  1. How have you found the online, Hendo? I haven't tried it yet. Are you doing normal deathmatch, or team/clan stuff?
  2. Here is metacritic's top DS games in score order: http://www.metacritic.com/games/ds/scores/ As far as DS faves go, NSMB and Animal Crossing are both up there with Mario Kart for me, but there is so much out there. Tiger Wood's is meant to be a bit pants on the DS, but True Swing Golf (aka Touch Golf) is a good'un. I agree with Part Time Gamer, Yoshi's Island is another must have, and puts up a decent challenge to boot.
  3. Veteran isn't fun, end of. It's not what the game is about for me. I've played through on a lesser setting, and I'm not going to punish myself (and possibly my pad) by going through on an insanely hard mode. It will just ruin how I look at the game in the future, which at the moment is that it was a superb first person experience that looked amazing and really sucked me in.
  4. I still haven't played Link's Crossbow Training yet. I've set up the Zapper though, and it looks sweeeeeet.
  5. Cover - Far Cry 2 Good scores for Burnout Paradise and No More Heroes!
  6. I got this in my Email today. At least they haven't forgotten about me. I want my Mario DS storage stand, and notebooks!
  7. I am always mega poor in January. I know it's a long month (we got paid before Christmas Eve) and each year I still run out of fundage half way through. I want Zack & Wiki this Friday, and Burnout Paradise next Friday, along with me ordering the US Advance Wars 2 DS that's out very soon, and the new Apollo Justice! Can't complain though I guess, a sign of a good gaming year ahead?
  8. I was playing E4 last night, and it's bloody fantastic. I got a mega super high score to go on the leaderboards, then realised that I was playing the second level and it only takes level one for the leaderboard. I was going for the 2000 chain which I almost managed but failed with 1942. I'm going to get it, though. Awesome game, I think it's taken over from Pac-Man CE as best XBLA game for me. It has amazing graphics that suck you in and I was sitting there in awe at all the explosions happening on screen. The R4 revenge mode of E4 turns the game almost into Geometry Wars, too. Unlimited mode is where it's at, though.
  9. There are runners up for each category, also. http://uk.bestof.ign.com/2007/overall/index.html I can't really argue with any of the awards, except does Mass Effect really deserve best original score?
  10. Same here, Hendo. Although, A few mates of mine want me to join their clan (C_NT), and they said they would look after me.
  11. I've got one! I bought it on release day, and was wrapped up for me as an xmas pressie. I've put the zapper together and it looks well funky. I haven't played the game yet, though.

New episode up today. A quality British podcast. Click the pic. Edit: Download link takes you to the previous episode, this will be sorted tonight apparently.

    The Orange Box

I haven't played anything of the Orange Box other than Portal, which I have finished. I get FPS'ed out sometimes, and having just finished the awesome COD4, I may leave it for a little longer.
  14. US release is in February, not long to go now. US Trailer: HERE. Doesn't show a great deal, so HERE is the nice JPN Trailer. I'm really looking forward to this.
  15. I'm rubbish at Guitar Hero, I've decided. When you're playing, do you guys use a finger for each button, or do you just use one (say, your index finger), and slide it up and down? I've been doing the latter, with a bit of my middle finger thrown in every now and then, as I can't seem to coordinate my fingers.
  16. And my first game of 2008 is: Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (360) - 02/01/08 Not so sure abou the rap tune at the end, but the main game was awesome. I loved every minute of it, but it certainly hits home the devestation that war can create.

    Wii Channels

Awesome! That will make Phooey very happy, and myself also. Except our PAL Wii's won't be able to do it for some time I bet, despite having the US DS game.

    New TV

360 looks amazing through HDMI. I was running it at 720p (as mine isn't a fancy 1080p set), but I changed the setting to 'optimal' on the 360 display settings instead a couple nights ago, and it chose 1360x768. I then changed the reference levels on the 360 options to 'Expanded' and the picture looks amazing. There is more on screen (I was getting the icons on Pac-Man CE cut off at the bottom) both height and width wise, and the text is way sharper than before. The changing of the reference level has improved the blacks on screen, too. Geometry Wars and E4 look fantastic. It pays to have a fiddle with both your TV and 360 settings. You'll be impressed going from SD to HD.
  19. Well I got this for Christmas from my lovely wife, and I'm loving the single player experience. I haven't even taken it online yet, I'm scared of being beaten to a pulp by hardcore leveled up dudes. I played up until, and a bit past, the All Ghillied Up mission last night, and what a fantastic mission that was, crawling along whilst the enemy passes by, and then the sniping bit near the end, and escorting your colleague (I thought that was going to be rubbish, it wasn't). It's full of quality set pieces that really stand out. Everyone mentions how short the single player campaign is, but with the amount of fun I'm having with it so far, I couldn't care less! I may even attempt it on Veteran once I've wrapped it up on its first playthrough. Graphically and presentation wise, it's up there with the very best.

Are sure that's going to be big enough for you? :silly:

  23. Umm.. I haven't bought any Ninty games for December, except Link's Crossbow Training.

    Bioshock

I still haven't bought this yet. Now it's becoming cheaper I may indulge soon, I played the demo and enjoyed it a lot. The latest patch for this gives the game proper 16:9 widescreen mode, so it shouldn't feel as restrictive now.
