I've been chipping away through some of the tutorials. The presentation is top notch - they've clearly put a lot of effort into everything, which is good as there's a shit load to take in. I've been dabbling with the logic system and it's pretty full on but it's also self explanatory once you get to a point. It reminds me of those electronics kist you used to have as a kid, where you'd clip wires into springs to make a circuit. I still can't get my head around how good some of the content is already.
  2. Welcome aboard @therealjaxon and @Maryokutai - i'm the artist formerly known as Guinness81. Good to see you both again.
  3. Playing catch up on the podcasts and just listened to the @illdog desert island one. Is it just me, or does Illdog sound like Ant Middleton (from SAS - Who Dares Wins) with a cold? I now half expect to have a bag shoved over my head, be dragged into a dark room and be shouted at until I reveal dark chapters of my childhood.

Yeah, the stuff people have created is really impressive. Se of the stand out projects I've played are a test demo of a working portal gun, a really charming game about a pea trying to get to a saucepan that was narrated by a dad and his four year old, a recreation of the forrest from Ocarina of Time and a game about collecting orbs in a Mario Galaxy planet.

I've just bought this. Looks like a fun thing to do with the kids.
  6. Not far off what it cost me to build my own.
  7. https://www.wired.com/story/exclusive-sony-next-gen-console/ The bit about previous versions of PSVR being compatible is interesting. Might be tempted to pick one up cheap now.

Early access is now available to buy for £24.99 Supposedly a limited amount available though: https://store.playstation.com/en-gb/product/EP9000-CUSA04301_00-DREAMS0000000000?emcid=pa-st-165932
  9. PLAY EDF5 – Around the half way mark on normal and it's starting to ramp things up. When this game goes all out, there's nothing quite like it. Terraforming Mars – A great digital version of a fantastic board game. WANT Rage 2. Baba is You - Hearing great things about this. BIN Sekiro - Had a week or so off this and coming back to it is just frustrating. I may go back to it at some point but the momentum/interest is gone.
  10. Appreciate the offer but I'm just not sure I'm enjoying it anymore. I've never been great at Fromsoft games but could muddle my way through but I'm now at a point where things are getting more difficult and it just feels like self-flagellation. In summary, can't really be arsed to 'git gud'
  11. I've had a couple of weeks away from this and tried to get back into it again last night. Fucking hell, it's rough. I've lost the momentum and not sure I can be bothered to try and get it back.
  12. Yeah, I wasn't blown away by the first series but we enjoyed it enough to give the second a go. With S2 It's like the writer and director did a LOT of drugs and went all out.
  13. Five episodes in on the new series of The OA. The first series was pretty good, and a bit unusual. The second series has just gone full out weird and I love it. There's a review of episode four that states 'You'll laugh, you'll cry then you'll laugh AND cry and then you'll stare at the screen in ten minutes in disbelief.' That's an accurate description of just how weird it gets. And apparently that's just the start of it. I don't think it's for everyone, there will be a few that bounce off episode four, but me and the wife think it's great!
  14. I loved Yoku, a well deserved win.
  15. That hud would look so much better if they didn't italicise EVERYTHING! I also quite like the idea of Spotify integration - saves me having to mute the plethora of Dubstep/Pop Rock that normally goes with the genre. Now you can just have Avril Lavigne on repeat!
  16. I enjoyed last night's session, managed to get through 50 levels in three sessions which isn't too bad going. Some of the enemies that are being introduced now are absolute fuckers. The creepy robots can do one. Dialogue of the night: "we're being attacked by giant bird like monsters!" Wasps. They're called wasps.
  17. Just hit the 200 hour mark on this game. Not bad value for the six or seven quid I paid for it. Cannot for the life of me beat the final boss with the defect though. Came close once but ever since I've been trampled by the two enemies you have to fight beforehand.
  18. Pretty sure I've had someone get infected after I died and didn't resurrect. I had a break form this last night to shoot some bugs in EDF. I'm at a point in Sekiro where the way forward is a dark tunnel underground. I fucking hate From Softs underground sections - they creep me the hell out.
  19. Another 15 levels down with @Sly Reflex last night (would have liked to do more if not for the fact I was dozing off towards the end). I love the moments in this game where it just throughs so much at you. There was a great bit last night when I looked up to see around 100 giant wasps flying overhead which suddenly attacked. There's a real joy to unleashing a barrage of homing rockets into the bastards.
  20. I've been a bit lame with commenting on the podcasts, but have been catching up with a few of them over the last couple of weeks. Enjoying the Desert Island format, might try and arrange a flight out to the island after the Easter Holidays.
  21. Part of the appeal of the From Soft games is the ambiguity of their story, so not sure how I feel about this. I also think he's massively over-rated as a writer.
  22. That's the one.
  23. I spent about an hour fighting a dude on a bridge last night. Fuck that guy.
  24. I could do with a break from Sekiro - @Sly Reflex @regemond - you free Thursday evening?
