  1. Very happy to see Remake so high in that list. OG VII is too low though. Whereas IX and XV are waaaaaay too high. Not played XII because the combat system really doesn’t appeal from what I’ve heard so can’t really comment on that being at the top.
  2. Shitinghell. How did I forget that? Excellent shot, unbelievably good opening. Closest I’d come to ever shedding a tear from a game. Until Part 2 funnily enough.
  3. God of War 3 Mass Effect 2 Onimusha 3 (CGI cut scene) Uncharted 2 Ones off the top of my head that were amazing. Half Life 1 stands out too just because it was the first game I ever played which did a cinematic gameplay opening.
  4. Ah so using the incorrect weapon could be hampering my progress there. I had no idea it had those kind of weaknesses at ply in the worlds. Bit of a concern regarding world 3 though with how useless mine was in that world. Havent got any of the type of weapons required for W4 so good excuse to go back to the other worlds.
  5. They look perfect for the job. Although how do you release grip without dropping them or having them swing from the strap?
  6. 3-1 done. Once I figured out how to get passed that bridge (was way overthinking it!) it was easy sailing. Started 4-1, difficulty is starting to jump up now. Im genuinely starting to worry if I’m going to get stuck due to my character spec later though. My main magic attack is already basically useless, this was the case throughout all 3-1 even though Ive levelled it up quite a bit. I have unlocked a new spell from using a Demon Soul which does a lot more but uses loads of MP while still not being powerful enough to warrant it. My strength is decent but still quite lacking and need more health and defence when going in close but my stats in those areas are shocking! Think I’ll go back to 1-2 now as I just seem hopelessly outmatched by the skeletons.

