But it's an interesting film, better than US imo

See, I think US was better, felt more coherent and I didn't see the twist coming either, but I think you can make arguments for either. It's a pretty impressive three film debut anyway you look at it

Signs has glimpses of Aliens until the finale and no ufo. And is the better film by far both in theme and family drama.

Yeah I think you might be right (about it being better, not the plot which you are absolutely right). I've seen Signs 3 or 4 times and not for years, but I still think about it a lot as well. maybe it's aliens I think about

I’ve seen NOPE now and thought it was a bit weak until the final 30 minutes unfortunately. It would have been better suited as a regular ufo with a build up of horror scenes with aliens. 6/10

Isn't that just Signs? Also a good film tbf. I flip flopped between thinking NOPE was fantastic and a bit weak, but I saw it about 8 weeks ago or so and have thought about it a lot since so that's something

I hope it's good, I'm a bit tired of Toriyama's design, there's never any variety between works, but that might be just me

I guess that's the issue with being (probably) the most famous manga alive, people want everything in the same style. I get what you mean though

  4. I liked 9. It was cute and had an 8/16 bit vibe to it that I enjoyed. I think it was 9 that had the notoriously bad guide book, where the actual book was pretty bare bones and then the extra stuff you needed was paywalled behind a brandy books (or square soft maybe?) Web site, after you'd already paid for the book. I had it and it was frustrating

Monthly round up time again... interesting month with some high scoring games being released right at the end of the month, strictly speaking those are June releases and will be covered in that round up.

@mfnick scored big with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom earning 33 points but was hit for -11 points with Redfall, which gained @radiofloyd 11 points as it was a counter-pick.

@Nag scored 10 points for Planet of Lana and 5 points with System Shock.

@Jimbo Xiii earned 2 points with LEGO 2k Drive and 8 points for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun.

    Current standings...

    1. radiofloyd - 91 points.

    2. Nag - 59 points.

    3. @DisturbedSwan - 50 points.

    4. Jimbo Xiii - 48 points.

    5. @mmmark - 33 points.

    6. @Nabby9 - 16 points.

    7. mfnick - 15 points.

    8. @HandsomeDead - 9 points.

    Releases for June....

HandsomeDead has Street Fighter 6 and Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective Remastered.

    mfnick has Diablo IV.

    mmmark has F1 23.

Looks like @radiofloyd is pulling away with it

  6. From my relatively substantial testing (Xbox controller, plus a 7 and 3 year old children) Ikea rechargeable batteries are the king of the reusables, they last forever and pretty cheap.

Also, that's the hottest "Blakey Hot Take" we've had for some time...

  7. I bouced off Breath of the Wild twice before it finally clicked and the thing that did it for me was speaking to my friend and me saying I was struggling to stay engaged with it, he asked if I'd defeated any of the guardians (I think that's what they're called, the bosses) and at that point I hadn't done any. I then did all three of them in pretty much one sitting, opening up the new powers and making the game a lot more fun/accessable for me, after that I put in another 40 or 50 hours or so and still never got around to fighting Gandorf.

Next week is the finale of the entire show. No S5

It's 8 all together I think. Episode 7 is the one today.

I'll watch them all once that drops then, or will probably start now as it'll take me a week to watch the series anyway

I'm caught up on Barry season 4, I don't think I like it much tbh. The first 2 had such a good balance of comedy and dark shit, and they went in a really surprising direction in 3. But I think it's just run out of runway with 4, I dunno maybe it's just me. Online reviews are great. But I'm disappointed.

edit there's another episode out today, I've not seen that one yet.

How many before the series is wrapped up? Is this the final series?

You can't just leave it like that - do you mean a 1990's ball & wheel mouse or a Razer gaming mouse (with 20+ programmable buttons)?

I sitll use a thumb track ball mouse now, it's great and would never go back to a regular mouse

That was my memory of it. Deadly Alliance in particular opted to use that ultra-tiny D-Pad. It wasn't pleasant.

I had the same problem with Tony Hawks Pro Skater 4 as well. You didn't need to use the dpad, but analogue was too inaccurate for quick tricks and the d pad too tiny

  12. Xbox series controllers are pretty great, I really liked the 360 controller as well. I've always felt the analogue sticks on the duelsense/duelshock controllers are in the wrong place, and are simply there because it was originally a reconfigured PS1 controller, but they've ran with it for nearly 30 years.

I really liked the cube controller at the time, D Pad was pretty shit though, and it may not have aged well.

    Ted Lasso

Bit late to this but was I fuck paying for another streaming service (got 2 month trial). Plus I don’t care about football and overly positive people wind me up something rotten.

But I loved it. Finished the 1st season in less than a week. Only 30 minute episodes too! Recommend anyone to at least give it a try, even if everything about it puts you off like it did me.

It's one of our favourite shows of recent times, we really enjoyed both the first and second series.

We're watching the third at the moment, it isn't as good as the first two series, still worth watching though. The episodes are longer, but a lot of the supporting characters are now getting their own arcs, not necessarily a bad thing as I like everyone in the show, but it makes it more bloated, with a bit less comedy and more melodrama. There are some really great episodes still though, so overall worth it I'd say

Shame you didn't quite land as well for you :( .

I still enjoyed it, I've always been a little indifferent to the Guardians post the first film anyway. It was way better than the second film, wasn't as good as the first. I did like that it was pretty low stakes in the wider sense of the MCU, didn't feel like it was there to crank forward the wider story that's going on in the way Ant-Man 3 did

  15. Saw Guardians vol 3 this evening, yeah it was alright.  Pretty sure it was the most animal cruelty (albeit cgi) I've  seen in a film before. The plot was decent and it hit some emotional beats. Starlord seemed a bit sidelined in the film, not necessarily a bad thing but not what I was expecting. Made me laugh a few times.

They also toned down Drax a bit as well, again not a bad thing
