  1. Players to confront alien invasion in Call of Duty: Ghosts extinction mode. The leaked image pointed to the existence of an extinction mode in Call of Duty: Ghosts that would see players taking on aliens. A teaser trailer released by Activision in the wake of the leak now seemingly confirms that the leak is real and that Call of Duty: Ghosts will include an extinction mode that will pit players against an alien force. Whether this will replace the zombie modes that have appeared in a number of Call of Duty's isn't clear, but this seems likely.Has this made you think differently since Zombies are to be replaced bt ET.I shall cancel my pre order for ps4 now due to alien intervention and a lack of respect to the living dead ;)Ghost!
  2. In reponse to the dedicated servers cross platform, but a little vague on the PlayStation situation!Still looking forward to a few gamer nights with Retro and Sibernet and any one else!Ghost!
  3. Disappointments of this generation of consoles,me noggin tells me game stability is much worse than before. Remember when it was a case of pop in the disc and play? Yeah, not so much now, its pop in the disc, install the game, patch the game, maybe patch the system (and you cant use certain services until you do that), get connected online then play. In some ways its actually worse than the PC, it also looks like something that will get worse this gen with the PS4 and X1.Every game must be installed, yes installations do improve performance but the same effect can be obtained by clever use of resources and HDD caching like they used to do on the xbox, for fruit and nut sake PC games from steam dont need to be installed when downloaded, once downloaded they are ready to go. I suspect the patching situation will also become pretty shocking as time goes by,making the PC blush. at least the PC, as a platform, has an excuse. Also of this generation is the distinction between DLC and expansions. DLC like skyrim addon content an expansion, good though not all the extra content for skyrim was good, but you get the idea, paying extra to unlock content already on the disc and buying stupid little things, classic example, horse armor or an absorbant tea towel or maybe a framed photo of Terry Nutkins stroking a badger, but, thankfully most devs now get the message but some are still extracting the urine! Its well Fruit and nut!
  4. Got this with October's value for money ps plus, it was under my gaming radar but if you love RPGs, then Dragons Dogma is no exception, fantastic world, free roaming, enemies around every corner, the dark arisen addition includes the original game and practically every single add on. What's not to like? fantastic storyline, fantastic graphics, the pawn system is also simply amazing, if you have friends that have Dragons Dogma, use each others main pawns to gain each other some money and experience! Im pretty much on level 22 and its still hard as Phil Mitchells knuckles. Overall, the game is utterly brilliant, not a walk in the park, but it's not as hard as demon souls either If you want a realistic game where the story line is great, the character customization is unique and is a fantastic free-roamer... Well fruit and nut!

    Deep Down

Concerning the recent news on free to play for Deep Down, you can get balance issues, or pay to win, and they get tempted to design the game to squeeze money out of you, though that happens in some full priced games already with all the micro transactions.I do think while they are greedy, they can't be stupid enough to take the p**s too much, some companies can do it right and make lots of money of selling crap I'll never buy like hats and costume colours.I'd love to go back to the days of getting everything in the box for a set price, and get a massive add on pack like half life did, with essentially a whole new game, but these days you would find micro transactions and 3 hour add on's for a tenner, certain weapons you only get if you pre-order. it has already gone to s**t. at least with free to play I'm not paying any money for a crap 4 hour game anymore,I have hope, but then...it is Capcom!Fruit and nut!

    PS Vita

My impatience has always got the better of me when it comes to gaming and particularly the handheld and more recently the vita!ve already traded twice, thinking the vita was another failed piece of kit,and my at a beautiful piece of kit!But in recent times it seems since the news of the ps4, Sony has really invested in the future of the vita and especially with the press conference this morning! It seems it could have a great relationship with the ps4 and with so many mainstream titles and indie titles in the pipeline it seems I may have to invest once again! The vita really is a gaming console in ones hands,it just needed some tlc from Sony!Bambi!
  7. Once again thanks to ps plus, played through and completed this title and fabulous it was too!The western RPG genre is my cuppa and this exemplified this,a little lethargic at first but after some patience it really got me involved in this adventure.I took the role of the Mage and what a satisfying experience that was, highly recommended experience,it went under my radar at first with the likes of the witcher 2 around but thanks to ps plus I had a rewarding gaming time with this RPG!Ghost!
  8. Indeed Ed,Red Dead restored my faith in Rockstar and the open world genre,it was engrossing and was a real trip in the wild west, wouldn't mind getting my hands in it again!Im hoping gta5 delivers the goods, time will tell.I'll keep hold of my ps3 for now,the 360 has taken a back burner!lWe need to get some gamer nights sorted as its been a while, hopefully the ps4 will bring that back!Keep us informed if you have any cod ghost deals upcoming!Tango Sucka!

