  1. You should have a vehicle by now. There are garages dotted about with a post and a console on it, if you check it you can spawn them in.
  2. Graham Coxen's Happiness in Magazines.. not as good as I remember. I'm thinking there is something wrong with me. But I'm really enjoying Signals by Rush. I've starting thinking my youthful grasp of exciting new music has left me and this is whats left..
  3. I put it on my iTunes, will listen to at some point. Can I have some artwork sor it, please? I need some.. anything, or I won't be able to sleep.
  4. I won't be, its deffinatly a keeper. I tried a little bit of co-op with a GTM'er earlier. We had no lag with two of us atleast so its nice to see that atleast it works, I usually like to check the items I pick up but knowing someone else is about I would just grab everything and check it later. You know hes doing the same. I thought this would be geared towards co-op like Left 4 Dead but you can have just as much fun on your own, more at your own pace too but on co-op it feels more like a modern take on Gauntlet. You're doing the exact same thing on your own as you are on multiplayer but the game feels so different. Strange.

    Forza 3

I'm not too bothered about the best cars, I'm going for those iconic mo-fos. I'm still deciding how to jazz it up. I only have a few issues with Forza 3. Like already mentioned the game revving the engine is a pain, it only leaves you a second or so of control before you have to start and when you don't have the assists on total control of your revs is important for a good start. I also think its stupid that you can do a set upgrade mid season but to do a manual one you have to leave and go back to the main menu, I like picking and choosing bits to go on my car and don't like using the quick option. Other than that its Forza isn't it, which is good.
  6. I did do a good mission that took place indoors. There was plenty of cover and routes for flanking, not that I need to be able to flank them, I'm playing as the Siren so I usually just turn invisible and run behind them anyway.
  7. Brutal Legend is what I've been playing most this week, I think its the mutts nuts. I haven't quite finished it, I think I'm on the last battle. The ending came around quite quickly, I think I just thought some more game was to come but never mind, I really enjoyed the ride. I also played some Borderlands which is pretty addictive, working through missions for cash, weapons and other useful items to build a character is something I'm finding compelling, I think I see the appeal of those MMOs now. EDIT: Badger reminded me I've been playing Machinarium earlier in the week too. I was enjoying it until I started to get a little lost but I just blame my inexperiance with the genre rather than it being too hard, it is a charmer, mind.

    Forza 3

I rolled my Yaris. I dived right in and turned all the assists off, kept it auto transmission though, I'm not that brave. I lost a few of my first races though 'cos I didn't get back into it as quickly as I thought. Its coming back though if a little slowly. I'm loving that Fiat 500 you unlock early on, it can be flung around nicely.

    Forza 3

Mine turned up today too, very surprising. I got Brutal Legend to finish first so I probably won't be playing it until thats done. Or might have a quick looksy.
  10. Later on the big battles that are a RTS come into play, early on and many of the side-missions are more along the lines of Overlord.

