  1. UK Chart, week ending May 23rd 2020
  2. Good to know, hopefully I’ll finally hit Zanarkand today and get the Airship.
  3. Yeah I won’t be watching either. Review embargo is June 13th 08:01 BST
  4. Have to say I’ve really not enjoyed it the last 6 hours or so. Now up to 46 hours total. It just seems the exemplary pacing the game’s had so far has been abandoned and instead it’s just been dungeon after dungeon with a few bosses thrown in for good measure, just found it a real slog. I love the combat in this game but in this section there just feels like there’s been too much of it, there hasn’t been anything really to break it up aside from the boss fights. First of all I started out exploring off the beaten path after the Rock Golem and found a cool hidden cave system. Ventured down here and eventually bumped into Yojimbo, didn’t know what to answer when he asked his questions so I just chose the ‘Summomer’ response. I looked it up after hoping there was some way to gain his services for free but it seems no matter what you have to bung him some cash, so I parted with 228K Gil to secure his services. After this I began my ascent up Mount Gagazet but didn’t make it far before encountering a Ronso roadblock. A boss fight ensued with Kimahri against his bullies - Biran and Yenke - which was another cool puzzle fight which I unfortunately failed to master after a few tries. So, I looked online, realised what I had to do and managed into defeat them on my next try. Lots more combat ensued up a snow covered Mount Gagazet. Then turns up again out the blue. Couldn’t really understand this, I get he’s basically undead now - and presumably can go where he wants - but this fight didn’t really fit in with the overall plot for me, it didn’t make sense. I struggled a bit more in this fight than in my previous encounter with him but I managed it after going back and making sure most of my aeons were in overdrive. After this a cool dream sequence ensued. Onward through another dungeon, a couple of light puzzles and then I reach another boss battle. This one really had me scratching my head and on this occasion the tips I read online didn’t really seem to help - as Auron’s ‘Threaten’ would fail after a few successful attempts - as the boss would just use Curaga and end up healing almost all the damage I could inflict on him. Instead I used Dark Buster with Wakka and Bio with Lulu and just kept on applying these when he would use Esuna, along with Tidus’ Hastega and Yuna’s aeons these were all very handy and ensured he went down relatively easily once I got the hang of it. I left it there and will pick up where I left off tomorrow, hopefully I’ll finally reach the final Temple and Zanarkand. Not a great last 6 hours but in the scheme of things it’s not a big deal as long as it’s not a massive combat slog with no reprieve for the remainder of the game I’ve got left. Some pics:
  5. I saw the ruins and just thought Zanarkand ? didn’t even spot Ixion.
  6. Here’s my crack at this in no particular order: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - The game that kept me going when I was at my lowest point in life, it’s no exaggeration to say it saved my life. Sonic the Hedgehog - The first game I ever played at my childminders house at 5 years old, without this I’m not sure I’d be into games in the first place. Halo: Combat Evolved - My first console FPS and the first that felt as fully functional (and in many ways exceeded) the PC FPS’ of the era. The Last of Us - Gaming’s Citizen Kane moment. The first time for me that a games story was every bit as good (if not better) than TV shows/movies, with fully realised, real, relatable characters, fantastic performances, dialogue and voice acting. It showed that games can be elevated to a level higher than just aping Hollywood popcorn action flicks. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare - Revolutionary at its time, pretty much invented the modern PvP multiplayer experience we know today. League of Legends - Created the MOBA genre. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - One of my first and easily the most impressive 3D games I played. I’ll never forget the moment I left Kakariko village and saw the huge expanse of Hyrule in front of me was a truly phenomenal awe inspiring moment. Wipeout - Helped put gaming into the mainstream consciousness with the PlayStation. Wii Sports - Once again brought gaming to the forefront of the mainstream consciousness, this time showing that gaming can be for everyone and not just for the young males. Pong - The catalyst for gaming to become as popular as it is today.
  7. CoD WWII is one of the good ones. The campaign is well worth a go.
  8. Probably my Top 3 (Fallout 3, Skyrim and TLOU). I picked up Fallout 3 second hand on eBay about a year or so after it came out, I had never finished an RPG before that and I hated what little I played of Oblivion. It was a revelation to me and went on to become my favourite game of all time. Similar story with Skyrim. I liked Fallout but was trepidatious about picking up another Elder Scrolls game after having a bad time with Oblivion. Played it and the rest was history, completely lost all sense of time and place playing that game, incredible. With TLOU I always thought Naughty Dog were a little overrated due to never quite loving the original Uncharted trilogy as much as others. With TLOU I had no idea what to expect at all, and I was absolutely blown away with it, the opening to that game to this day is one of the very best ever, it astounded me and had me in tears within the first 30 minutes, what a game.
