  1. Batman will always be better than Superman, simply because Batman has no super powers - he's just a fucking nutter. If you havent read them already you guys should check out the crossovers that came out years ago - Batman Versus Aliens and Superman Versus Aliens (Yes as in the Aliens who normally fight Ripley) The Superman ones not that good from memory but there's some good parralells to be drawn from them, Superman goesBlind because hes so strong, so when he punches an Alien they explode and get Acid blood everywhere, but Batman not being that strong but being a complete nut-bar just knocks aliens clean out when he chins 'em On the subject of crossover comics, Robocop Versus Terminator was a good 'un
  2. My DS, Wii and 360 have all been starved of attention for quite awhile now. The last game i bought for my 360 was GTAIV and i battered my way through the single player game, finished it with both endings then left it be. For the Wii the last game i bought was Mario Kart and i only finished all cups on 50cc before leaving it alone... As for the DS i havent touched that in months. There is definitly a slump in the quality of games lately, and i like many others have considered parting with my Wii but i just cant bring myself to do it. I really want to play SSMB but just dont see myself giving it enough time to warrant buying it at full price. I think my reasons for keeping it at the moment are purely for my hopes and dreams - Im holding out for a new Wii 'built from the ground up' Zelda game, and id also love to see a new F-Zero. As for my 360, theres a good few games i really want but just cant be bothered to buy as i have so many games left to complete in my collection. The other major factor for me is Xbox Live, this wont bode well with other peoples experiences but i believe it to be a bag of shite. I really really want Battlefield Bad Company, purley for the online side but cannot bring mydelf to pay £40 for a service that i cant log into 80% of the time. My interent isnt slow by any means but i seem to be the only person it doesnt let on most of the time. That and the fact i dont see why microsoft dont use dedicated servers for the service we PAY for when sony do it free of charge. Just over a month ago i let a mate persude me to try the World of Warcraft 10 day trial, and i must admit i got hooked. I'd played it before but didnt agree with paying monthly for the service, but these days it seems a fair deal. I bought the game and expesion pack for under £20 and have just finished the months trial i got with it, and recently got a 60 day card for my birthday. Now it just makes sense to me as i really enjoy the game, and most of my spare time goes into playing it, so paying about £8 a month is justifed as it keeps me entertained. For near the price of a new game i can get 4 months worth of WoW, that i waill play for those months - How many games that cost 30-40 quid keep you entertained for 4 months?! It is a sad time for consoles, and i hate to say it but im now starting to agree that the Wii isnt powerful enough. If it was near the spec of a PS3 or 360 then companies could release the games like Bad Compnay or Bioshock on the Wii, and providing the controls were right the Wii version would be the best. At the moment im only keeping my afore mentioned consoles for the hope of the future - Id hate to sell my Wii then the next day Nintendo announce a new Zelda game, and the 360 has my heart set on Resident Evil 5 - im not missing that party for anyone! And the DS... well, i still want to complete FFIII but cant bring myself to play such a grind-fest... and i dearly hope that someday we'll see FFVII on the DS. Of if only!
  3. I picked up Painkiller for the PC around two years ago, id heard something about it being similar to Doom and it was cheap. Im confused though, is there two versions of this game? But anyhow, the one i have i good for a laugh, it by no mean breaks any bounderies of the FPS world, but it does have som nice weapons, satisfying kills, and some HUGE bosses. That was quite a good video game moment for me, when the first main boss appears in the cemetery and he completley dwarfs you! Might have to dig this out, but i believe ive borrowedit to someone who's since moved away...
  4. Cant wait. The F1 games were one of the reasons id buy a PS3, good news for my wallet thatits now multi format!
  5. My first memory is of some game on the zx spectrum +3, cant remember the name of it but it was a side scoller and you went round as a postman breaking into postboxes. I dont really know much more about it cos i never got very far! Remember playing it loads though. Another bastard hard game was Knightmare - again on the speccy - based on the citv gameshow thing. Anyway, it was solid and i could never get past the second room.
  6. Ive heard that you can unlock special abilitys from the online dating, like getting over a 80% likenes rating unlocks health regeneration or something... I think im getting close to the end of the main story. Cant wait for the DLC already!
  7. Yeah, its true that infinity ward didnt do the third one. Im not dissing the third one, i just dont think its as good as the second. It s still a bloody great game but i think adding more vehicle bits and the hammering of button to defend yourself bits just take a little away from it tho...
  8. The only way it lets you know you can explore the final island iswhen you gat an achievement for 'exploring liberty city' or something like that. Any way when you get it you can go anywhere. Ive just done a mission that involves nicking a chopper. Boy,its funtrying to land one of those
  9. The fitness and skills were a good idea, it was just annoying that you lost fitness for not being in the gym every three seconds! Im about 15 hours in and havent tried any multiplayer yet...
  10. Yeah the one thing the Wii needs is some action games! It really needs some decent FPS's to lure over the 360 owners, cos lets face it Red Steel showed FPS's had potential on the Wii then Prime 3 showed us how to do it right. Even some more platform type games along the lines of Paper Mario wouldnt go amiss - but i suppose the lack of platformers is an issue that stretches across all formats at the moment. I just hope the Wii's potential to be a 'Revolution' doesnt get drowned by the creation of the casual gamers phenomenon.