    Borderlands

Dunno how many of you are waiting for this one but hey ho. It plays like those old western RPGs I never played. Get job, go to place, kill baddie tell job giver. Or maybe collect plants and take them back to some dude. Fighting is done in the style of a FPS, its not like Fallout 3 though, this does actually feel like one, all the stat stuff behind the scenes is there but you don't notice or consider it mid battle like you may on Fallout 3. The AI is bollocks compared to what we have come acustomed to, missions and dialogue are given out in soulless text like it is in Marrowind and despite the great artwork it still feels far too brown. So why couldn't I put it down for hours? I'm not sure yet, I think its the looting aspect and the weapon collecting, because of the randomly generated weapons I'd keep exploring the area to find something rare and useful that I could show off when I do end up online. It is a stupid thing to be driven by but I'm loving all these juicy stats. Haven't tride the co-op yet, will do that around its general release.
  12. Its quite traditional, more along the lines of C&C. Theres resource management and an AI opponent with similar skills to yourself is trying to also take resources and take out your base. When these battles take place Eddie becomes a winged demon an in this state you can fly around very quickly and moniter the battlefield, its almost like you become a curser, albeit a curser that can jump down and fight too. The reviews I've seen just say these sections are crap and offer no real explanation, the lack of a mini map is mentioned and is fair enough, when large buildings are in the way following your troops can be a pain but the open stages (like most of them) are fine. Maybe compared to a dedicated RTS like Starcraft maybe it is lacking but then I wouldn't know. I think part of the hate towards them is they can be a stumbling block, especially when the rest of the game is quite easy and just plain fun, then you're hit with these battles which if you don't concentrate properly then you're gonna get fucked, then you're gonna get frustrated.
  13. I got a bit stuck on a stratergy section last night and all I've been doing at work is acting out variables of battle in my head and on paper. Is this a thing RTS players do?
  14. My Forza 3 hasen't been sent yet, looks like that won't be coming my way for a while. Good news though, my Borderlands turned up today and shall suffice. Thats if it isn't shit, naturally.
  15. That was a nice brief one this week. Can I just say about Uncharted 2 and my suspending disbelief comment, its just because I think the characters are so well done, grounded and likeable I struggle to see them in that game. I dunno if that came across in my original post... or maybe it did. *shrugs*
  16. Just been listneing to an old-ish Sigur Ros album because I'm a bit down, the one called () but it depressed the shit out of me even more so I turned it off. I've mostly been listening to Different Class again (no not myself, silly) by Pulp. It was a while ago I last listened to it but as an older and more mature gentleman it seems more relevant to me now. But yeah, its great, but still not as good as His 'n' Hers, which is amaaaaAAAaaazing...
  17. Its one of those point and click adventure games for your personal computer and it looks a little like this. It looks exactly like that, pretty ain't it. I know very little about this sort of think but it is different in the way its story is told, there is no dialogue are even words in this game, its all told with short animated scenes, crunches and bleeps from the characters and enviromental stuff, it all tells the tale perfectly, it almost makes me want to stop using language myself. The puzzles, I don't know how to guage these. You have logical puzzles like moving shapes and all that Layton type stuff and you also have your classic inventory item stuff too, this is where I get stuck. At the moment the last thing I managed to get hold of is a dead/stunned robot cat... I know a dude needs some sunflower oil... WTF is all my console raised brain can manage. I was doing okay at it actually, the game starts out as a single puzzle per screen, you solve it and then moved on. I liked that. Later it does open up and all the inventory items build up with a series of characters that want different items and the little robot man shakes his head at everything I try the items on then I go running back to Halo. In all seriousness though it is a good game and one I hope to see to the end, I think I will because it does have a hint system which is pretty much an ingame Gamefaqs, I won't use it too much though....
  18. I must of spoke to that guy half a dozen before I realised who it was. I haven't been able to put this down this weekend, its an awesome game. My metal knowledge is shit but I'm getting the odd reference. I'm also starting to enjoy the more RTS'y big battles now, when you switch off and just let things happen things start going wrong, its more active than you think, though RTS' usually catch me out like that. It can get tense anyhows. I'm well into the second section of the land also and I've just realised how to free the dragon statues so I've going back and freeing all the ones I've missed while running over Emo's and listening to Whitesnake. Also, if anyone hasen't found the Bring it Home guitar solo then get it quick, I don't think I'll see a cooler thing in a game this year.
  19. I've played better looking GameCube racing games.
  20. Its said that Micheal Jackson was supposed to do the music in Sonic 3, others say Micheal Jackson did do it and kept it quiet because he may or may not be a peado. I liked the ice stage zone music, though. Play Sonic & Knuckles as Sonic... more levels.
  21. I'm verging on buying this but something stops me. The trouble I had with the last Uncharted game is I had major trouble suspending my disbelief enough to enjoy it, I appreciate Nathan is a charming character and different to the types that normally star in this type of thing but there was something about a wise-cracking clutz taking out legions of mercenaries without breaking a sweat that stumped my enjoyment. Its like Nathan Drake is staring in the wrong game, maybe a point and click is more his thing. I know a shooter needs something different to a gruff space marine but Nathan ain't it. Anyway, is this still the case?
  22. Woah. I have an E-mail saying my Borderlands has been despatched!! Its not out 'til next week! I hope the postie gets it to me before he takes a few angry days off. The actual strike is next week ain't it?
  23. Some RPG thingamybobs would atleast make fighting random folks more worthwhile. I know the RTS part of the game isn't that well done but it is workable in a simple way and I thing the game would lose something without it. Its all about metal and starting a revolution, getting loyal rock worshippers behind you and taking down evil. If it was a different type of game (like a hack'n'slash) but just had that stuff bubbling in the cut-scenes then it would lose something, well I think anyway. Fuck that stuff anyway, tis fun and has made me lol on enough occasions and as far as I'm concerned it is Jack Black's finest performance. Looking forward to Tim's next project.
  24. The games I have been playing are LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias and I think it is very good but I'm stuck which I think is a bit annoying but I still think its very good. The other game I played aswell is Mario & Luigi: Bowsers Inside Story which I think is very good and fun and very funny, it makes me laugh alot because it is well writted. Honourable mention goes to the Bayonetta demo on the Japanese store, I must of played it three times in a row learning the combat system. I think its so awesome I can't find the words to explain it, I don't think words exist to explain it. The only way I can express my love for Bayonetta is to rapidly rub my thighs in a Vic Reeves-esque way.
