As much as I love MK. I've already traded MK1 in. Did the story mode. Saw all the Fatalities and arcade endings. Plus the first season of Invasions and that felt like all the game had to offer. I still have the "old school" mentality, I guess. Expecting that was all MK1 had to give and awaiting the sequel to follow up with more.

Yea I felt done with MK1 a lot quicker than I did with X and XI.

I even kept MK vs. DC around for longer than MK1. Considering the last MK I owned/played was MK9. I should have been even more impressed by what I was playing. Yet it's amazing how lacking I found the newest entry to be.

I traded in MK1 once I’d finished the campaign, and done most of the trophies . Didn’t help that it took up 130gb of storage space. That sealed its fate, really. 
 

Put Tekken 8 at the top of my rental wish list. Hopefully get it before too long.

I'm bumping the thread again, I don't care, but Max has a pretty good series that just ended going into the history of all the Tekkens and their successes and failures. The one on Tag 2 is particularly interesting I found, it would be cool if they found a way to bring those old games back with rollback crossplay on PC, but unlikely to ever happen

Yeah, I've been following the retrospective. I had no idea that TTT2 (and the Tag series in general) underperformed so much!? No wonder they have gone the route of bulking out the mainline rosters, as opposed to making TTT3.

I'd like to get back into it, but I don't think I'll touch Heihachi. I played Kazuya a bit and those characters are pretty technical. It's like the opposite of what you expect coming from games like Strive and SF, where the main characters are usually easier to get to grips with. 

 

I see an eclipsed moon in the background with Heihachi talking about coming back from hell and can't help but draw the Berserk parallels. Kinda interested in the story there

Personally I think he's a great pick tbh, lots of style in his fighting. Tho I may have preferred Tifa as well tbh

 

I put 100 hours into this and barely felt like I scratched the surface of the surface. If I ever get back on I'll have to learn the Clive gimmicks immediately cause there's going to be loads of them online.

 

I wish they could add other tracks from XVI as well, like that Titan theme, damn

Unless you like a fighting game character's poster boy you're kind of just crossing your fingers for multiple years to see your favourite maybe return as DLC. It's understandable considering for two or three generations these rosters got more bloated with every release until production costs caught up with them, but it can be a bit of a bummer if lean towards more exotic playstyles.

 

Like the new Ana look though, no idea what some people are on about online (though I suppose that last part is a rather universal statement these days).
