hour so far. It's was developed by an indie studio from Russia .... they have Eastern European accents in there dev videos and their game while fun it is broken, so they must be Russian. The gist of God Mode is simple kill the undead by yourself, Co-Op or PvP for XP and gold which in turn unlocks weapons and cosmetic items. The Good Frenetic arcade run and gun shooting. Addictive just one more round gameplay Fun when played with multiple people Narrator is the voice actor of Mother Brain from Captain N the Game Master The Bad Suffers from the "Call of Duty Effect" - Enemy in crosshairs, pull trigger, WTF how are you not fucken dead!!! Take forever to level up and all upgrades cost to much gold. Your basically forced to grind for gold if you want better weapons. The Ugly They list it as a single player and they say there is a campaign ... there is not. You can play by yourself, but God Mode was designed from the ground up as a multiplayer game. Spawn points are always in the middle of a horde of enemies. Then you die again. Overall Atlus and Old School have a very good game on their hands, but it is held back by bad design choices and a overall rushed product. They can fix it with patches and I hope they do, because I want to see God Mode to do good. Overall an enjoyable, but a flawed game.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/R_XIcN33C9M" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> The name brings up fond memories of the late 1980's hit American TV show Airwolf and the Sega arcade game Thunder Blade, but sadly Thunder Wolves does not live up to the standards of those two classics . That's not to say Thunder Wolves is a bad game, well it is a bad game, but not in the sense that it sucks. Confusing I know, but think of Thunder Wolves as a B grade game - cheese, campy and a guilty pleasure. You know you should not like Thunder Wolves, but it just puts a smile on your face. The plot feels like a 1980's buddy action flick. You play as a rookie helicopter pilot for a mercenary organization and your partnered with Max - a smart ass, slightly misogynistic douche bag with a mullet. I'm also pretty sure that he drives a Trans Am and listens to Def Leopard, but the game does not confirm that fact. Both you, your female commander and sometime the baddies takes Max's childish verbal abuse throughout the game. The script is just horribly written and would fit well in a Jason Statham or Stallone flick. The jokes are lame and the dialog between characters seem to take second place to the action. The combat is a weird mix of rails shooting and free roaming. It was like the developer wanted to give players free control over how they complete missions, but decided to force you down a predetermined path. A lot of the gameplay feels a lot like a 3D version of EA's Strike franchise and you even complete very similar task to those in the Strike games. The thing that truly holds Thunder Wolves back is the shitty camera system. Which will zoom in for an Resi style over the shoulder viewpoint, which is great for clearing the battlefield in combat while hovering, a standard pulled back behind the helicopter and a under the helicopter looking up viewpoint ............... which is great for navigating terrain Like many other B-grade games - Earth Defense Force, OneChanbara and Deadly Premonition, Thunder Wolves grows on you and you end up liking it more then it really deserves.

I really loved Sacred and Sacred 2: Fallen Angels, so I’m not sure why I first passed on Citadel. But I finally picked up a digital copy of the game on Steam the other day and I am loving every minute of this campy arcade hack n’slash. The story is very Saturday morning cartoonish. The Seraphim have laid down their weapons and have taken up a peaceful life of piety living in the Citadel. Ashen empire has used an Orc-like race called the Grimmoc to wipe out the Seraphim, so It up to you and your friends (if you play three player co-op) to save the land of Ancaria. Sacred Citadel is a prequel to the upcoming Sacred 3. The event in Citadel will build up to the story of Sacred 3. You pick from one of four classes – Safiri warrior, Ancarian ranger, Khukuri shaman and the Seraphim mage. Sadly The Temple Guardian from Sacred 2: Fallen Angel is not one of the classes in Citadel, but I will live. Mounts also make a return, which mixes up combat a bit. Enemies use them in battle and you knock them off to steal them à la Golden Axe. Loot drops range from potion, gold, armor and weapons. You can only carry three of each potion – Health, Rage and Power. You also have a limit backpack and can only carry one armor set and three weapons – main, secondary and power. If you want to swap out you weapons to something you found earlier in the game just visit the blacksmith in town. There is currently one piece of DLC available called Jungle Hunt it adds some more levels and story. Hopefully Deep Sliver has plans for more DLC. The map look like it can hold an act six, seven and eight. The visuals and audio are very well done. I would highly recommend this to fans of 2D hack n’ slash games and Sacred fans. 9/10