    Mafia II

This has been added to the ps plus games recently and I was so enthralled I completed it within a week.Unlike saints row or gta4 I was immersed in this 40's and 50's gangster world,it was a refreshing change!I thought it had a great story, characters enviroment and especially the soundtrack!I Think the syphilitic Al Capone would have enjoyed this open world adventure locked up in Alcatraz while pining for prohibition!Alright already!
  10. Hey Retro Eddie! Its been a tad while, thought I'd pop in and have a butchers! Its nice to have Me gaming mojo back after a sabbatical!Glad you've still got your ear to the video game bargain ground! After buying into the hype of gta4 I was a tad disappointed as repetition hit home early and like others quit half way through! But I'm hoping gta5 could remedy that, trailers and gameplay are wetting me appetite with almost next gen visuals and the extent of the world!Think I'll get this amazon pre order for the ps3!Looking forward to our ps4 gamer nights!Ghost!

    Lost Odyssey

Ive been kinda out of the loop with jrpg, i do remember i did enjoy shining the holy ark for the sega saturn, oh back in the day! Im halfway through the game and my what a game, im enjoying it immensley if not very frustrating at times, im abot 20 hours in and there is a lot more of the journey to go, well im about to finish disc 2! Its a good storyline which pulls at your heartstrings with the human emotions of love, death and seed slots! Bring me another tissue as i weep! It has a lot of variety, yes of course its a jrpg with timed base battles, the battle system is complex, actions are timed, it has depth of stragety. You explore treacherous terrain, you have side quests, arena battles, treasure hunting and even stealth, the graphics are good, good cutscenes with good effect at critical times, smooth and vibrant animations with maybe a little slowdown at certain points. At the moment and from what i can gather this is still one of the games at the forefront of jrpg on the xbox 360. It certainly can be rewarding, but patience is a virtue in this involving and engrossing world. Of course it doesnt seem this game revolutionises the genre but it is deep, mature and is for the grinder out there. You either love or hate jrpgs but i do recommend this as yoyu will be taken on an epic journey and quest but be patient and ye shall find reward, hpefully. Recommended!

    No More Heroes

No more heroes does remind me of the bizarre and stylish themes of killer 7 and im bloody enjoying it. Im finding No more heroes a strange hack and slash adventure, the game does indeed have a load of blood and gore, explicit language and strange plot lines, which is all good. The battle side of the game is great with a good control system done a little differently with the wii controllers, but the battles can be a little repetitive but with the bizarre presentation and brutal shit you can look past this. A downpoint is that with the free roaming you do the city is rather lifeless its no grand theft auto, maybe a loading screen would have sufficed. But anyhows, im enjoyng it and an interesting game on the wii, very adult, stylish graphics, nice animation, bizarre storyline and great action sequences. If you can look past the flaws it is a great little game, definitely try it! I mean i picked it up for 7.99 in gamestation, you cant go wrong!

    Flower - PSN

Downloaded it today and have now entered the world of Flower and wow! What a world. This beautiful game is a wonder to behold, it is the perfect antidote to a hard days gaming and a way to relax the mind its definitely a great way to unwind. Its looks stunning and the soundtrack fits perfectly in this world, the controls work wonderfully with the motion sensor and feels very natural. Its very simple and short but it seems already that it will have you going back time after time, the game itself is simple bringing colour to a grey world! So if you have a ps3 get on down to the playstation store and download it at a reasonable price you can't go wrong! Enjoy!

    Prince of Persia

As of yesterday, managed to rent a copy of Prince of Persia. I am about three hours into this "next gen" prince of persia and i have to say once i picked up the controller somehow i just could not put it down into the wee hours of the morning. It looks very beautiful, with a beautiful world and level design. I feel the difficulty curve was just about right, it took a while to get used to the controls but soon you are free flowing with a jump, hop and a skip and bobs your uncle i was flying, haha no one was in my way. The story and script was a little generic and oh those lovely cheesy dialogues, oh!prince of iran you cheeky young scamp, but the women seem to love this lovable rogue scamp! But it seems somewhat addictive and you do start to get rather involved and i am enjoying this new installment of the prince! Oh yes! you can't die with a helping hand from your wonderful but rather moody companion must be her time of the month! But yes you can be rather reckless knowing that she will help you at all times, so you do flow through this game. So in this aspect the challenge can be somewhat a little tame! Anyhows, it is definitely worth renting this romp, its enjoyable while it lasts with no replay value me believes! pecae and love to the world of persia!
  15. I whole heartily concur with the joystick junkie fiend! LBP is an absolute revelation on co-op, but dont get me wrong the single player story mode and the fact you can jump into anybodys online levels is superb especially with the new update which you can now choose cerain keywords to find level designs that can relate to you. For example i played a few beatle levels, it can be hit and miss, but the potential is certainly there. But the great thing is that you can come back from a hards days night and just jump into online levels and there is always something new, must get my creative juices flowing, but alas i'm not sure if i have the patience plus im a lazy bastard, maybe its the age but i seem to be more of a lazy gamer these days, seems my hardcore button bashing days are over, until street fighter 4 maybe! Anyhow, i wonder! Yep! co-op with retro ed is such cracking fun and definitely a lot of laugh out loud moments, i laughed so much my stiches came out of my legs and my head fell off from laughing, wow! the power of LBP! the level design is superb, as is the soundtracks with a great sense of humour, also you can have up to 4 player co-op, so what are you waiting for, oh yeah! a ps3! fair enough! Peace and love to the sackboy!
