  1. Since when does anyone really give a shit about what other people think?.. apart from folks around here, obviously.
  2. I sense Gripshift is going to be the next Soul Bubbles. I've been playing Outrun Online Arcade enough for it to be mentioned here, it really does work well for a competition because it brings out the old score chaser in you. I did plan to play CoD4 more but I just haven't been in the mood for it, so instead I've started playing Halo 3's multiplayer instead just because of the more comical and less intense vibe it has, to freshen it up I also bought all the new maps but at this point I've only played a few because people keep vetoing the ones I haven't tried, cunts. I'm enjoying it, I'm also getting abusive voice messages again.. I love Halo. I must really want a new action game because after finishing Ninja Gaiden II I found myself messing around with other hack'n'slash until I got stuck into God of War again, but I got to a bit in the Architect's Tomb which I hate with a passion (you know the bit, treadmills, Harpies, fire, rollers that squish you, archers, all mixed together) so I might just start God of War 2 now instead.

    Klonoa

Yeah, theres no waggling. I played it throughout with the classic controler.
  4. I want Scribblenauts, they had it on one of the episodes of Co-op and seeing it in action has put on my wanted list.

    Klonoa

In case you didn't know this is a remake of a little known but generally well recieved PS1 game. It comes from the platforming genre and presents itself in a colourful 2.5D world. I played the original but I can't remember if this has any new levels of if they've been remixed, I just remember the general themes so I would struggle to rate it against the original, so judging it on it's own merits is all I'm going to do. It starts off insultingly easy but it's not surprising given the type of game it is but a few worlds in it does start to make good use of it's main mechanic. You'll navigate it's levels only using two buttons and the D-pad, one button jumps and the other spits out you ring spirit.. I'm sure it makes sense in the story, I dunno, I skipped the cut scenes, they're dreadful. The main draw is this simple gameplay which is interestingly spread out through the game, using the ring spirit on enemies inflates them and then you can use them to throw at other enemies or used as a jumping aid, they can also be thrown in the background or forground at switches or what-not. All the puzzle stuff is used pretty creatively and it isn't without it's harsh platforming sections that are made more possible with Klonoa's 'Yoshi' style jump and hang in the air, the best bits come from having to quickly use the baddies around you as makeshift platforms to get about. To be brief, the game is great, the story is shit, music is nice, graphics are functional and it's short as fook with barely any reply value. Don't spend alot on it.
  6. I would imagine the file size would be bigger, it came on three CDs afterall but the game wasn't anymore expensive then any other title during it's original release, it might of been a fiver more. While a higher price point is expected because it is the mighty, fapping FF7 twice the cost of the others is laughable. I still have a my PS1 copy so I wasn't gonna download it and even if I didn't I don't think I would... maybe I would. Still, nice that it entertains to this day.
  7. I think someone with no prior experience with JRPG's are likely to get into FF7, it is a mainstream one at the end of the day. I think at the time the animation was pretty dire, it give it a certain charm though, like when a characters have mental fits. I like FF7, s'good. But I did see the price of it today on PSN, £7.99? what cunts.
  8. I've seen the last few. I think they're getting good again.
  9. Ummmm Play Mucho Mario's Epic's Metroid type thing.. Dark something Modern Warfare 2 Splinter Cell God of War 3 Bin 360's motion control.. Netto or whatever Milo All that fitness stuff from Nintendo I still haven't fot round to catching up, especially Sony's stuff but I thought it was a good turn out overall. Mario Galaxy 2 was a big surprise for me, I was never expecting another 'proper' Mario game, a Zelda, yes because it's been a while now since TP though it has been mentioned one is in the works. Splinter Cell is the biggest oppinion changer. I kind of enjoyed the first game but the one after left me bored and cold so I never bothered with the series after that, I'm loving this new Bourne direction though, it's now jumped to one of my most anticipated games. I don't hate the motion stuff from MS, in my current space situation I will never be able to use it and the Milo thing.. well, I have never, ever got Molyneux's work. It's just never the type of thing I look for in games.
  10. I'm listening now since I can't sleep because of the heat. With regards to Mass Effect I tend to think of it as a wide game. The story itself is pretty short but there is loads to do outside that. Like I mentioned elsewear, Ninja Gaiden II is now finished so no luck was needed. I did it on the easiest setting but I do still have a save game where I'm right at the end on the normal setting, doing that will unlock the hard one so I might try that but I'm expecting major frustration if I do. I'm thinking of doing the same with DMC4 but I feel a bit hack'n'slashed out. Dunno why I'm rambling, good podcast though.
  11. Yes you are. I don't have a clue what all this means but I like how they have gone out and just called it 'Space Marine'. What you see is what you get. No 'Spartans', Cogs' or whatever the fuck they call them in Killzone, just 'Space Marines'. It looks more of a general action game than a shooter which is what I thought it would be. A game beating the fuck out of things means I'm interested.
  12. I was surprised how well these games hold up too. I never played Crash Bandicoot 3 and downloaded it from the PSN store, I moved it to the PSP and find it's a perfect game for it. Graphics haven't aged nearly as badly as most PS1 games and it's simple but well focused gameplay still holds up.
  13. when i play this i always use the first gun you get... I don't mind the early weapons but the ones I really got used to were unlocked later on so it's just adapting again. But I guess the M16 with the red dot sight can never fail as a reliable weapon.
  14. Not been goin that much really. I've had the a few games of CoD 4's multiplayer which is still great and I found I got myself into it quite nicely which is surprising as when I stopped playing I'd only just reset my rank and playing it now is like when i first played it, with not having as good weapons as everyone else and all. Didn't stop me getting a few good killing streaks. The Klonoa remake on the Wii has been played a little too, I am just a few levels in and it's just as good as I remember, maybe a little easier. It was never hard but I thought there was more tricky bits. Anyway, lovely game. And I'm still plodding through Ninja Gaiden II, nearly at the end now and I'm deffinatly going to see those credits roll this time.
  15. I'm still really looking forward to Muramasa despite the review because you know what Edge are like. Except Excitebots the rest of the scores look quite rudamentory.
  16. Ka-bump. Anyone know where you can buy those rubber bits on inner-earphones, I keep losing mine.