As far as I'm aware this is only on PS3, which might be because it's a free to play game, I'm not sure if XBLA has any and is set up to do it. Basically it's Tekken, whatever the last one was probably. It looks really nice, seems to play fairly well (if you like Tekken) and has quite a few characters. The free to play model for it comes from the play modes, to play the arcade mode you need a red 'Arcade' coin, to play online you need a blue 'Battle' coin, you get a set amount to start with but spend one every time you play one of those modes. If you use an Arcade coin it's an hour before it refills (with a maximum of 2 being able to be stored), battle coins (for both player and ranked online matchers) refill one every 30 minutes, and a maximum of 5 can be stored There's also Premium Tickets which used in either mode, I'm not entirely sure how you get these back other than to win when you spend one, perhaps the game rewards you with them or they're gifted at some point. Finally there's Premium Coins, they're essentially the same as Premium Tickets, only they are bought with real money from PSN (£0.79 for 4 coins, £1.59 for 10 and £3.99 for 30) There's 8 characters available from the off but there's at least one hidden in a gift box that needs gift points to unlock, currently I don't have enough to do this but you earn more by fighting. You also level up characters through fighting, this requires skill points (earned when you reach a new level) and gold, which you earn through fighting. If you're focussing on a single character then you probably won't have less cold than skill points, but if you want to level every one up then you're going to need to fight a lot The online matches I had worked fine, there's limits on the player matches though, you can't just have a 1vs1 best of 3, instead you're setting up a lobby with a number of players waiting to fight, with the lowest win rate being best of 5. It's not necessarily how I'd play a fighter online, but then I don't often, and at least the extra rounds mean you're not burning through coins quite so fast

Either I'm blind or at least 3 of you are lazy bastards. So, it's Hitman through and through and I'm happy not to have found the criticisms accurate at all. The amount of content and replayability is thrown into your face immediately and the controls are introduced in a fine way. The levels so far have been varied and each one looks real pretty. Even when there's 100's of people walking around. I was concerned the pedestrians would resemble a Fifa crowd (100 of them blow their nose, then the other 100 all bend down and tie their laces) but they're mostly unique as far as I can tell. The music is great, as Hitman's usually are and the cinematics are nice to look at. So I really like it.. Oh and there's a lot of Easter Eggs.

Writing this while downloading the free Doors pack, so have only made my band so far. Most notable thing is it's the first time the intro isn't CG but is real people playing real instruments, the song being Break On Through by The Doors, looks good, sounds good, gets you pumped to play it. The keyboard seems really good quality and that midi-out may come in very handy in the future. The main thing for me is using this to learn how to play keys properly which I'm sure will make me progress better than I have before, randomly stabbing at keys, only playing one note at a time and hoping for the best. I will be sticking to keys and pro mode only for quite a while. I'll be taking this to a mate's later on, might as well take the 360 as well due to all the tracks in my collection. Quick question, how do you import RB and RB2 tracks? I see a "redeem code" option but no "import" option.

More or less the same gameplay as the first but I only played the demo of that. Visually, though, it is pretty different as it's gone for a more cel-shaded look which really suits it, seeing as it's come from a comic book graphic novel. It's pretty grim and gory at times and Mike Patton is back on full, deranged extreme metal vocal style. Also, a brilliant way to open the game with a bang.

Picked this up today £35 at tesco, read some good things about this, will post impressions tomorrow. No one else got this?? The last game was awesome, and im a big fan of the psp games so hopefully this will be just as good.

Started playing this last night, only spent a couple of hours on it, but it is fantastic. I think in the two hours i was on, maybe 45 mins was actual playing, but i don't care i love what Kojima does. Its full of nods and references to the older, but new in time line games, subtle things like to origins of snakes bandanna, a fantastic credit sequence that is a complete James Bond rip off. It's taken me a while to get into the MGS mindset, the controls don't feel quite right, but they do feel like Metal Gear if that makes sense. It has aged pretty well as well, the graphics feel like a ps2 game, but i very good one, i imagine it would look great played on a standard def telly. Also kudos on the sound as well. I'll post something more in-depth and less rambly once i've played some more.

So, who has bought it then? I'm downloading the demo so that I can play it tonight. I have my MS Points at the ready (they arrived today, a sign?), although I'm not that keen on shelling out 1200 on an Arcade game. But, going by Eurogamer's 10/10 review, I think I may have to.

