  1. I was waiting for a few more reviews to go up but I guess there's enough for now: OpenCritic Metacritic Sounds bloody good though, TotK was a complete dud for me, bored me to tears, this looks more in my wheelhouse.
  2. Post release patches are just a part of modern gaming, they improve the game so are always a good thing really, games are incredibly complex and small independent studios can't really be expected to find all the bugs/glitches/performance issues in a game this large, even during the early access period.
  3. Did that once when I was a kid, absolutely horrendous 😬
  4. Yeah there needs to be some kind of work around done at some point for sure. PS Blog: PS+ Extra/Premium August 2023 Bloody great month that, won't have time to play them but some great gets there.
  5. I think I'm going to have to pick this up on or near release, even if I won't have time to dedicate to it. I would imagine with the turn based nature it wouldn't be too bad to play via Remote Play either.
  6. Weird issue to come up 2.5 years after a consoles been in the wild, seems to be a few isolated cases from using unlicensed PS4 > PS5 stick converters or something, don't think it's anything us average joes have to worry about. Maybe the ventilation in the arena(s?) played a part too.
  7. PS5 runs PS4 games, so it is coming to both, they probably are saying PS4 because they aren't really doing much work to make it feel/look like a current gen PS5 game. I won't be bothering with this anyway, I've little time to play my current slate of games, let alone games from yonks ago. If I did I'd play it on Series X regardless and save myself £50.
  8. I'm embarrassed to say that I've never seen any of the Ghibli movies. After some (most?) were put on Netflix a few years back I vowed to finally check them out, but I still haven't unfortunately.
  9. Saw Meg 2: The Trench at the weekend. It's just dumb, silly, good fun really. If you're a fan of Monster films or Godzilla type movies I definitely recommend it. There's a bit where someone bullet time dives and shoots a dinosaur with a big gun, loads of scenes of Jason Statham on a Jet Ski going over the crest of a wave with a dynamite harpoon in hand, a scene where a giant octopus fights a giant shark. Lots of campy one liners and over the top action sequences. There's a lot more exposition than the first film, that isn't really needed but it's nice to have it anyway if that makes sense, even if some of the dialogue is nonsensical and hilarious. They explore the Megs and the 'Trench' from the first film a lot more here with some cool action sequences at the bottom of the ocean reminiscent of something like Bioshock a little bit. The little girl from the first film (Mei?) is back in this as a teenager, weirdly her Mum played by Li Bingbing has been killed off in this but in her place is Mei's Uncle played by Wu Jing who is a big Chinese Action Star. He adds a little more variety to the action sequences as they're not all solely on Statham's shoulders, Jing's scenes often have more energy and less weapons than Statham's too. It feels like a much more well rounded film than the first, it takes longer to get to the campy thrills in the final 1/3 of the movie, but I enjoyed the first 2/3 all the same and I thought the payoff at the end was better because of that buildup if that makes sense. It feels a lot less rushed and a lot less predictable than its predecessor in my view.
  10. I kind of see what you're getting at, but there's no way Xbox wouldn't want BG3 on their systems at launch, and absolutely no way they'd pay to delay it, that's just bonkers lol.
  11. August update Fuck all, I cancelled all my remaining pre-orders as they landed either before or during our Japan trip.
  12. UK Chart Roundup (Week 30 2023) UK Chart, week ending July 29th 2023 (Week 30)
  13. I've seen the Western remakes of Deathnote and Ghost in a Shell but not the originals, I've never seen Akira et al. either to be honest. Back in the GTM days I got some DVDs of some older stuff (I think) but I can't remember the names of any of them unfortunately.
  14. Seeing as our trip to Japan is on the horizon now I thought I'd try to get back into Anime after dipping a toe in properly a few years back with Attack on Titan, Devil Man Crybaby and One Punch Man. I'd gotten about 8 episodes into Attack on Titan and then never went back to it, despite absolutely loving it, not sure why, but I tried to seek that out only to find it's only on Crunchyroll now and not Netflix, so that stopped me in my tracks there. I did see that Netflix have Demon Slayer though and it has got some really good reviews and word of mouth so I decided to try that and yeah, I'm not very far in but have really enjoyed it so far. I'm only about 4 episodes in but I couldn't put it down last night, just wanted to watch one after another, which is a good sign. I might dip a toe into One Piece too at some point, although that's only on Crunchyroll too I believe.
  15. Bit odd, but all indications are this will be a banger so I'm not worried. I'll be waiting for the PS5 version in a months time or so anyway, even then it'll likely be awhile before I get round to it.
