  1. I have to change the controls like that for any shooter on the PSP. Have you played this with headphones on? Doing so, every time those brain-exploding aliens turn up, it really freaks me out!
  2. I didn't like the demo at all but I bought the full game yesterday and I think it's brilliant. The aiming takes a bit of getting used to, but after that it's fine. I'm slowly working through the main campaign, but I've had a little go on the multiplayer (I'm actually not so bad against other people for once!) and tried getting a few of the 'skill points' (which I assume are like achievements/trophies?).
  3. I finally saw this in GAME today, as part of a bundle with either Coded Arms or Silent Hill Origins for £19.99. Once I get paid, I'm very tempted to grab the Silent Hill combo.
  4. Bah, I've been wanting this game for ages now, but I've not been able to find it at a decent price - especially not £5! They do have PO+ in my local Sainsbury's, quite a few copies actually, for £10.
  5. I wouldn't hold your breath if I were you. I emailed GAME to complain a couple of years ago, because I bought a supposedly new copy of Resident Evil DS, only to get home and find out that there were a couple of saved games on the cart dated weeks before I made the purchase. No compensation or anything for the journey I had to make to get a new copy, no offer of giving me the used price instead - just a "our apologies, go back into the shop and they'll give you a new one". Makes me wonder how many other used games are passed off as new.
  6. I think the lack of wifi killed it for me as well. I'm not too fussed by single player FPS games any more. CoD5 DS is supposed to feature online play though, woo!
  7. I really wasn't too impressed with this game to be honest. I haven't played the console versions (due to only owning a DS) so it's not anything to do with that. I just didn't get into it as much as I thought I would, especially as I loved MPH.
  8. It was pushed back numerous times, but finally released on the 8th. I'm really enjoying it - much, much better than NFS ProStreet, and an improvement on Create & Race. I still can't get the hang of mastering the handbrake though!
  9. Last night I tried setting up my parents' Wii to connect to the internet, using the same wireless hub as my DS. I input the settings, WEP key and the like, but it will not connect at all. However, my DS is connecting fine. Anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong?
  10. I enjoyed the recent games such as Deadly Alliance and Armageddon. Back in the day I didn't really like the games after MK2 - I thought they were lacking a bit. Since I got Arcade Treasures on the PS2 though I started to like MK3 a bit better, and having played this for a while I'm enjoying it a lot now. I still prefer MK2 though. I used to love the story and the characters when I was younger, and I think that's why I didn't care much for MK3 - they got rid of too many decent characters and replaced them with some very questionable ones.
  11. I received this game as a present from my parents, and so far I'm loving it. It's taking me back in time to 1996 when they bought me MK3 for our new PC, and we couldn't get it to run until about 8 months after Christmas! As far as I can tell, it's an almost perfect port of the arcade UMK3. Unfortunately there's not many options - literally just single player and multiplayer - but there is Puzzle Kombat as well. It's somewhat amusing, although not a patch on Puzzle Fighter II. However, the online play is great. There is slight slowdown on certain backgrounds, but other than that it runs very smooth and is surprisingly enjoyable. If anyone else has the game, let me know and I'll pm you my friend code.
  12. I've probably spent more than £100 but less than £200, including trading in games for money off new ones.
  13. Well, this is a huge improvement on the incredibly glitchy first game (although my game did freeze earlier upon completing a level, but I put that down to bad luck as I've had the same thing happen in numerous other games). There's just as much to do in this one, and there's some nice, if repetitive mini games thrown in too. What I'm loving however is how much time you can spend on it. I've clocked up almost eight hours now, and I still have one more Episode to finish. Then of course I can go back and replay the levels, unlocking everything in the process. If you have doubts about this game based on the previous one, then don't - it's a far better, nicer package. The music is the original score too, and not the midi stuff from before.
  14. One thing struck me about the final battle at the end - if Ironhide and Ratchet were having so much difficulty fighting Brawl and Blackout, why not scan them and fight fire with fire? Would have ruined the concept of having individual looks an' all, but still...
  15. I managed to get it working again, woo! Thanks for you help
  16. Just wondering if anybody might be able to help me... I've come home for a few days where we have a wifi hub (BT home hub) and I cannot seem to connect to it at all with my DS. When I run a search, it will sometimes bring up our hub (and most of the time it will not, despite me being sat right next to it). When it does bring it up and I enter the WEP key, it then keeps telling me there is no access point within range. Any ideas as to what's going on?
  17. There is a lot of voice acting in the game which may go some way to explaining the divide. In my opinion, this is exactly how the Superman Returns game should have been made - an open world "hub" where you can fight random things, but also access story missions and random challenges.
  18. Anybody else played this yet? I got the Autobot version on Friday, and so far I'm loving it. It's quite easy to get into and plays like a mini-hybrid of Spider-Man 2 and GTA, only with giant robots on the DS. I'm stuck at the moment though, having to carry a few vehicles to Optimus Prime - the damn police keep shooting at me and then blowing up the vehicles!
  19. I'm quite pleased with the game. There are certain aspects I wish were different, such as the sensitivity. Aiming is fine, but turning round is a right pain sometimes - I died a fair few times due to this issue alone. For me, this is what Call Of Duty on the N-Gage should have been - a gripping, fast-paced portable shooter. Shame about the wifi though
  20. Hendo wrote: I had it, but sold it a while back. I thought it worked really well on the GBA, and it's a shame that Broken Sword II was never ported (I'm sure it could have been done). The only real downside was a very nasty glitch/bug which forced you to restart the game should you have encountered it. Aside from that, it was a pretty decent port of a very good game.
  21. A big thumbs up from me. Last night a quick five minute go turned into a three hour monster-fest - I haven't done that with a game for a long time.
  22. I bought this game today and just had a quick play on it. First impressions? Graphically it's very nice to look at, and seems like my kind of thing (although I have never played a Castlevania game before). I died almost immediately at the first boss though!
  23. I may get this today as I am taking in some stuff to trade at Gamestation. Is this the only region-lock WiFi title?
  24. 4/1/2007 - Superman Returns (DS). On 'Easy', nothing unlocked after having completed, so I'm now trying Medium difficulty.
  25. Just wait until you reach the latter stages :woohoo:
