spatular
So is all the old Rock Band stuff compatible with Rock Band 3. Just been in HMV and the Rock Band drum kit is only a tenner. If it is all compatible I might pick up RB3 and guitar and an old set of drums. Also the new RB3 guitar - can you play it the old way (ie five coloured buttons and the strum...thing) or is it the new 'super realistic just like a real guitar' guitar? yeah the old rock band stuff is compatible (and most (all?) guitar hero stuff too), so thoes drums will work fine (well i say fine, they'll work fine untill they fall to bits but for a tenner they're perfect for giving it a try). The RB1 drums don't support the new cymbal add on for pro mode though. i think there are 3 different RB3 guitars...a new standard 5 button one, the 100+ button pro mode guitar (also compatible with 5 button mode) and the real squire one (not out yet and not compatible with the 5 button mode). if you're not bothered about the pro modes pretty much any fake plastic guitar will do I tried a new layout on the drums last night, it seems better but will take a bit of getting used to
Jimboxy
so could i get the pro cymbols for the RB2 (beatles) drums then?
spatular
so could i get the pro cymbols for the RB2 (beatles) drums then? yeah, apparently so, the only place that sells them over here is the madcatz store though and stock is rubbish apparently, importing is an option too i guess. Tomahawk Rob
DLC for next week = Bee Gees "Jive Talkin'" "Night Fever" "Stayin' Alive" "Nights on Broadway" "Tragedy" "You Should Be Dancing"

Hendo
I reckon Hendo will buy that You bet your bottom I will! I would rather swap Tragedy for Run To Me but I guess they're going for the big dancing stuff and Run To Me is more of a ballad. I can tell you the bass lines on those songs are immense. If the bass line on You Should Be Dancing doesn't get you shaking your arse then there's something wrong with you. Also Nights On Broadway has an awesome piano part, the whole song is brilliant bar the sappy bridge, though the very end of the bridge brings it back. Not to mention the fact that the current RB set up is tailor made for Bee Gees songs with 3 part harmonies and adding in the keys. So yes, not a fail nor a facepalm but a bloody awesome song pack! Now what day and what time is it coming out?

Sly Reflex
Let's have a look at those songs. Sorry for the multiple posts, dunno why the forum decided we can't put more than two in one post, but there you go. Like Hendo said, the bass is fucking awesome. Sly Reflex
All apart from Night on Broadway are excellent, not that it isn't a great song, I just thing they could have picked something better to fill that spot. Probably More Than A Woman. They should totally make all strings, horns and anything else that isn't guitar, drums or bass into key parts, it would make it more involving for the keyboard player, instead of them playing a bit here and a bit there they would be involved throughout all the song. Also, while we are on the topic of making keys more involved in songs, I hope they bring some of the Kaiser Chiefs catalogue over. I know you guys won't think they are 'cool' and lyrically some of the songs are a mess, but the drums/bass/keys parts are awesome.
Hendo
I would imagine the strings at least will be turned into a keys part. On "20th Century Boy" the keys part is the horn section complete with playing the sax solo on the keyboard! And yep, definitely need Kaiser Chiefs in there. DANGERMAN
you can never get enough Kaiser Chiefs. I also think they should have Chris Moyles introducing each track

Tomahawk Rob
And yep, definitely need Kaiser Chiefs in there. Not really a fan of the Kaisers, but having 'Angry Mob' & 'Never Miss A Beat' available would be quality!! As for BeeGees, I may get Staying Alive for the amusement factor... DANGERMAN
two people have given me a negative for dissing the kaisers, I think that might be the nadir of the forum on topic, and in the hopes of raising the subterranean bar, did anything come of that Pearl Jam Rock Band that was on the cards?
