Started Shenmue 2 and so far it feels like a big step up from the first game.

To be honest it'd just be nice to see an EU Chrono Cross release on PS Store ?

That's awesome, but it makes me sad. Chrono Break was registered by Square in 2001, but no game ever surfaced. I know it'd never happen, but imagine if Squeenix saw this, checked out Owlboy, and decided "You know what? Let's see what they can do."

Nah, playing it for longer wouldn’t have made me like it more. I really enjoyed exploring Dobuita at my own pace, talking to the townsfolk and finding clues. It should have been repetitive, but the balance of conversations and action was great, but that all went to shit at the harbour. The nice pace was completely ruined for me. Doing the race every day made the novelty wear off, and then being stuck doing the forklift job every day for 7/8 days just wasn’t fun. Running around at lunch trying to find clues was ok, but being stuck in the harbour after work sucked. Even after I spoke to everyone useful it still wouldn’t let me go home until 8/9pm every night meaning I didn’t have time to do anything else. I didnt enjoy the combat because it doesn’t work properly. One on one it was ok once I got the hang of it, but fighting groups was frustrating because Ryo would arbitrarily switch who he was hitting. I’m not a fighting game game fan anyway so it took a while to get used to, but at times it was just broken. And thats the thing here, this port is broken. I experienced weird sound issues throughout, and QTE’s do not work on modern set ups because of the input latency. Newer games balance timings to compensate this issue, Shenmue hasn’t. In fact, one the QTE arcade game Up doesn’t even register. I’m not the only person experiencing issues, and mine aren’t half as bad as other people’s. The icing on the cake is happening right now though, I’ve just been playing Space Harrier to capture footage for my review and it won’t let me exit the game. I’m out of credits and can’t exit, I need to reset the game so I’m about to lose a day at the dock. Luckily I’m just playing for footage and trophies now, but yeah, this port is a hot mess at times. Again, I feel I need to reiterieate. Game is fine, it’s a charming look into gamings past, but the HD port is broken.

Right at the end against that Gollum looking cunt and I’m ready to throw my controller out the fucking window. I fucking hate this piece of shit combat system! “Oh I know! Let’s take the Virtua Fighter combat system and make it worse!” Yeah fucking nice one SEGA.

The forklift bollocks. The race was fun at first, but having to go through it every day is annoying. And then the actual job is bollocks too. The forklift barely works, and when I can actually get the fucking thing to raise/lower random NPC’s and forklifts keep spawning in front of me and bring me to a stand still. Then theres trying to find information on the Hells Arseholes of whatever they’re called. No, Mark, I do not have any brothers or sisters, stop asking! Oh cool! A hobo wants to teach me karate! Shame the move only works 10% of the time in actual fights. Can I go home? No, not yet, need to run around in circles 12 more times. I’ve enjoyed it up to this point but seriously, fuck the harbour. It’s brought the game to a standstill.

Harbour. Day 4. This is hands down one of the worst sections I’ve ever played in a video game. It’s boring and tedious as all fuckery. If I wasn’t playing under review obligation I think I’d quit right about now.

Picked up the new Alice in Chains album. It's ok on first listen, but hasn't struck me yet. It's definitely the most mature/sombre album they've done.

I played this for the first time the other night and wow, ok. It is definitely a product of its time, It controls like a chicken nugget rolling down a hill. We got bored looking for sailors who just didn't want to show up, and my friend was stoned and wasn't playing how I'd play so it was kind frustrating too. The VO has some weird compression on it so it sounds terrible, and the acting itself is terrible but gives it some charm, like an old Kung Fu movie. I should be getting a code in a day or two so I can sit down and play it properly myself, but playing this next to Yakuza Kiwami 2 will be interesting.

No, but it's Capcom, and the last few Resident Evil's have had a LOT of DLC for them. I'm just saying 'if' they do it for this one they should do Nemesis.
