This is one thing I hate my OLED for. Anything below 60 looks juddery. Including TV and films, especially when doing slow panning shots. Or if there’s a something small moving fast it looks like it’s skipping across the screen. Over the couple of years I’ve had it I’ve gotten more used to it though where it doesn’t really bother me anymore. For reference, after many hours of messing with the trumotion settings I have mine set to Dejudder 4, deblur 2. That’s where I think the best compromise is. See what you think. Make sure 24fps compatable option is on too. Surprised you don’t think much to HDR and the colour depth in general though. I think it’s incredible. Have you tried any Dolby Vision stuff yet? That’s basically HDR where you don’t have to worry about settings and always looks the best IMO.

Mitchells Vs the Machines Enjoyed that a lot! Amusing and heart felt in equal measure. Looks great too. Special mention to Monchi as well. As the owner of a Pug, I have to say they got him absolutely spot on! Honestly, he’s just perfect. The mannerisms, how gormy and clueless he looks all the time, the stupidity, just, everything. Brilliant. Tenet Didnt have a clue what was going on most of the time to be honest. Found it quite funny how the main guy just immediately accepts inverse stuff as though it’s no stranger than garlic bread. Even so I still enjoyed watching it, visually it was just really interesting and cool. The parts I did understand were fascinating. But yeah, I was completely baffled for the most part.

Yea this is something with games, a game can be objectively bad. Frame rates, controls, responsiveness etc. If these are bad, the game is bad. Simple. Doesn’t mean some enjoyment can’t be gained from them though, like you say. The game is still bad though.

This defo. Everyone turns their nose up and even say the original MD ones are terrible now which is just not true. & it’s not just about going fast, they have proper platforming in them. Since the MD days there’s been the Advance series, the Rush games, Generations and Mania which have all been great. DmC is one I agree with. I think it may be my favourite entry in the series (not played V yet). The backlash just because he looked different and didn’t have white hair was ridiculous. FO76 defenders are having a fucking giraffe though. Not just a terrible game but everything around it is terrible, the monetisation of near essential features like the scrap box thing, the bag debacle, people’s details being accessible etc. Madness.

Thanks for the heads up. I’m more interested but I’ll wait till I can get it at £30 or less, still not sure about the direction they’ve gone. Heard a couple more podcasters and videos with VII fans on who also aren’t as bothered about it too so I’ll wait. Not heard anyone who loved VII say they really like this one yet.

Asura’s Wrath is so fucking good! God damn I love that game.

I had a huge collection of Japanese only Saturn games so played quite a few obscure releases. One of my favourites of these was Soukyugurentai. One of the best vertical shooters I’ve ever played even to this day. Had a great little gimmick where you have a vector style targeting area which fires homing bullets at groups of enemies, Panzer Dragoon style. Loved it.

20 hours in and just found my first secondary job! Didn’t even know that was a thing. This changes everything, exploiting weaknesses just got a lot easier. Ive not done any grinding as yet, but I’ve not used Cyrus’ reduce encounter ability & not avoided any battles and have been just the right level for each new act so far. Had some very challenging battles but scraped through. Satisfying.

? I actually played 1 and 2 on PS2 and played 3 on PS3. Then stopped for some reason. Like a Dragon brought me back in.

Woohoo!!! Fuck you guys, the turn based combat, scenarios and visual gags that created were brilliant. Still not played Judgement, need to get to it.

Listened to a couple of podcasts and a couple of YT videos regarding this, kind of worrying that the people who absolutely adored VII like myself are very lukewarm regarding this one. People who weren’t bothered about VII seem to love it though. I went from being there day 1 to not being that bothered after hearing it had a more open world style and saw that video hunting animals for crafting bollocks. I’ll be interested to hear what the people who really liked VII here think of it when you play it.

I don’t mind the looks so much, it’s the sheer size of the thing and the white flaps. Just making them black would make all the difference for me.

Wait, what?!?!? Noooooo... Not Vinny Him and Jan made a fantastic team recently & me enjoy watching Kingdom Hearts which I never thought would happen. Yea, I think that’s it. That’s 3 ‘main’ guys gone as well as a general downhill trend in quality. Wonder if it’s anything to do with the buyout which recently happened?

Up to around 17 hours now, in short I’m still having a brill time with it. Got the 8 characters now & done 2 of the 2nd chapters. Got to say Primrose the dancer character has been the standout so far. Pretty damn dark! Impressively so. Rooting for her and the people she meets more than any others. Her support abilities have made my Cleric and Knight characters into proper beasts too.

Gutted for Housemarque but hopefully the digital sales are shit too to show £70 is fucking stupid. Hoping the new Ratchet and Clank underperforms for the same reason.

Made a start on this now it’s on Xbox and Game Pass. I’ve put in about 5 hours and absolutely loving it so far. I’ve done 3 characters intros, the magic guy, the trader, the healer and just about to move onto the next. I really like the way it does these little individual stories to introduce you to them & I am adoring the graphical style and battle system is brilliant. The BP system is really satisfying when you set a chain off. Liking being able to see weaknesses and such too. Great game so far.

Back to only getting 1 or 2 games a year then ?

PS5 games are so expensive you have to finance them.

I sold my demons souls on PS5 for £43 not long ago on ebay. £21 is taking the piss. Its worth the extra effort.

I was worried about burn in with OLED too. Especially with how much I played Rocket League. Was worried about the channel logos in the corner too. Luckily not had an issues at all so far over a couple of years. They have supposedly gotten a lot better with the pixel refresher tech and whatnot which prevents it happening. The QLED is a beaut of a tv though. Like you say not much in it. Almost got one myself when I was looking. During my search I found the colours to be marginally brighter on the QLED but the black level on the OLED is just incredible. I can’t go back now, surprising how much of a difference it makes. Plus in reviews although they were close to the LG OLED, they always just lost out.
