  1. I fell out with the grappling earlier, it's not as free as I'd like it to be. I get that Sekiro needs to grapple onto certain points on the roofs but I feel for all the freedom to tackle situations openly that FromSoftware were talking about it's incredibly restrictive. There's an area after the bull that would have been much better had there been a couple more grapple points but instead the route forces you down one annoying path. It's not too bad in some areas, but this area in particular looked like it should have grapple points in abundance and it just... didn't. The wall hugging was annoying me too as it wouldn't let me 'hug' walls I really should have been able to. Small complaints but it does take an element of choice out of a scenario. The lock on sucks too, but that's just a FromSoft thing so whatever. They haven't fixed it since the previous games so I can't see them fixing it now. Did another mini boss. After sussing it out it wasn't difficult at all, there's just no room for error. On the bright side though if you're not very good at deflecting at the moment you will be after this guy. I'm on the third main boss now and in theory he's easy - he telegraphs his attacks well, doesn't hit too hard, and there's some nice back and forth with attacks and deflects going on, but I can't get the timings right at the minute, and there's not much room for error. It feels like more of a fun boss than Lady Butterfly. I'm starting to enjoy it now, that or it's worn me down and I have some form of Stockholm Syndrome, so I'm not going to get angry today, I'm going to take a break and have a cup of tea.
  2. Started a second playthrough tonight with my friend Mark for our YouTube channel. In two hours from the beginning of the game we managed to get up to and beat the drunk dude. Mark had a pop at Lady Butterfly but died so we went back to the present and got up to the Chained Ogre, but Mark died again. I’d say that’s pretty good progress for two hours.
  3. @Snaggletooth I fucking love The Wildhearts, on of my top 3 bands. Lost count how many times I've seen them, I have however never seen that video ? After watching The Dirt twice over the weekend I thought I'd listen to Motley Crue again and then this happened and now I don't think I'm going to listen to Motley Crue again for a while.
  4. Fire Cow is dead. Inching forward now.
  5. Killed Lady Butterfly, got this as a reward.
  6. Killed the drunk prick, now I'm fighting the butterfly wench. So far she's a lot easier than the bull.
  7. I did a snatch and grab. I'm fighting the Flaming Bull now. I hate it. Seriously going to fall out with this game. Every time I start enjoying myself it goes "nah mate, here's some infuriating bullshit". This time round we have something that damages you while you're blocking AND inflicts burn damage whenever it hits you. It has no obvious attack pattern, and the tells on it's attacks have the weirdest timings, it's like fighting a Meshugah song. It attacks relentlessly in an unpredictable fashion and can even hit you when you're half way through a wall jump. Everyone is going to die of Dragon Rot at this point, and I honestly couldn't care less.
  8. Official play time so far is 8 hours 54 minutes, but actual play time is less than that when taking into account thrown controller/get up and walk away time. First boss down though so I think I'm getting the hang of the combat system now. Video below:
  9. That's because it was a Tenchu game originally. https://www.gamespot.com/articles/sekiro-shadows-die-twice-originally-started-as-a-t/1100-6461426/
  10. You'll find Bondage Shrek when you're back in the present. This game is much more linear than the Soulsborne games so you can't miss him. I'm up to what I assume is the first boss now. I'm having trouble though because the lock on keeps flicking off whenever he gets close so the camera flips out and by the time it's reset and locked on again I'm almost dead so that's great. Decided to go back to the memory to farm some exp so I can upgrade my heals again.
  11. Upgraded my gourd again and increased how much it heals so feeling more confident about taking risks. Past the giant snake from the trailers/previews now so starting to feel like I’m making progress now.
  12. Its funny because you know he will actually come and post “Well actually, Sekiro means blah blah blah”. You’re tempting fate there my friend. Anyway, Chained Ogre is dead. Got it on my third attempt. The hit boxes on its grabs are horse shit, but it’s dead now, so fuck it.
  13. I’m ready to throw in the towel, I’m not enjoying it at all. I just don’t have the time or patience for it and I’m getting bored doing the same areas over and over again. Considering sending it back to amazon for a refund and trying again when it’s cheaper.
  14. I found that guy earlier by accident while trying to sneak around the Shinobi Hunter. Not looking forward to fighting him later.
  15. Announcements for announcements need to get in the bin.
  16. I can't find the axe. I've killed a Shinobi Hunter and found some feathers, but I can't find this fucking axe.
  17. I'm not enjoying this at all. I feel like I'm banging my head against a wall. Every time I take massive damage I have to rest to reset my gourds, which resets the enemies and I have to start the whole gauntlet again. Progress is slow and I don't feel like I'm getting any better, and right now the thought of going back to it is making me want to throw up. I just can't suss out the combat system at all. Sadly, not having a job and spending £50 on this I literally can't afford to give up even though every fibre of my being is telling me to. Objectively it's a very good game; looks lovely, mechanics are great, Japanese VO is fantastic, but subjectively I am fucking miserable.
  18. I'm just really bad at timings. My reflexes are completely shot.
  19. Put a couple of hours into this tonight and not sure how I feel yet. Trying to get to grips with the timings in combat is tough. At first I was doing ok, then I sparred with Mr Dead for a while and thought I had it, then I went out into the world and was fine, then I came across a general that introduced the THIS ATTACK WILL HURT symbol and he took a while to take down. I've only died without resurrection once though, so that's nice. Planning on spending the day with it tomorrow while my girlfriend is at work.
  20. Activision are notoriously bad at getting review codes out in time. Which other reviews have said it’s easier than the Souls games then?
  21. I guess I'll get to play it at some point this weekend ?
  22. Loved this game. Can’t wait for the sequel to come to consoles.
  23. Didn't summon on Dark Souls or Demon's Souls (because I can't). Summoned AI in Bloodborne Chalice Dungeons because I hate them and want them over with ASAP, no summons in the main game though. Haven't played Dark Souls 2 or 3 yet, but won't be summoning in them either.
  24. Someone at IGN trying to make the balls look big.
