I liked it a lot.
Some of the dialogue was super cheesy at times, and some of the sub stories went a bit along the fan service lines with the women getting all flustered around the MC.
The combat is real nice and reminiscent of the Tales of... series so if you like them you'll eat it up. However, it suffers from truly horrendous frame rate drops when a lot's happening in battle (magic explosions etc) and the game comes to a complete crawl at times, especially in the later chapters.
Other than those complaints though I had a blast. Fun characters and story, nice combat, interesting (albeit small) world, and it only took me around 32 hours so wasn't too taxing. There's a lot of extra stuff to do too, but I had to get it finished for a review video so only really dipped my toe into that.
Personally I'd get Octopath Traveller and Dragon Quest first, then pick this up in a sale for around £20. Hopefully by then the frame rate issues will be patched out too, and for £20 you'll be very happy with it.
