  1. HandsomeDead

    Persona 4

Nice to see you enjoyed it despite it not being your bag, I've had a break from it because the dungeon I'm in now is quite difficult and I've already died and had to repeat it a couple of times and I'm fed up of that place now so I'm leaving it a bit, it is my fault that I'm dying because I keep pushing myself to hard and not leaving more regular. It is a a mamoth game because it's November in-game and I'm well over 40 hours, that must leave four months or so.
  2. I've found I've been playing it more than I thought. I don't think it's brilliant but it's cool for 10 minute blasts and I'm on the third world and it's starting to open up nicely. I love the disclamer screen too, a little unexpected humour from the game.
  3. I've just managed the first level. While the idea is basic there is a big variation in the way the dots react so it does always keep you on your toes. I like it too.
  4. I've been going through this again over the last few days, dunno why, just felt like it. I was unsure playing it again because I was worried I was just cought up in hype playing during it's release but after six months I still found I loved every moment of it, I rarely got frustrated with it because I had it on it's easiest setting and I also went for the did it without shooting anyone and it was great. If someone hasn't played it yet should give it a go, it actually is a good game.
  5. Bah and bah. I thought it didn't look rite.
  6. I can't do the long ones that rotate as they come towards you, my head just don't know what to do with them.
  7. I'm probably not the best person to say about this game as I have no prior experiance of these at all. I gather it's from the team behind WarioWare and this game seems to be in the same vain. You go through a colletion of rythm based mini games performend by tapping or sliding your stylus to the musical prompts and then you unlock a game that remixs the ones you've just played together. These where I find most of the fun lies.. and the frustration. It's quirkier than you'd expect a game plugged by Beyonce would be and does have a real sense of fun about it which has left me tittering a little, like the WarioWare games then. I'm still stuck on the third remix so I'm off to try it again.
  8. It's harder than it looks. Well I'm having trouble, I see that there are 3 levels but I can't do the first. The video doesn't show the headache-y bits. It is fun when it's all going well and I think it just requires more practice than I thought it would.
  9. I'd say the third is my favourite but I'd say you'd struggle to go wrong with any of them, maybe the fourth is the weakest. I still fire Anthology on from time to time for an hours entertainment in co-op, they're just such fun games. Even though we do end up fighting over the Rwocket Lauwncher.
  10. The Noisettes are an odd one. I heard that song of theirs thats on that car advert on the radio, naturally the DJ said it was by The Noisettes. I thought they can't be called that because there was a garage rock band going by the same name a few years ago. Turns out they are the same band which I found a staggering change in direction, which is brave. My lil'sister likes N-dubz, apparantly. I only know Dappy by his performance on Never Mind the Buzzcocks. I think he's one of those rappers.. you know.. the rappers off Top of the Pops.
  11. That boss on the zombie level is an odd one. I beat it on my first go but it was just pure luck. Another bit which I didn't enjoy were these robots on a sci-fi level, they have no weakness and their attacks are really hard to avoid, and they take some pummeling. They're probably the only enemy in the game that just isn't fun to fight at all... well, that boss on the bike too.
  12. I'm now waiting for my nice new DSi to come. I got it with Rythme Paradise/Heaven/Whatever and that Final Fantasy Tatics A2 for the tidy sum of under £180. I thought that was alright.
  13. Are some of your citizens naturally better at certain jobs? Because some people come out of guard training with only 3 bits of health while others have 6. I thought early bosses would be easy but it seems that frog boss will require me to chip at its health a little at a time then, I'll just have to make sure they don't get flattened in the process. I explored the south a little too and found some little odd things, I really never know what to expect from this game.
  14. I couldn't find an existing thread, I thought there was. Anyway, Valkyria Chronicles. It's a turn-based stratergy RPG like Fire Emblem but with that innocent attitude towards war that the early Advance Wars games have. Also what makes it that little bit different is moving your units around is done in real-time so it plays like a kind of third-person shooter while you are moving your units. Keeping characters that don't like the desert off desert levels and also trying to keep characters that like each other together helps by increasing their abilities. So far levels have been varied enough to keep interesting and the story is quite amusing, I don't know if it's intentional though. The little racism sub-plot is a bit embarrasing and how such an naive, tree-hugging fool can turn is hand to commanding a squad of soldiers is odd. But thats JRPG's for you. Despite all this sillyness I'm always finding myself going back to it and it's certainly one of the better games you can pick up on the PS3, it looks lovely too.
  15. I've played it a little and I'm having trouble fighting bosses. Is there any easy way of doing it because I just scraped through the Cowbones and the big frog keeps kicking my arse, I can get a second on its back and it immedietly shakes you off. I don't know why the developers say Pikmin had no inspiration in the game like they did in one of the issues of GTM because the similarities are clear, not that's a bad thing. I just don't know why they denied it so much. Great game though when I'm not getting slaughtered by a big frog.
  16. I find I get better times on the harder ones, I don't if it's because they are actually shorter but twistier and if you do it well you're gonna get a good time, my Route A one is shite, about 4:37 or something.
  17. 14:30 trophy got but I really need to try it again because there were a few to many bits done in over a minute. 4:30 trophy got. Have 4:27:027 route D and Milky Way you cunts. I think I'll have a go at getting other routes in a similar time.
  18. It's took a while but I can finally say I hate Abel..
  19. I have a copy of American Idiot, payed about £15 for it too, yet I've never listened to it.. a little insight to my life there. Been listening to that new Silversun Pickups album and overall I'm happy with it plan to give it a good hammering over the next few weeks. It is a little different to their first album but it does just expand on the style of a few of the songs off Caravanas, I think they carry over an essance of what makes that album great and expands it in different directions. Something else I'm listening to it Yeah Yeah Yeah's It's Blitz, which is the complete opposite to that by taking their sound into a new direction and forgetting that passion and energy that makes there earlier stuff so good, I don't know how it went so wrong because their E.P Is Is was leaps and bounds ahead of their second album and I was really looking forward to what their third would offer. Gutted, oh well. Still listening to The Hold Steady's back catalogue too. Possibly my favouritest band ever.
  20. People are playing it? Where's mine?
  21. I miss this game. I sold my Xbox games that didn't work on the 360. I fail.
  22. The fabulous Outrun Online Arcade is getting much play by me, also chasing scores and times and since I have it on PSN I enjoying sitting just outside the worlds top ten on most courses because PS3 owners are evidently, n00bs. Which if you haven't noticed has beefed up my ego. Also on the PS3 front I've started to get into Valkyria Chronicles, a sort of real-time/turn-based stratagy game. I'm only 5 chapters in but I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far, nice one again Sega. GTA4: The Lost and Damned has finally been aquired by myself and I'm a few missions into it, I have to say I'm liking the characters in it, well, I hate them, but I like the way I hate them. That's it really. Apart from Persona 4, naturally.
  23. I tried it with some of the GTM'ers too. We got a few silver medals but I can't see myself doing any better because when you start getting two Tanks at a time you're dead.
  24. HandsomeDead

    Persona 4

That's the death chance card you got, whether it lands up side down or not it unhelpfully throws you out side the dungeon. You should still try them though, the moon one is very handy, it doubles the experiance you get from beating enemies.
