Finished my Blaze plythrough earlier. Cherry plythrough next. [EDIT] Finished my Cherry playthrough. She was a lot of fun and pretty good at juggling when you break her combo up. Going through as Floyd next.

To be fair VIII looks better than this and IX waaaay better than that so the other two shouldn't be too rough to play.

I just found a hidden trophy by mistake because I was looking for a secret level in the Gallery stage ?? I love this game!

I mean I was trying to strike up a conversion with you guys about it, seeing as you're fans I thought it would be nice to see first hand from people I like and respect why they like it and why they're excited for the remaster, but I guess that isn't what forums are for these days. Don't worry about it, I'll check YouTube. Wont be posting in this thread again. Thanks.

Is this actually worth playing? Because the trailers make it look absolutely shit. I never played it on Wii or 3DS so was tempted to get it, but the trailers put me right off. Asking people who have played the original.

Just finished my first playthrough with Axel, will do the next one with Blaze. Final boss was a lot easier than I was expecting, I did it on my first try and only lost one life. The run up to the boss was way harder. I think I'll have a go on hard once I've finished a normal playthrough with all the characters, but I'm not holding my breath that I'll do any good.

More story progress has been made: We'll no doubt play it again later. Last time I played it I didn't really enjoy it. A lot of the flaws really shone through, but sharing my girlfriends first experience with it has brought the magic back and made me realise the reason I felt 'done' with it last time is because I know what to do and where to go, and the fact I couldn't do it as quickly as I wanted to because of the mechanics annoyed the hell out of me, but now I'm watching and guiding (when she asks for it, unsolicited advice is a dick heads game) a newcomer I'm having to experience it at her pace. It's taken around 30 hours to get here and it'll probably be another 20 or 30 until we're done, and I'm good with that.

I'm using Axel too, I really like him, but then again I haven't tried anyone else yet. Seen a lot of people were struggling with him so wanted to challenge myself to a playthrough as him first, then do a character at a time after that. Definitely won't be getting the platinum on this one. Not even going to attempt it.

Beat 9, 10, and 11 today in quick succession. 10 and 11 bosses were weirdly the easiest in the game ?♂️ Had a go at Stage 12 and noped out. Will try again tonight/tomorrow.

I worked in game development for 5 years but thanks for explaining that to me. This is definitely going to become a 'just read the book' thing, and I really don't want it to. For example: I really don't want this to turn into a Star Wars thing ?

I entered that section with 2 lives and full health. I got to the boss with 0 lives and half health. Managed to beat him though so I'm taking it as a win ?

That feature is available in all versions of the game, PS1 included. I think you just press Select (so - on Switch)

I second the Godzilla game. There are a lot of Godzilla games already, but I'd love one that was like Sim City. So you build your city and then Godzilla fights a monster and trashes it, so you have to rebuild, but you only have a certain amount of time before the next attack. The more people working in your city, the more money your city gets so you can add defenses to it. Your incentive would be to make sure the fight is over ASAP, so installing anti-aircraft missile launchers to fire at the monsters, or installing a nuclear powerplant so Godzilla can absorb it and use his "fuck you and your mum" attack earlier and get the fight over with. But then you'll be without nuclear power for a while, so that will set the city back, so is it worth installing one for a shirt term boost?? I don't like sim games, I get bored and start killing everyone, so my incentive would be to rebuild the city and get as many people in as possible so G and the Boyz have more lives to destroy.

I'm having a great time watching my girlfriend play through this. She's just got to the Temple of the Ancients so making some progress. She's clocked in around 24 hours so far. It's great to see it played at a slow pace again. I've played it so many times over the years I just kind of auto-pilot through it now, but she has no idea and it's great. She also knows nothing of the story twists so I can't wait to see her reactions.
