  1. I've just bought a PSP (PS3, your next), and I downloaded the demo of Locoroco and I'm wondering where it has been all my life, I love it, so Patapon deffinatly has my interest, I can't quite work out how it plays but that will be part of the surprise I suppose.
  2. So, this turned up with Umbrella Chronicles today, which was pretty quick considering it was free postage. I've only had a quick go using rental Pokemon as I didn't get round to finishing Pearl (I'm on the elite 4, and my Pokemon seem to have developed blindness as nothing ever f*cking hits:angry: ) also being about 15 lvls behind doesn't help either, Back to battle revolution, I suppose I can only really comment on the battles themselves, its surprisingly swift, perhaps more so than the DS games so theres not much waiting around, the graphics are functional and some of the moves might even make you raise an eyebrow, the animation is still static as hell though, you would think Hydro Pump would have more of a devastating effect on a Clafairy. The AI is bordering idiotic but if its like the N64 game it does pick up later on. But at the mo its more of an add-on, the reason why I bought this game was to take my ultimate team online, as finding a game on the DS is impossible, I'll have to get further and try its online mode for a better oppinion.
  3. I havn't played the Wii version of Tomb Raider Anniversary but I bloody enjoyed the PS2 version despite it being broken, so I'm gonna waste my vote on that.
  4. Enjoyment out of Assasins Creed. You guys are wierd.
  5. This turned up on my doorstep today, I don't remember ordering it but its on my order history so I must have.:S Anyway I'm not complaining as I think its an enjoyable game, not a must have but fun anyway, I've only just started the level in the Zero mansion, I thought I would be further but I can't shoot straight and I am led to believe that the first part of the game is easy and boring, can't wait for later sections then.
  6. I've just copied over what I said at GTM. I found this out while playing GTA, it was 3 or Vice City. I was watching a mate play it and he was just messing around, showing me what you can do to the ladies of the night and such, and through this I said to him, this isn't the test of skill and mental dexterity that games should be, he just argued that its just a doss, a bit of fun, I find fun in having a challenge laid out infront of me having to use all my ability to tackle it. I have bought others, Mercenaries, Destroy All Humans and even Driv3r, I found them to be marginly enjoyable but just seemed to be jack of all trades, master of non. Theres a couple of exceptions, one being Oblivion, but I never found it as compelling as more linear RPG's, not storywise anyway, but I did like the way it put you in a world with alot of depth, but most (if not all) other sandbox games don't have that same depth. 7. Cheers for the find Galactica, I've ordered it, so it will be here in a week or so. I guess I'll have to get back to Pokemon Pearl and do Victory Road. *sigh*

    Halo 3

Cheers for the blue boxes, I'm not very tech savvy, I don't have OCD, honestly. No, there is no modding community for XBL, we (well, I) accept the cost as there is no alternative (apart from waiting). Its all part of being blissfully ignorant of the PC world of gaming.
  9. This has been out a couple of weeks or so, I havn't picked it up myself yet, but I plan to the moment I finish Pokemon Pearl or if its price drops to about £20, witch ever comes first. So has anyone else picked this up, or is planning too? Is it more than just watching your personally raised gladiators battling in 3D?

    Halo 3

Centy wrote: Well, not really. spatular wrote: Halo 3 seems to have enough maps for the odd bash, but if your not that bothered then wait. That forge thing looks like a technical version of Mouse trap, I don't like to think how long it took to get that right.:pinch: *EDIT. Hay mods, why do my quotes have no blue boxes? Fixed missing the opening tags for some reason
  11. If he plays like the real me, he'll just stand there with his knees knocking and his hands down his shorts.
  12. I'M IN DEFENCE!! Oh dear, all my schoolboy days of being picked last and shoved at the back while all the sporty kids played footy up front, then I would just chase the ball for fun, sporty kids would tell me to get back, then I would cry inside.

