Game reviews and game criticism, when taken literally as terms, are completely different things; the way games are reviewed by almost all outlets are subjective, there are assumptions about the person playing and how the game in question relates to others in the same genre - criticism (once again in a literal sense) is a lot more objective, and would speak to the fundamental principles driving the experience. For example, it would be utter nonsense for a review to challenge the presence of guns in a call of duty game - that is the cornerstone of the entire game, though from a criticism point of view, it would be a very interesting angle from which to explore both the game and the genre itself.

On a slight tangent, the Irrational Interviews podcast (where they talk a lot about Bioshock) is really cool - they have other creatives debate the craft of gaming with Ken Levine. Its awesome.

Battlefield 3 is done on consoles, its over. Grats EA/ DICE.

This^^^ This also, and yet I still went ahead and bought it. I'm terrible at keeping attention with games that don't really have a point or ending. What are you craftin'?

Some interesting observations about the migratory nature of MMO players during this Quick look for the new kid on the block, also a lot of chatter about the Old Republic from the people in the world chat - at least the ones who are not talking about having sex with children, which is something of a issue caused by Tera...

http://www.1up.com/news/the-old-republic-going-strong-subscriber-drop Interesting article from 1up.com - are any of us playing this now? The fact I had to scroll through 5 or 6 pages suggests probably no...?

http://playstationlifestyle.net/2012/05/10/vitas-golden-week-not-so-golden/ People are looking to E3 as the Vita make and break; MS and Sony have both said no new consoles, so hopefully Sony go to town with the Vita, right? I still want one, but I'm waiting for the price drop...

£17! Nice buy - I want to get this to Let's Play it, but its not going for less than £30 online, and you have to buy the last act as DLC to get the proper ending

I've messed about with this on the PC - is anyone buying this on the 360? I would be interested in building with a bunch of cool dudes, but it doesn't hold too much interest for me otherwise...