  9. Haha @one-armed dwarf I’m not sure I’d have time to play any of the others if I played this. I have downloaded it though. Zanarkand I’m guessing?
  10. You’ll be getting both of those, almost guaranteed. I’m pretty confident another R&C will be out soon as well, possibly even at the PS5’s launch this year.
  11. Luckily I had a viewer tell me where all the missable Al Bhed Primers were in Bikanel whilst I was streaming the other week otherwise I wouldn’t of had a clue any were there or even missable ? so fingers crossed I’ll be ok for that.
  12. Ah yeah, fuck that then. I will just get the Celestial Weapons that aren’t too much of a ball ache to do and some of the other side stuff like finding the extra Aeons, Al Bhed Primers etc. Then.
  13. Yeah, not sure I’m gonna do that one ? I was considering going for the Plat though as it doesn’t seem that difficult, my only concern is the time requirement (particularly with the Blitzball stuff) and doing that lightning bolt thing. Finding some of the Celestial Weapons sounds pretty fun though from what I just looked up. Are they that much more OP than any other weapons in the game?
  14. I think so, I had fun with it whilst just trying to beat the trainer, saw the Trophy in the trophy list and thought I’d see if I could do it. For me, it was similar to the pull up/squat trophies from FF7R, I just really wanted to do it. I didn’t even know about the reward for doing it until afterwards ? but yeah it’s handy I’ve got the maguffin needed for Tidus’ Celestial Weapon.
  15. Well 9 hours have passed since my last update and I’ve only just left the Calm Lands ? up to about 40 hours played now. Spent a bunch of time just exploring the area as it’s a vast place to explore compared to previous areas. Was having fun going around battling enemies, doing some grinding along the way and opening a few crates here and there. There is actually quite a lot to do here though! Firstly I found the Fiend Arena guy so then set about capturing all the fiends he wanted, once that was done I ran into the Chocobo Trainer and had a lot of fun doing all the training challenges. The controls took a little getting used to and the birds can be quite difficult to dodge at times but I had a lot of fun with it and picked up my Chocobo License trophy. Later on I ran into Belgemine and had another Summoner battle with her. Once she was defeated she mentioned a mysterious secret temple somewhere, I looked this up online and discovered it was right around the corner so set about trying to find it. I hopped on a Chocobo and soon discovered the beautiful Remiem Temple. Really loved this whole little area, felt really mysterious and like such a hidden gem. I didn’t really know what was here aside from Belgemine so I sought her out first and battles all the Aeon’s she had, defeating every one (struggled with Bahamut but all the rest went down easy enough). I then moved on to the Chocobo Race here and couldn’t quite get my head around how to win for awhile, had a quick look online to get some tips and managed it on my next try, I had a look at the trophy list and thought the trophy to get 5 chests and win the race was do able. Watched a few videos on technique and managed it after a few tries. Whilst looking at the trophy list I saw there was another race trophy, this time for the Chocobo Trainer race, which you have to get a time of 0.0.0. This seemed impossible but I thought I’d give it a go, I was at it for AGES, probably a good hour + just practicing and trying to get the perfect run together where I get a lot of Balloons but manage to avoid all the damn birds. I finally fucking did it! I did a bit of googling again to see what the Cloudy Mirror was that I got from the Remiem Temple Race and saw it was related to Tidus’ Celestial Weapon that was also locates in the Calm Lands. Followed the steps mentioned online to first go back to Macalania Woods, then help find a woman’s husband and kid. After this was done the Cloudy Mirror turned into the Celestial Mirror, I then followed the tips online to head back to the Calm Lands and find the spot that held the Caladbolg. From what I’ve read I don’t think I can use it right now so I won’t get to equip it yet, but I’m still pleased I got it. After all this dossing about I thought I better carry on forward. Made my way North out of the Calm Lands where the mission marker was pointing and straight into a boss fight against a Rock Golem. This was a pretty tough one as well, he had tons of health and his attacks did a lot of damage, was really scratching my head for awhile but after being a bit more sensible and tactical with my use of Hastega, Armour Break, Cheer and Dark Buster along with some help from Yuna’s aeons I managed it after a few tries. Carried on exploring here for a little while before calling it a day. Have to say as much as the linearity hasn’t bothered me, it has been so nice to have a little freedom to explore, find some hidden little bits and pieces dotted around, do some fun activities and find some mysterious kooky little areas. I absolutely adored the Calm Lands, it’s back to business next time round though.
  16. Got to disagree there, he played so much shite and only played stuff on 1 platform. He only ever cared about the numbers.