I've put a couple hours into GRID today, and it's very good indeed. It's graphically the best racer I've played, and it all runs super smooth even with multiple cars and crashes going on at the same time. The handling takes a short while to adjust to, but now I feel very confident in chucking my car into a corner and flooring it out of the bend. The drift events which were my least favourite part of the demo are actually very good. By default the traction control is set to on, turning this off made the car nice and slippy, ideal for drfiting and getting decent multipliers! The presentation is spot on, and everything is laid out nicely. As you progress through the World Tour, you get sponsors. These sponsors can help you get extra points for achieving certain criteria in a race, providing you are wearing their decals on your motor. Earning money allows you to buy more cars and enter events. You also earn reputation for completing events. The three main area's are US, Europe, and Japan, each focusing on a different style of racing. There is also the Le Mans 24hr which instead of taking a whole day to finish (Gran Turismo 4, I'm looking at you and your 24hr Nurbugring race), it takes 24 minutes. It takes you through the day-night cycle throughout. There are even Formula 3000 cars in here, which are super fast and handle brilliantly. If the F3000 part of GRID is a taste of what to expect from the forthcoming Formula One game from Codemasters, then it's going to be something special. From what I have played so far, the racing is intense and action packed, keeping you on your toes. The AI seems excellent, you will see cars ahead of you spinning out after they have misjudged a corner for example, and they generally put up a good fight. It's not a sim, so don't go getting this if you want this to be the next Forza because it isn't, and isn't trying to be. It's more in the vein of PGR4, although it isn't as arcadey as that. Try it with all the assists off though, and you are in for a huge challenge. If you like racers, it's pretty much an essential purchase.

I bought it today! it's excellent, very short and ends all of a sudden... but its great. looks fantastic and plays really well, although there's not really anything more than shooting and dodging. about 12 stages which can be completed in about 10 minutes, so its really one for the SHMUP/high score people I'm loving it, but i think if you didn't know what you were in for you may come away dissapointed

I'm such a noob at times. I've never played more than a few minutes of Doom 3 before as it just past me by. No idea why I never got it at the time: I had an Xbox, I was quite into shooters at the time and I like monsters. Can't really figure out why I wasn't there. Maybe it was because it had some negative reception, I dunno. Anyway, I'm playing it now and I'm quite surprised how much I'm enjoying it. All it is is a ghost train with monsters you shoot at and it overuses the 'spawn enemies behind you' trick a bit to often as I've learned to pretty much always check my 6 (maybe that's the point?) but I've3 been yelping and laughing my way through, always being slightly lost, so it's not like it isn't fun. Though I do wish the weapons had more kick to them, like I just wish it felt a bit better killing things. On this collection Doom and Doom 2 are also there, and I've also never played Doom... I got Doom 2 on sale on XBLA and played it a bit. I actually really enjoyed my brief time with it and I'm liking Doom even more. That's a game that's still fun to play. The movement feels like you're coasting and sometimes there are loads of enemies and weaving about while shooting that hellishly satisfying shotgun is some top gaming. I think that's what annoys about Doom 3 a little; I wish the shooting felt as good as that. So yeah, it's 2013 and I think I may have just properly discovered Doom. Dunno if you've heard but it's good.

Been playing this for a bit. Playing using the same 3 characters as the Giant Bomb video - the knight, twins and monk. I'm not sure as the usefulness of the twins as yet but the knight's shield is good and the monk's telekinesis seems invaluable. I'm not convinced with the control feel - it just feels a bit sticky, a bit too heavy. It looks fantastic and it's Ron Gilbert and Double Fine so the writing is top notch. The trial is pretty short, then I unlocked the full game and got some kind of almost game-breaking bug where the camera wouldn't follow my character but I also couldn't change my character. I'm not sure how I got out of it but I ended up saving and quitting a few times. I'm currently stuck on a puzzle that is most likely staring me in the face but I have a minecart to deliver and no sign of what should go in it.