  11. Its all a matter of perception, Nintendo arent really ignoring the hardcore gamers - theyve given us Paper mario, mario galaxy, mario kart, mario strikers, metroid prime 3, zelda and smash bros brawl (okay, mostly mario games...) that is quite a lot of 'hardcore' games by nintendo's standard its just that there is a massive influx of casual games being pumped out. Most third party developers are guilty of choosing the easy route of churning out a telly addicts game or some other gumpf that people will buy - the point is theres hardly and hardcore games that are relesed by third party developers. I've seriously considered trading in my wii over the last few months as theres not much out to hold my attention - and to be honest i havent traded it in because the only thing i could use that amount of money to buy is a PS3, and theres not enough games on that to warrant it sitting next to my 360 at the moment. The thing with the wii is its potential. Potential that most developers overlook in favour of the quick buck. Im sure it would be possible to port GTAIV and Res 5 but its just not worth the development time and money. I cant see the Wii's popularity fading any time soon, and i dont think its a fad - I think the casual gamer market will stay. The question is will Nintendo (and the third parties for that matter) start catering more for the hardcore fanbase, before they all decide to jump ship and go with a sony or microsoft machine.
  12. I am having so much fun on the single player... i want to try out the multiplayer cos gta multi is gonna be wierd! My Live subscription ran out on sunday (my internet got connected on the saturday - d'oh!) so for the time being im just gonna use 48 hour trials and stuff, although i did get a month trial with gta Thats gonna be my mission for tomorrow i think

    Dead Rising

This game is certainaly worth getting - especially on the cheap! The game is alot of fun, but unfortunatley you do need to be quite levelled up before it becomes great. My tactic was tospend my first 3 days (the length of the game) driving in and out the car park running down thousands of zombies so i wa sufficiantly levelled when i came to start properly. My gripe with this game is that i spend my first time levelling, tried to do the missions the second time and failed, them onmy third attempt i did all the missions and somehow didnt unlock the extra days... was a bit peevedso i gave up on it. Apart from that it is so much fun killing zombies with different weapons... and you can unlock mega man's gun!
  14. Yeah, by that fitness place and tesco's. They did say theyhad copies left when ipicked mine up t 9.30 this morning... said they wernt as busy as they expected when they opened specially at midnight last night
  15. I think blockbuster in wrexham still has some copies left if your desperate Hendiddly-o. Well, gotit this morn and has played it for a good few hours. Its good but im a bit lost. I dont waht to do too much of the story too fast and i dont want to just wander round aimlessley.... Ahhh! the desicions of a sandbox world!!
  16. How does the online matches on this work? I notice on the advert that you use a mii,but do you still select a character or do you play as your mii?
  17. That is awesome! The animation is excellent, and subtly witty as well Ahh so many good memories of my A1200 flood back! *sniff*
  18. It was an awesome machine. Such a shame it was overlooked. It'll be tough for me to pick a top five so ill have to mull it over One game that would certainly be in there is Rogue Squadron II, it wa such a playable game and the learning curve might of been a bit harsh but getting gold on all the levels was so satisfying! At the time the graphics blew me away, seems daft now, but those graphics made it so convincing that you were in star wars! A game i thought took more stick than it deserved was Mario Sunshine. Okay so it didnt re-wite history, bu tit was damn fun to play! Mario Kart was also slated a bit but i liked the two riders (or at least the startagies that having two items unleashed) and i liked baby park - it was fastand frantic Ahh there was so many great games, it had the best ratio of good > shit games than any of the other consoles. I thnk quite a big deciding fator in ints downfall was the fact it didnt get all of the multi platform ports, such as colin mcrae, black, grand theft auto, etc.
  19. Not a bad week at all, shame i havent got the internet at the moment. Probably for the best actually i'd probably download Wonder boy, play it for five minutes then never look at it again ...
  20. I think my votes will be going toward: Blue Dragon PGR 4 and probably GTA 4... Hopefully Mario Kart will feature in sompart of my month...
  21. Awesome game. Already own it though. One of the achievements is meant to be for finishing the game without using a continue. Talk about impossible!
  22. This is looking rather goodbut i think im going to abstain form the karting goodness for awhile i reckon cos moneys a bit tight. Unless i can finish something to trade-in... Hmmm....
  23. UPDATE 04/04/08 Yoshi's Cookie (NES) 500 points Another week brimming with choice of games
  24. Which Battlefield is that, the Bad Company one? Might hold out for that, but EA are renowned for releasing unfinished games that needs patching Hopefully it wont be that bad as its on a console... And Bad Company aint out till June... Maybe if i see Fuel of War cheap i'll pick it up...
  25. I dont know what happened but last night something clicked in my head and i really want to get this now. Part of is that i have a hankering for some good old fashioned Battlefield 2 multiplayer - as when its done right its awesome - and Frontlines fits the bill as its made by a group of people who used to build mods for BF2. So hopefully Oliath, ill have this next week and we shall kick some serious bottom.
