  2. Yeah, the 'free' tat is just that, tat. It doesn't bother me too much as I subscribe and only pay £3.33 an issue, but now they aren't doing the DVD each month they should really drop the price to £3.99 and stop it with the cheat books. Mark Green leaving put me on a real downer when I read the editorial. I hope the new guy is ok.

    New TV

Phooey wrote: Not Mr. Sheen! Not if you want a screen left, anyway! I use a microfibre cloth that I make ever so slightly damp at one end. Go over the screen and then buff gently. It works for getting paw prints off the screen, thanks Poppy.

  6. I have the broken version, and although it disconnects me from XBOX Live and it won't let me purchase the full game, it looks nice! Full widescreen in-game as well. I'm not as good as it as I thought I used to be...

    Gaming Podcasts

I haven't listened to any of the new Gaming Steve ones yet, Phoo. I have the latest one on my phone to listen to tomorrow if I have chance. I enjoyed the latest DSR show, the Zelda review went on for a bit though. There's some really good shows out there at the moment. I'm really enjoying One Life Left which I've gotten into recently, and Evil Avatar is great. I've updated the Podcast list in the Links section, with all the ones that I listen to.
  8. This idea has been kicking around for a long time now, and it's funny how opinions change in the space of a year. I know mine has. Here's a post from Admin chat that I posted at the start of September, which includes some names I had floating around in my head. They sound a bit serious, though. This time last year I was completely against the idea of going multi. Maybe if we are going to change the name and style of the site, we could get an invision forum or something similar to rllmuk? A forum that takes the up width of the site, and is easy to have sub-forums etc, nice and simple. And maybe start afresh with a new (faster) server, I'm sure we can find some reasonably priced ones.
  9. I ordered a DS Lite yesterday for my sister from videogamesplus.ca for £87.50 delivered via DHL. I asked them to mark the value down too, but they normally do without me having to ask. I then bought a UK charger from GAME for £7.99. £95 all in. Sorted. They did have all the fancy coloured versions when I ordered the white one, too.
  10. It comes with composite, but you'll want to get an RGB Scart really so that you'll be able to read the text in some games! There aren't really any deals about at the moment, but there should be some in January! I'd say the Elite is worth the extra as it comes with the audio lead, HDMI cable, more storage and of course it's black. But it's by no means essential.
  11. Downloaded the demo, will buy soon no doubt.

    Random Vid Clips

I just randomly stumbled upon this, the original video for The Electric Six's Gay Bar.
  14. Right, here's mine. I may add to it if I think of anything else. Best Getting my 360 - Best gaming decision I’ve made all year. I love it, love it, love it. XBLA, the interface, the games, the controller, just everything about it. I have nothing bad to say. New TV - Possibly the second best decision, I blame the 360. Halo 3 (360) - I really enjoyed the single player, never really played Halo 1 or 2 and I love this (bar lvl 8). PGR4 (360) – The best racer I’ve played in ages. Super Mario Galaxy (Wii) - All of it, I kinda wish I’d kept this for Christmas now, so special. Resi 4 Wii Edition (Wii) - Wow, my first play of RE4, and what a game! Fantastic through and through. Kororinpa (Wii) - Who said the Wii controls were a gimmick? This was the first proper game to really show what the remote can do. And it has great box-art! Hotel Dusk (DS) - Great start to the year, perfectly suited to the DS. I loved every minute of this. Pokemon Pearl (DS) – Never played a proper Pokemon game before, and I had a great time with this. Remember the shoutbox?* Kurupoto (DS) – I championed this like a mother, but it didn’t take off. It’s great! Ouendan 2 (DS) – More of the same isn’t always a bad thing. Diddy Kong Racing (DS) – I have to agree with illdog. I loved this, despite the unnecessary add-ons. Phoenix Wright (DS) - Roll on Apollo Justice. I love this series. Picross (DS) – Excellent puzzler, and a great version for DS. Yoshi's Island DS (DS) - Better than I was expecting, this turned out to be pretty good Taiko no Tatsujin DS (DS) – I really enjoyed this, as much as Ouendan/EBA. Zelda Phantom Hourglass (DS) – Despite some gripes, I still love this game. Yet to finish it, though. PSP Slim & Lite (PSP) - It feels good! The Everybody’s Golf player just got more comfortable. R4 DS & M3 Perfect Lite (DS/GBmicro) – For legit reasons. No, really. They have really improved my portable gaming. Having most of my collection on one cart is bliss for me. Especially my GBA games in the GBmicro, that goes everywhere with me. I love it so much I ordered a new micro! NGamer – The enthusiasm this magazine exudes is amazing. Greener is a legend. DS-WiiFi – Aww come on, it had to be in the list! Here’s to another year. Worst Eledees (Wii) - I really didn’t enjoy this, admittedly I didn’t play much of it because I got bored. So repetitive. SMB Banana Blitz / Rayman Raving Rabbids (Wii) – Technically last year, but both were a bit crap. SMB moreso. Ninty stopping the Fwiiloader from working – forcing me to sell my import GC games as I don’t want another console set up. Not a great deal of DS games that I’ve been mega interested in, and not a lot on the horizon. Where's NSMB2? *losing the shoutbox

Wasn't sure whether to put this in media or here. I plumped for here. The fantastic Jonathon Coulton performing his song 'Still Alive'. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85y5e5yHWjs

Shame it's going by unnoticed in North America, according to 1Up Yours, though.

    Burnout Paradise

I think that it isn't the best demo that they could have done, and it does represent a very small portion of the overall map. I haven't tried it online yet, but the brief play I have had of wasn't quite as great as I'd hoped it would be. I'm going to give it a bit more time, and am hopeful that the full game will be quite different.
  19. Nice. I recently got a new contract on Orange. I went in to Phones 4 U and they bought me out of my 3 contract by giving me £75 cashback. I'm on the Orange Dolphin tariff, which is 500 cross-network mins and unlimited texts for £35 a month. For an extra tenner I have combined my home broadband into the cost and get free landline, orange mobile, and international calls at all times when I plug a phone into my router! So I've bought a new home phone and we use that all the time, saving around 15-20 quid on calls we used to make with BT. Unlimted downloads and 8meg connection, too. I got the Sony Ericsson K850i (unbranded and unlocked) the day after it came out, tis a beast.
  20. Woah man, all three 'new-gen' systems in the house! What deal did you manage to blag, if you don't mind me asking? Oh, and what phone?

  23. I've bought the Mario Game Rack too, and I still have a further 4700 that I have to use by Dec 27th.
  24. I may get the Mario game rack and something else!
