I want to give this a go, but will be waiting for a price drop, might get it on pc depending if that version is any good/manage to upgrade the pc.

Got the boss done in the end, I upped my health flask count which I think helped. overall enjoyed it, at the start really enjoyed the exploration, reminded me of botw a bit. Later on with more combat and stuff I don’t think I fully got into the combat and would say even at the end wasn’t good at it, but was still quite enjoying it overall, had some good fights. There were still some areas left to explore but think they were locked behind quests. The quests are incomprehensible compared to modern games with quest markers and stuff, I tried to follow a guide to do one which apparently might get me a better ending but got stuck on an optional boss. The ending I got was rubbish/ nonexistent

they probably release even more than it seems, like the 9700x or whatever might get released, then later a 9700 with little to no fanfare, and laptop cpu's etc.
-
^ that sounds like a good plan, i need to look into how to get more help, i'm using the ash summon (can't remember what it's called) so there's 2 fighting currently but they usually die early in the second part of the fight
-
thanks! yeah you can use the horse, i did try that, not sure if it was helping. been watching some guides on how to fight it, none use the horse but were probably made before you could use it.
-
on the last boss now, will i be able to beat it, not sure.
-
I seem to remember having a great time with vanquish, probably on easy mode.

Reviews are pretty good for the 9070xt, rt and upscaling much improved although still not as good as nvidia, standard performance is nearly up with a 5070ti which costs a lot more. Might try and get one later, but it’s still a lot of money so not sure.
-
Yeah the 5070 is getting bad reviews, but for me I think it would be the only choice for an nvidia card, and a good upgrade to be fair, as it depends what you’re coming from, in my case a 2070super. Previous gen price reductions like getting a cheap 4070 would be my preference but that never seems to happen much for nvidia stuff. im hoping the same about amd catching up, they’re behind in efficiency too, not really commenting on what a reasonable tdp is, although the lower the better, more that my psu is 650w so it’s on the edge, 9070 reviews will be tomorrow apparently, seeing the actual power usage and if the new upscaling/rt is any good will be interesting, based on that I might try and get one. Although haven’t been playing demanding stuff on pc recently so could just keep waiting.
-
These could be good? see how the reviews pan out, hopefully the dlss equivalent is good. At the rrp the xt will apparently be the only one worth getting but the ~300w is higher than id like.

I dunno really, sometimes it’s nice to know there’s something you’re looking forward to. Sometimes they take it too far though like I’m sure armed police batrider was shown years ago and still not out
-
Not sure if I’ve seen any films that came out this year? Just looked and apparently dune 2 is nominated, that was good.

I’ve been watching quite a lot of videos of this too, a lot I still don’t understand. only just worked out/looked up how to use magic. tried the 2 main places to go in the second area but found them a bit difficult so was wandering around a bit aimlessly although found a few good caves/mini dungeons. Then found a way though to another big (3rd? And 4th?) area, it’s up north anyway, so exploring around there, now in some sort of volcano zone. The difficulty I guess is finding things appropriate to fight for my level/lack of skill. Went back to the second area and may have over leveled as it wasn’t too hard, but it’s a bit vague on if I’ve finished those or not. Then I tried to fight a bear and learnt to stay away from bears.

Been playing this quite a lot, mainly exploring, uncovered nearly as much of the map as Maf above, but without much fighting, really enjoying the exploring, probably played 10 to 15 hours exploring. Then had to do some fighting, at first mainly fighting big slow enemies on the horse where hit and run is effective, then did the area in the south then the north (from the starting area) I feel like I’m sort of rubbish at the fighting (which I expected) but as you can summon 2 helpers at the boss fights, and I read beginner info about what to level up, so have lots of health, I didn’t find the bosses too bad. Still easily die to groups/random enemies at times. I still expect at some point the fighting will get too hard and I’ll give up, but will see how it goes. also the horse is great, it’s fast, it double jumps, I spent so long on the horse now running around without seems really slow.

oh yeah DoDonPachi Sai Dai Ou Jou (SDOJ) came out on the switch over here recently, after coming out in other countries previously, its got some English text but some text only in Japanese, which is interesting for a game released over here, it's a port of the 360 version i assume. as nintendo are ending the gold points thing i tried to claim loads of points, most games had expired but got £12 off. https://www.nintendo.com/en-gb/Games/Nintendo-Switch-download-software/DODONPACHI-SAIDAIOUJOU-2757185.html

Yeah that does look cool, thanks for the heads up!

^ thanks guys! I went south, started fighting more, dying loads and getting annoyed, which is sort of what I expected tbf.

I barley remember/know about anything that’s coming out these days, so had a look at a list, there’s a few things I would like to try but will probably wait till they come down in price a bit, like the new assassins creed, pirate yakuza, and monster hunter. There’s loads of stuff I don’t know about too hopefully some good surprises in there. I’ll get xenoblade x but not sure if I’ll play it. I’ll play Metroid, and hopefully there will be some good stuff at the switch 2 launch.

Started this, in a bit of a gaming rut thought I might try something different, anyone got any beginner tips, like items I should get at the start and pointing in the direction of an “easier” boss to try? I did watch a beginner video but it was like farm this spot for a billion xp and get to level 50 and get these items to make an unstoppable build but ignored that as I do want to try and play it sort of properly but with some pointers. been quite enjoying exploring and killing a few easy enemies, running away from anything that looks scary, died a few times when fighting too many baddies at the same time.
-
hopefully the last one is basically returnal 2, so that should be good. liked the look of a few of the others too but they sort of merged together in my head and can't remember the names. had a look at a list to try and remind me - oh yeah the octopus one, and monster hunter looks cool, but not played rise yet.

The best shmup, ketsui, doesn’t even have a metacritic page.

Did anyone try to get one of the new cards today?

Finished this the other day, well did all the challenges, really enjoyed it, still playing a bit to improve some times but hoping it gets patched soon as there’s some obvious stuff missing that will make time trials a lot better.