    Mass Effect

They are quite good but that idea is taken from KoToR, the assasin robots did it in that and to more of a comical effect too due to them being evil bastards. I still keep meaning to finish my second play through and get my leg over because I couldn't even manage that at the time. I'm gunning for Ashley though because casual racism is like my fetish.
  18. Probably just fume behind this screen. Not that I'm bothered, I like Star Wars films but don't have that much passion for it and I don't think I've sat through an entire Indiana Jones film. So it wasn't about games then?
  19. I like games like X-Blades so despite some crap reviews I gave it a go, I thought I'd get some enjoyment out of it. Nope, worst game I've played in ages, I didn't know they still made them that bad.

    Mass Effect

I don't think ME2 will be out this year but there is Alpha Protocol which is very much in the same vain as Mass Effect, made by the guys who did the sequal to Bioware's KoToR which I thought was pretty decent. I'm really do want ME2 though because this is still my favourite game of this generation, Fallout 3 is close but it's not quite there.
  21. Motorstorm: PR and Rock Band 2 have seen some action this week and also Deadly Creatures which I think is good but I don't know if I would recomend it, you'll find details in its thread. Fallout 3 is still getting played being the demanding mistress it is but I've been getting a little bored of its pace so to mix things up I've randomly started playing Ninja Gaiden II again, I tried to continue from where I left off but I was to far in the game to really come back to it after such a long time. I've ended up starting again and despite it not being as good as it should of been I still think it stands up as an enjoyable action game as it is and hopefully I'll stick through it until the end this time.
  22. Oh shit, feedback. I forgot. It was a while ago I actually listened so I can't remember much of what was said. I just have this notion that is was informative and entertaining, l sort of remember the news bit which I liked but there wasn't much interesting news around. Doin that around E3 time should be good though.
  23. Yeah, Bill and ma boy Dennis do a good job but I think that a few lesser known and cheaper voice actors could have done an equally good job. Unless veteran actors are going cheap these days. I sort of forgot to say that it's a game I'm happy I played and despite problems, such as some dodgey collision detection and motion controls but I liked what I played. If it was just a little more polished and more work went into the dull parts of the game I think I'd be singing it's praises as a cult classic but it just doesn't quite make it.
  24. A slightly delayed thread but it's now here, here's some brief thoughts. I finished it the weekend just gone and it's a game that's left me very conflicted. I think I liked it overall but the moment I sit down and think about what's wrong with it the more I wonder why. Essentially it's an action game in the mold of God of War but the combat itself reminded me more of Yakuza.. but with spiders. As the Tarantula the game is a bit more adventure-y, mostly because you will be exploring the areas by zipping about using web and fights are less frequant with the spider and that's good because compared to the Scorpion you have much less attacks at your disposal and you have to be more liberal with the moves you do have, which I guess is kind of fun in itself but with the Scorpion's extended combos and QTE style finishers it does lend itself to a more traditional action experiance. Quite a big issue I have with the game is the levels themselves. On the most part they are dull and unforgivably linear. It makes this more apparant because they are sections of the game that are open and interesting and really give you a chance to scurry about in all the nooks and crannies like a little creature would and it's times like this that the game makes sense, it is still linear but it doesn't really feel it, like it should be. personally, I think the story really shines though. It's not brilliant but it does kind of remind me of Half-Life 2 in that sense, that also doesn't have a great story but how it's told makes it interesting. When you're just wandering around the desert doing Deadly Creature stuff and that big bastard, man, comes along and does his business. It's very fly on the wall, or Tarantula on the rock stuff and I came to really like how the story unfolded and also it coming from the perspective of two different nasties and how they all interact. The ending deffinatly cements my oppinion that these little fuckers can't be trusted.
  25. I have tons of Rush and I don't care who knows it.
