Not a good start to Brink, Alot of my friends are already bashing this, saying its shit.

I've only played 20 mins on my lunch break and im willing to give it a chance.

The customisation isnt as much options as i thought it would be and you dont get to customise much because most of it has to be unlocked by leveling.

That graphics on here look nothing like the videos they've been releasing, the edges are jagged and the textures dont look so great.

Plus theres no single player, everything is multiplayer, drop in & out.

Aiming seems really poor, especially when looking down a sight. The recoil on every gun is ridiculous.

Plus its so easy to revive yourself now, the medic doesnt even need to be near you, they just throw a syringe and you can stab your self.

Played it quite a bit earlier, The graphic arn't as bad as i first thought.

i have to say the absolute WORST thing about this game is AI, they're fuckin' stupid!

This game is only really intended for a group of friends, playing alone just isn't the same.

Splash Damage have responded quickly to reports of severe lag. They will be making the first DLC free, too.

We have been working on updates for Brink to address the lag issue that some people have reported they were experiencing.

In the meantime, we have made a configuration change for 360 users (which will be available to the PS3, once PSN is up) that alters the number of human players when matchmaking for “Campaign” and most ‘Freeplay’ modes to eight total human players. This new configuration will allow those connecting to and hosting matches (particularly those with lower upstream bandwidth) to more reliably find and connect to quality hosts via the match-making process – resulting in less lag and more fun. This change is being rolled out today and will be available worldwide.

For players who haven’t been experienced lag, we’ll still support 8v8 on all maps via a new ‘Big Teams’ configuration in Freeplay, and through custom settings in Private matches. There is no download required for this update and it will be available automatically the next time you log in to play Brink and launch either campaign or standard Freeplay matches. This should allow players new to the Ark as well as veterans to find quality matches suitable to their preferred play style.

We are also releasing an incremental update for PC players via Steam that addresses AI, GPU, and server issues. See the full release notes on Steam. Many of these fixes are being included in the full update for the 360 and PS3 versions.

We would like to thank you for supporting Brink and for your continued feedback. To show our appreciation for your support of Brink, we will be making the first DLC for Brink available for free when it is released. This DLC is planned for June and will offer additional maps and new content for players. We’ll continue to provide announcements about the next title update, as well as the first DLC release as that information becomes available.

i bought this to play with the guys i play halo with, not done that in a while, and they've already decided its crap so mine is staying sealed and going back. shame as the gameplay vids released before it was out made it look good fun and something a bit different to a standard fps. maybe if they fix the problems, pick it up when its cheap or something.

According to Bethesda, "some players" have been reporting lag issues while playing the console version of Splash Damage's Brink online.

While Brink players patiently await a patch for said issues, Bethesda has posted on their blog that in the meantime, they've reduced the "Campaign" and most "Freeplay" modes from 16 human players to 8 - 4 vs 4 (with bots, we assume) - hopefully "resulting in less lag and more fun."

8 vs 8 battles are still available for those not suffering from crippling lag and can be found via a new "Big Teams" configuration in Freeplay - and of course, in custom private matches.

The changes should be in full effect already and no patch is required to see the benefits of the new setup.

As a token of appreciation for people's patience and for their support of Brink, Bethesda announced that they will be making the first piece of Brink DLC available for free when it hits next month. According to Bethesda, players should expect additional maps and "new content"... I should hope it's new as well... I'm not sure I could ever forgive them if they gave us old content!

I think all but one friend has taken it back :( Am i the only one thinks its still alright to play?

It all sounds very meh to me.

Sounds like you need a good squad of mates to play with and if people are dropping like flies then it won't be all that great with just the bots.

Also the Eurogamer review was very suspicious. Huge advertising campaign on the site, a podcast special, the review didn't mention the bugs or technical issues and it got game of the week. I know reviews are individuals' opinions and all that but it does look very dodgy.

One site (Ars Technica) made a point of not reviewing it because they didn't feel they were given enough time with the broken review code.

i played a bit of this, but with only 3 of us against bots it was a bit crap, the AI seems to be all over the place, the baddies can be really hard even on easy, but there were glimpses of a good game, with a full team i can imagine it could be good fun, but then apparently with any more than a few players it lags all over the place.

Brink's upcoming Agents of Change DLC is currently at the submission stage, meaning that it should be on its way sometime next month, bringing a full title update to the game, as well as a bunch of new content including maps, abilities and outfits.

The Agents of Change DLC will add two all-new environments, five new player abilities, two new outfits and two extra weapon attachments to Brink, and what's more, you'll be able to pick up the add-on for free for two weeks after its launch date.

The accompanying title update will also add online optimisations, AI enhancements and weapon balancing tweaks based on layer feedback. Brink's Agents of Change DLC will be out in July.

That DLC is out now, has been for a week or so I think. If you're thinking of playing Brink at any time, you may as well set it to download while it's free. Even if you delete it, you'll be able to re-download it for free if you pick the game up further down the line. It's about 500MB.