  14. I'm kinda new here but I think going multi-format might not be such a bad idea, I was once a dedicated Nintendo boy but this generation has left me out on my ear a bit, but thats for another thread. The community already here do tend to talk sensibly and maturly about other formats so we could all sensibly adjust if the change goes through, as for inbred cockbags joining the forums, well I'm sure we could just use good old patronising techniques to embarass them into pissing right off. As for a multi-format name, how about J00n0n00bZ&SuXc0rFr3aKs.co.uk. P.S, the name was inspired by 4 tins of Kronenbourg

    Mass Effect

I did consider starting a thread myself but I just didn't bother, I'm lazy like that, anyway I think its the best game for the 360 by a long way. It rekindled a love for Sci-Fi that I lost when I discovered women. The combat, while clunky, is fun enough to carry the game, and the yes there are awful technical issues but I soon forgave it as the story and characters are just so good, it just depends if the game gets under your skin or not, I tried to get into Oblivion but I just didn't get on with it, its a great game but the story and characters in that are just wooden.
  16. Oh, I've never been good at reading between the lines. I don't think its bad, its just had another level of dumming down, I think I'll still pick it up but I'm not expecting the best arcade racer yet, which I was before.
  17. The Demo area is incredibly small, I think my main gripe is that during races you have to keep an eye on the map, and the speeds that you go in Burnout don't make it easy, especially when building up boost on the wrong side of the road, whats worse is the only car you can use is slow and this problem still rears its head, I would hate to think what its like further in the game. Can developers stop jumping on this sandbox bandwagon please, although I did have a little bit of fun when online bullying other players, I suppose nudging some prick into an oncoming car is always fun.
  18. My first play through was disapointing too, it seems slightly unfocused, maybe a second playthrough is needed.

    Bioshock

TopGunKnacker wrote: Yeah, you unlock it at the end if you take the option of joining the main bad guy, you find you can become friends if you bring him all the fags and booze in the game. Sorry no, I was just refering to co-op games generally.

    Bioshock

I also went back to Bioshock after the new DLC became available, going back to it for that reason is rubbish because the only difference I found was the new plasmids, and they arn't as fun to use as the ones already in the game. It certainly isn't my game of the year but I do think it is head and shoulders above other FPS's, it is as basic as other games in the genre but the 50's blood splattered art deco coupled with sections of blues and jazz music only interupted with insane chatter and screams of the splicers makes one of the most intense game expearances you can find, its just style but the substance that it is based on is undiniabley strong. Add numarous sub-stories in the form of audio tapes which are easily stronger than the main narrative in most other games and you have something special. The hacking is very distracting though. And I wish I had someone to play co-op with, but I don't, so just good old engrossing single player for me.
  21. *slaps Super Mario Sunshine review on virtual table* took a while but loads of games have been taking up spare time lately.
  22. On reading the Wikipedia entry, it seems to be Test Drive Unlimited on steroids, although I can't imagine slowly driving round a city looking for rivals with the Burnout game engine, its top speed all the way, we'll see with the mentiond demo.
  23. I can't say I've ever been disapointed by any of the games in the series, well, maybe Revenge, I hope they have taken out the 'traffic checking' or whatever it was called, that really did remove alot of the intensity, but there is not many racers that get me excited. Hendo wrote: I really hope it isn't all fannying around like all other sandbox games, I hate them.
  24. Its not as bad in other media, in music, you can hear stuff on the radio, music TV or free CD's with magazines, not to mention places like MySpace, you can hear it and make your own judgement without forking out. In films, theres high profile critics on TV, radio and newspapers, they have to be on the ball or they lose there high profile jobs, and again, with no cost to you, apart from newspaper, but film reviews is hadaly what you exclusivly buy it for. Since gaming isn't held in the same regard as the other media, there will certainly be alot of fluff bought on what sponsored sites say.
  25. Its going to be tough to find somewhere you can get a credible review now, surely the money men must realise that they won't get the hits the advertisers want if they keep giving out reviews that blatently kiss the arses of average heavy hitting titles.