I spent a bit of time playing this last night and was quite impressed with what they've done. Considering I didn't think it was going to work at all, it was a nice surprise. The only game mode available in the beta is Favour of the Gods, both team and ffa flavours. You have to run around the arena, gain favour at each of the altars dotted around and defend your captured altars from the enemy team. It only takes about 5-10 seconds (depending on whether it is currently captured or not) so the altars can switch sides frequently. Each altar you capture gains your team "Favour" and it's these points that allow you to win the match, around 8000 for the team game. There's no explanation of how the game works so most players are treating it like a standard deathmatch and just killing each other over and over. You get points for kills but the lion's share is gained by capturing the altars. Hopefully this will change in time as everyone gets more familiar and it'll make the matches slightly less one-sided. The combat is standard God of War fare with weak and strong attacks, block, dodge and a kick. You have a two special moves at your disposal which are dependent on the weapon you have equipped, a magic spell and a choice of various items. Round that out with a ranged throw, the ability to parry weak attacks and executions and you've got something that's fast, responsive and violent. They've included an experience and leveling system which unlocks better armour to improve your stats and grants you points to spend on unlocking or upgrading new abilities. It's worth having a go if you're a PS+ subscriber as it's a bit different to other multiplayer games out there. Should be a fun little distraction when the full game is released.

I remember the glory days of playing Tekken 3 on the PS1, and the not so glory days of playing Tekken 4 and the first tag tournament on PS2, the latter two were average at best so I lost enthusiasm to try 5 or 6 moving instead to soul calibour and Mortal Kombat, however seeing the new tag tournament in the shops brought back memories and I decided to give it another go. I'm very glad I did! It arrived yesterday and I've been playing it non stop since. The first thing I noticed was the sense of real power, the sound vibration and graphics all combined perfectly to convey a sense of power from the characters I haven't felt with other beat 'em ups. There's also a massive list of characters to choose from, mastering them all would take all year. The game is a lot more balanced then previous installments as well, Eddie is no longer a button bash your way to glory character, yes you can button bash him but you wont get too far, the game actually rewards good fighting and learning the characters so you don't get the annoying old scenario where you spend weeks mastering Hwoarang and then some little git comes along and button bashes Eddie, beating you in no time flat. To balance things out further it now also uses a true skill system, you go up belts, from Kyu to Dans which works well for online multiplayer, the true skill means you battle people around your level, however offline it's a bit pointless to start with as until you get into the higher Dans the levels are all about the same, pretty easy. The achievements for the game are also really simple, I got 20/50 in the first couple hours of play without even trying, none of them are hard to get. Arcade mode is so easy no matter what belts you're fighting, you just seem to stroll through until the final stage which is a bit rubbish but the other modes make up for it. Speaking of other modes, it has a fight academy to teach bad players how to get better, but it really just shows the basics unfortunately, it uses combot to teach movement, blocking, simple limb movement, punishers, throw breaks and tag dynamics, the special moves for each character and combos you have to teach yourself in practice mode. It also has a customise section where you can buy and change clothing and items, a bit like soul calibour but without the abilities side of it, and you can equip random and silly things if you want. No story to the game though which is probably it's biggest let down but that's ok because it's just fantastic arcade fun! It's hard to describe just what's so great about this game but the gameplay really is a lot of fun. Overall then it's too easy to begin with and lacks a story mode but that doesn't matter because this game is incredible fun, more fun then I've had from a game in ages and I'd highly recommend it to everyone. 8.5/10 So, I thought I'd start a thread so people could arrange matches and talk about the setups they're using. I'm a Jin player myself, I did start off teaming him up with Eddie but I've switched that to Nina now because they both like each other so they give each other +1 Netsu activation and can do combination tag throws. Item wise I've given Nina a handgun so if I'm in a stand-off position with neither one of us advancing I can just tag and shoot them. I'm currently hammering practise mode to learn Jins 10 hit combo and then move on to Ninas. If anyone fancies a fight let me know!

