  1. A lot of the first hour cut scenes are lifted straight from previous trailers.
  2. Like @Maf I’ve watched the first hour of the game. As far as the GB people critically evaluating it in that hour, they don’t. They spend the entire time going, “what’s going on?!”. All of them, most of all Dan, are very excited to play the rest and see what the game is. Then it cuts to them after at least one of them has finished it, and all are either not impressed or (in the case of Kojima super fan, Dan) actively hating it. Now, there might well be people with similar videos who are absolutely loving the game, but the outlet I trust the most and the opinions I listen to (but not necessarily agree with all the time) is the one I will watch the videos from the most. What puts me off the game and makes me not want to jump in day one, is the description of what the game actually is. I’ve got tons of games I’ve bought and have barely played, I’m simply not going to waste my time and money on a game that looks dull when I have so many more things to play and a severely limited time to do so.
  3. I’ll repeat what I said earlier in the thread - the whole situation with this game is fascinating. To ignore a positive or negative opinion is odd.
  4. Dwarf is right, no-one is looking to shit on a game and pile on. We find the whole situation fascinating but it’s not about being filled with glee. You get weirdly defensive when a game you’re looking forward to gets shit on, and I won’t ever understand that, but I don’t find joy in a game getting panned.
  5. Definitely the Souls games for me. Just scared stiff of the idea of losing hours of progress, really.
  6. Possibly, not sure. I’m probably gonna get an adaptor when I move to send the Cube to HDMI as I fancy playing some of these again. Some of those I don’t think I played at all, like Battalion Wars.
  7. It’s missing a couple that I never got replaced from when my collection originally got robbed. I used to have Tony Hawks 3 which it looks like I never replaced. There were also some other third party stuff like Splinter Cell and Hitman 2, but I replaced the important first party stuff and added more. I’d like the Zelda that also came out on the Wii, but I’m not gonna go out of my way for it.
  8. Went round to my mum’s and boxed some stuff up that were still there. Amongst some gems like my DS and collection (DS still had battery juice, the PSP was dead), my GameCube collection was there in all it’s glory. Close-ups in spoilers:

    Luigi’s Mansion 3

Just started this. I’m finding the right stick controls a bit fiddly but I’m hoovering up money like a mother fucker. Looks and sounds great!

    Diablo IV

It does sound very much like Finchy. And yep, Wikipedia lists Diablo 4 as a credit for him.
  11. None of the east coast crew seem to like it. Alex said, “it’s as wide as an ocean and deep as a puddle.”
  12. Rykert hates it, as expected.
  13. The best description I’ve heard is Encumbrance Management : The Game.

    The Outer Worlds

I would imagine you could re-spec everything, but I don’t know for sure. I’ve been pretty much throwing points out equally.
  15. I’ve also heard a theory that Dan loves it, so I don’t know what to think. This is very much a “wait and see from the sidelines” kind of game for me.
  16. Yeah, the previous one to that, Crime And Punishments, is probably better, but Devil’s Daughter is well worth a play if you fancy working out a mystery.

    The Outer Worlds

That’s just ahead of where I am, I haven’t gone back to town yet. The first aid was a side quest....

    The Outer Worlds

I had one decision that I kept changing my mind about, one about re-rooting power. In the end I went with the choice that was most likely going to give me more quest options, but no idea how impactful it was actually going to be. I’m enjoying it enough. It’s what I wanted out of Fallout but without the feeling that I was playing a properly broken game. The gameplay feels much more solid and fun to control than they ever did to me. I’ve got two companions but haven’t left the planet yet, so still very early in. I’m trying to do all the side quests I can, before I move on.
  19. I got this downloaded already. Bought that digital voucher and picked up Zelda and this for 80 quid.

    The Outer Worlds

Side quest involving first aid, which choice did everyone do? I’ve just picked it up and have to decide what to do with it.
  21. Watched Dolemite Is My Name earlier while in work, and can heartily recommend it. So many great performances in there.

    The Outer Worlds

I spent a bit of time with it yesterday. Only enough to start collecting a few side quests and pick up a companion. My first impressions, I was really worried. The intro, all the way from the beginning cut scenes till you take control on the planet, it all ran like garbage on the standard Xbox. When the cut scenes jolt around and you get bad frame rate, doesn’t fill you with confidence for the actual game, but surprisingly it seems to run just fine. It all seems ok so far, though I started getting a bit anxious as to what I should be labelling as junk and selling, and what is useful. First perk I picked was to be able to carry more stuff.
  23. I think the general consensus is that seeing how he said RDR2 was the most boring game he ever played, also saying that "some people are continuing to play Death Stranding", he has given up on DS and hates it. He was basically saying, DS is the new low in boring games. This coming from the biggest Kojima fan in the world is pretty damning.

    Puzzle Quest

Back in on this. Picked up the Switch version and getting my arse handed to me by some wooden bastard.
