I can only speak for myself but I’m “balling” about it because I was utterly disappointed with what they’ve shown. It’s Star Wars Celebration, it’s the perfect time to show some actual gameplay, then EA turn up with a boring and generic cinematic trailer that doesn’t even look that impressive itself. There was so much hype leading up the the reveal and it was just limp. Yeah we’ll likely see something at E3 but they should have led with gameplay here and given the fans something to actually be excited about. I am a hardcore Star Wars fan and this trailer did absolutely nothing for me. It was the same old shit I’ve seen before and due to EA treating the license like shit I have no faith in it, it feels like a project that was thrown together in a short time in a desperate attempt by EA to show Disney they should be allowed to keep it. I have no faith in EA anymore, and I haven’t played enough by Respawn to have any faith in them either. I’m hoping it’ll be the Horizon: Zero Dawn of Star Wars, but I can’t get excited until I actually see the thing in action.

It’s a sad and sorry state of affairs when EA not only have to come out and clarify this, but act like it’s something that should be praised and not just expected.

Seeing people screaming “day one” for this and I don’t know why. We haven’t seen any gameplay for it. Seriously, why are people excited for this game after seeing this trailer? It shows us nothing. I’m not trying to to start shit, I just genuinely don’t understand how people can get excited for cinematic trailers (and generic ones at that) after we’ve been burned countless times before with other games. Gameplay or gtfo.

Well that was a painfully generic cinematic trailer that showed fuck all gameplay. Show me some gameplay and I’ll get excited.

The first two games are terrible and Shenmue 3 is going to be even worse. I have no nostalgia for the series and only played the ‘HD’ ports and they’re just awful games.

My speculation still stands. And I’ve literally just finished watching an IGN video where they have the same theory. Apparently in Thrawn: Alliances they talk about Skywalkers as force sensitive navigators beyond the outer regions. They use a force power named ‘Skywalking’ to navigate ships through uncharted hazardous space. I didn’t actually know that as I haven’t read the new Thrawn books, but it certainly adds to my theory. Also interesting to note about Kylo’s helmet - that isn’t Kylo rebuilding it in the trailer, it’s and alien of some kind which is real interesting.

So I’ve put my speculation cap on. What if ‘Skywalker’ becomes the new term for pupils of the light side of the force? The start of the trailer has that line that reads ‘Every Generation Has A Legend’ while Luke gives his voice over. At the end of VIII the kids are playing in the barn telling the new legend of Luke Skywalker. The underlying theme of VIII was all about letting the past die (Jedi, Sith, all of it) so what if that’s what’s happened? No more Sith, no more Jedi, but a new light side religion rises from the ashes because of Luke’s teachings, the rise of the Skywalker.

She was on the panel, and the pop she got from the crowd was absolutely beautiful. Nothing but love and support from everyone, so much so she started crying. It was just what she needed after all the racist scum lashing out at her. And yes, I’m just pointing at the racists here. You don’t like her character or her performance in VIII? That’s fine. You ever used that as an excuse to call her a racial slur like those scum lords on social media did? Fuck off and leave here right now. Rose will be in IX in a big way, she’s just not in the teaser.

Yeah I think I’ve watched it 5 times or something? Love the fact Kylo gets his helmet back, feels like he’s accepted his fate and is going full Vader. Rey taking on the TIE Intercepter looks amazing, seeing Leia hit my feels but as soon as I saw it just went “Oh, alternative take from the end of VII”. The teaser is giving me serious Indiana Jones vibes, and I’m ok with that.

Loved the panel. Loved the teaser. Don’t love the title. That shot of the Death Star and Palpatine laughing at end though. Goose bumps.

That’s good. Still a shame we have to wait though. Will be nice to get it with a couple seasons of The Mandalorian loaded up though.

Was about to post this. You can buy an add on for Switch that let’s you play vertical and it works with this really well so I might have to finally take the plunge.

Coming up to three hours now and I’m not feeling it. Story is cool and I’m looking forward to how it progresses. I think I can see where it’s going, but I also think that’s not where it’s going at all so I’m invested in that. The actual gameplay isn’t really doing it for me though. I’m hoping if I play more it’ll click and I’ll start enjoying it because I want to see where the story goes and if I don’t like the gameplay after the first ending I know I probably won’t bother with the rest so I’ll only get part of a story.