I'm not too sure what to say about Binary Domain, despite everything it's actually pretty standard stuff. Once the game gets going properly you spend most of your time with a team of 3 people from a choice of 5 (6 later on), and because of the trust mechanic it seems like it's always worth picking the same people. You start the game with Big Bo (big brash black guy, not to be confused with sarky english bloke and serious chinese girl) and through conversations and actions (like destroying lots and lots of robots) I've got really high trust with him, so it was then a case of picking 1 other person who seemed to have the attributes I wanted (I picked the english girl because she's got a shotgun) and developed the trust there. I've got to say though I've not found a massive amount of use for the trust yet. I've been downed a couple of times and they've revived me, that probably wouldn't have happened is they hated me, but in terms of the main voice commands (cover me, retreat, form up, fire) I've barely had to use them to need their trust. Apparently if you have a mic plugged in it'll respond to your mutterings, more so that just the default sayings, stuff like swearing will get them to respond. I might test it at some point but I've really not needed it so far. The trust thing can get a bit annoying, the A.I. aren't quite smart enough not to walk in to your line of fire, you if you've unloading with a machine gun and they decide the safest place for them is right in front of your muzzle then you're going to get moaned at and lose trust. Early on before you know the characters you'll get a lot of questions 'wrong', but eventually you learn to answer in a way they'll want to hear. The problem with that though is that both you and the characters you're talking to understand the subtlety of language, however the game doesn't cater for it. As an example a young girl asked me out at one point, I said yes because saying no seemed harsh, and I thought the game wouldn't let me anyway, but instead everyone disapproved. The other problem with it is that sometimes you miss what you've been asked and annoy everyone by not doing it, or their instructions aren't clear enough ("cover left" when there's no set way to be facing) This all sounds a bit negative so far but I've actually been quite enjoying things. It does mix things up but generally it's cover based shooting, and it works fine, better when you level up your gun a bit. I was a bit indifferent to it, but pretty much since I met the yakuza I've been really enjoying it. You also eventually meet a french cyborg who is easily the best character in the game, probably the best character in any game this year. What's killing me is the plot, I know I've seen an anime with the exact same story but I can't place it. There's cyborgs living amongst humans, only they dont know they aren't humans, you have to hunt down the guy who's probably responsible for making them. I know it shares a lot of similarities with Bladerunner, but beyond that all I can think is Appleseed, but I know there's some other late 80s/90s anime

well i got it and played through the story mode, it looks amazing, controls well with the analogue stick (apparently not so well with digital input), it plays ok, story mode is too long but apparently arcade mode is shorter so that's good although arcade starts on hard mode and i can't get past the first boss on one life. there's some good ideas in there and some good bullet patterns, fun to be had. but also some odd stuff that doesn't work too well, the wobbly bullets, being hidden behind smoke, lots of instant death stuff. not sure i like it or not - need to play more. the time running out thing didn't seem to come into play in story mode much, except one bit in a sort of maze near the end, took loads of continues to get past that, not sure if i was dying or running out of time as they're sort of the same thing, most stuff if you get hit just takes off some time but some stuff takes off all of it - death. the 3d-ness of the obstacles makes it hard to navigate the maze too. did you get to play it illdog? my score was alone on the friends leaderboard.

Its one of those point and click adventure games for your personal computer and it looks a little like this. It looks exactly like that, pretty ain't it. I know very little about this sort of think but it is different in the way its story is told, there is no dialogue are even words in this game, its all told with short animated scenes, crunches and bleeps from the characters and enviromental stuff, it all tells the tale perfectly, it almost makes me want to stop using language myself. The puzzles, I don't know how to guage these. You have logical puzzles like moving shapes and all that Layton type stuff and you also have your classic inventory item stuff too, this is where I get stuck. At the moment the last thing I managed to get hold of is a dead/stunned robot cat... I know a dude needs some sunflower oil... WTF is all my console raised brain can manage. I was doing okay at it actually, the game starts out as a single puzzle per screen, you solve it and then moved on. I liked that. Later it does open up and all the inventory items build up with a series of characters that want different items and the little robot man shakes his head at everything I try the items on then I go running back to Halo. In all seriousness though it is a good game and one I hope to see to the end, I think I will because it does have a hint system which is pretty much an ingame Gamefaqs, I won't use it too much though....

got a free copy of anomaly warzone earth on xbox the other week, never would have bought it, but turns out it's great, like a backwards tower defence game, you pick your path and tank types/formation, you get money to buy upgrades/new tanks, and you control a little dude who can pickup abilities from fallen enemies, it can get quite tactical picking your path/tank formation/power usage, and frantic when things kick off. there's some enemies that do stuff you wouldn't expect later on that keep it interesting. single player story is quite short but there's quite a few extra missions and 3 difficulties for everything. i found easy difficulty to be well judged for me. so yeah really enjoyed it.

I know at least me and Chin are dying for a sequel to this, without giving anything away, the ending makes you go "Aaaaaaargghhh! Tell me more!" Not in a bad way, just that the story has only just begun, shame it didn't sell that well. I bone this game and I fell in love with the whole atmosphere, it's great just wandering round looking at stuff. It's very much a Zelda clone but when it's done this well with a pretty good and fairly original storyline (plus, female lead, pretty but not Lara Croft phwoar, etc and non-violent too) you have to tip your hat. For some reason the story and setting reminded me of the first Oddworld game. I need to play this again, but haven't been able to since I completed it as I lent it to a mate (that I don't see often) along with the Twin Snakes.