    PlayStation Plus

Wow. That’s some good shit. Game Pass is even good for Playstation owners it seems. Doubt theyd have given these away for free along with the incredibly strong Plus games recently without MS making big plays with GP. Good times Edit - seen that Horizon includes the DLC too. Even better deal. Played the main game but not DLC so will be giving that a go.
  8. Fuck yes!!!! Will definitely be picking this up tomorrow. ?
  9. Great collection, can sell my switch copy of Octopath now too.
  10. Shame you skipped the dialogue at the end. Some of my favourite moments happened then. But I loved it all the way through too.
  11. Might finally play Skyrim. I say for the 100th time.
  12. No I did 1-1 then 2-1. Did 2-1 without dying and beat the . I’m on 3-1 now doing the prison. Going to go back and do 1-2, 2-2 etc when I hit a wall doing this route. Not gone back to it yet but like I say doing ok in 3-1, just got lost now I’m on 1f and got a bit archer statue firing along a bridge.
  13. So what you’re saying is you find a way to avoid engaging with these parts of the game because they’re boring? ?? The thing is those games you’re on about were just too easy and the tutorials were really intrusive to the point it felt your hand was being held throughout. So these games were a breathe of fresh air. However, the problem with those games was never the checkpoints, it was just how easy they were. But this game isn’t even that hard really - especially with the royal class. But what it does instead is waste your time and test your patience. Not necessarily your skill level. Which is what I have issue with. I don’t know what making you repeat a 10 minute section because you fell down a hole because of poor lighting in a prison improves? Anyway, as I may have given away there I’m on the first section of the 3rd level now. Completed the 1st big bosses in the first 2 archstones. Didn’t die at all in the 2nd level which was surprising but most enemies in that didnt even agro so was pretty easy. Reached the 1st floor of the prison but got a bit lost around a big archer statue thing so having another break. Just another quick question regarding spending skill points on my character. I’m putting most of my souls into strength with some in magic. Will I fuck myself up later in the game doing this? Am I better just specialising in one? Or will I be ok spending some in both?
  14. Oh God yea, how did I forget about Rogue likes? Apart from Dead Cells which is amazing, I’ve not liked any at all.
  15. Made a start. I’m going to try and push through this time but I’m already wavering after a hour. I ended up going Royal class. Firstly I’m not sure if I’ve already made a mistake here. There’s no challenge to the normal enemies at all, I’m basically not engaging with them. Stand back and shoot. They die. Easy but not fun. When I have gone to my melee weapon and I’m teasing out enemies and strafing round and stabbing them in their back is really satisfying. As is the parry - I fucking love that. So before I start again as the Knight, can I spec the Royal to be more melee but with magic as a back up for really tough parts? Or should I just change because I’m not finding using magic fun at all in comparison to the melee. Now my main issue. I’ve died 3 times but 2 of those felt like bullshit. One I fell into a hole. Fair enough. One was from a very OP enemy who I stumbled across while exploring. The second bullshit death was on the famous bridge. I was at the beginning, first time the fire missed me. I didn’t run straight away though due to a enemy so stayed back to let him flame the bridge again and the 2nd time, even though I was stood in the same place it hit and killed me for some reason. The fuck? Once it put me back at the beginning of the level again I decided to turn it off to try later. In any other game this would be rightly slagged off for being shit checkpointing. Don’t understand why these games get away with it. Not like I’m learning anything from these beginning fodder enemies anymore. I’ve gone through them 3 times with ease. It’s just boring doing it again. I unlocked a small shortcut but I’m still having to repeat a large section. Like I said, I’m going to try and push through this time and see if it clicks but man. It’s sooo boring doing the same long sections repeatedly. Looks good at least.
  16. Theres been a few over the years but the biggest, most recent one is definitely Zelda BotW. Lots of people count it as one of, if not the best of all time. I just couldn’t get on with it at all. I will say I did actually enjoy a lot of what I played but the stamina meter was the main deal breaker for me for reasons I’ve explained before. Huge environment to traverse but you can only run a car length - fuck that. I also found the controls really counter intuitive and felt like I was always pressing the wrong buttons, nothing was where I’d expect it to be. I would have gotten used to that at some point though, but still, any annoyance after the stamina bullshit was more irritating than it should be. More vague but I’ve also not got along with any looter shooter - Destiny, Division etc. I’ve hated all Battle Royale games. All recent Ubisoft open world games. Basically all GaaS type ones I’ve bounced off. It’s been a tough gen for me since they’ve all been the majority of games last gen along with remasters. Thank God for Sony’s first party games and indies. Animal Crossing is another. So tedious. & the camera is so zoomed in it makes it difficult for me to play. I don’t know what people see in that game at all. Edit - thought of yet another. Bloodborne. Making me repeat the same 10-15 minutes of tedious normal enemies I can beat easily to reach a boss who can kill me in 1 shot before I’ve learnt any of his patterns isn’t much fun.
  17. If I say I prefer melee to throwing magic balls at enemies in games would you still recommend Royal over Knight?

    WRC 9

Agree completely. In the narrow ones it can be just a bit too easy to clip the side and fuck up the entire race. Not much fun, especially with how squirrelly some of the cars can be.
  19. I had the same issue at the same point! Remember getting really annoyed at it. Think I figured it out accidentally. Need to know it for a couple of the green stars too.
  20. I can’t stand kids in media for the most part & hated the one in 2 so bounced off it really hard after mostly enjoying the original and spin off. Hopefully they have a much more mature character in this one.

    Gears of War 3

Yea the Karen Traviss Gears novels are genuinely great. As is Gears 3. Glad you’re enjoying it!
  22. Right, which class should I be? I’ve heard Royal a few times but I don’t want to pick that class just because it’s easy. I don’t want to feel like I’m just cheating my way through. & Is that class actually fun? From what I’ve heard that class nerfed in later games too so if I do get into this it’s going to actually make future ones harder when picking a different class?
  23. Don’t feel too bad about that one. Halo is one of the most overrated franchises in history. I played them as they were released and felt the same even back then.
  24. Hopefully the fast loading and shiney graphics help me overlook the bullshit and learn to love these type of games. I keep trying.
  25. ? Just beat me to it. Edited just as you posted that.
