  1. I think it’s a cool and interesting idea, I think it would sell better worldwide if they rebadged it as a Sega console ?. Can’t see it improving things much in Japan though. I don’t think it’ll happen but it’s a nice rumour. I wouldn’t be importing one though due to the costs involved, if it does happen I think it’d be one of those curios like the Panasonic GameCube.
  2. We can only dream @DANGERMAN ? Source Translation:
  3. I’ve been exploring pretty much the entirety of Colony 9 @bellow ? and doing a shit ton of side quests, once I start with them I can’t stop. Getting all the red ! cleared off the map is addictive haha. I am at the same point you are with the story so the game has finally got started for me. I don’t hate the combat but it just feels like something’s missing if that makes sense, XC2 had my fave JRPG combat system ever so I feel like this has to live up to that and it doesn’t. I need to try to stop comparing the two and just try to enjoy this, I’m hoping - like XC2 - the combat in this gets more complicated and involved as the game goes on.
  4. True, I was just saying that they’ve been saving everything post 2017 for PS5 really. In my previous post I did say launch and next year, I think Horizon 2 could be an Autumn/Winter 2021, I don’t now think it’s coming at launch. I agree it’s somewhat unlikely but it’s possible is all I mean. 2017 (when HZD came out) to late 2021 would be over 4 1/2 years. They don’t need a new engine though, they’ve got Decima. I do think there’ll be at least one big AAA title at launch (possibly Bluepoint’s game) as well as Ratchet & Clank from Insomniac with GT7 coming early/Spring next year. Who knows though, speculating is fun, maybe I’m getting my hopes up too much who knows but it’s cool to dream lol. There have been rumours of an Uncharted at launch or within the 1st year too developed by a new Studio, the last was released in 2016 so it’s definitely possible if they started work on it right away. I think right now if I could only have 1 announcement from the possible games mentioned I’d take Silent Hill, that’ll be the announcement that gets me jumping.
  5. Because that way you can watch TV in the background at the same time @Maf ? I started this up last night and almost immediately realised why I gave up on it so quickly on N3DS. The opening is just godawful. It’s just so ridiculously slow. I like that they let you explore Colony 9 more or less straightaway but it just feels like there’s 0 motivation for me to care about anything in the world, it’s just all a bit too twee. The story does eventually kick into action but this is only after 4 hours. I have to say though that it is nice to immediately get tons of freedom to explore these huge expansive environments and have tons of side quests thrown at you after nearly 60 hours of FFX which doesn’t have any ‘side quests’ per se to speak of. The side quests haven’t been much to speak of - they weren’t in XC2 either - but they’ve been a nice relaxing distraction. Colony 9 itself is pretty cool too. I do love a nice big JRPG town to explore and this is quite a nice, surprisingly big place to start off in. Haven’t really warmed to any of the characters yet either - aside from Fiora who has best girl potential - but it’s still very early days. I haven’t really got a handle on the combat yet either and am basically just button mashing. It is more similar to XC2 than I thought with the Arts, combos and exhaustion meter (or whatever it’s called) along with the break/topple stuff but it just doesn’t feel quite as intuitive somehow, it feels like I’m less involved and more like hammering buttons. I don’t wanna be too harsh on it as I’m very early in still and the story has only just properly started but so far I’m not too impressed with it, seems far worse than XC2 in almost every way.
  6. Square Enix Tech Director tweeted this then swiftly deleted it.
  7. They’re trying to stop doing that now, they haven’t announced a major 1P game since GoT in 2017 so I feel they will have quite a lot to show us, but only stuff that’s coming at launch and next year in the Thursday show. I definitely think Horizon 2 will be there, along with GoW2, Silent Hill and Spidey 2.
  8. Looks like Thursday’s event will just be focusing on games
  9. Just a community account I’m afraid @Nag ? I do think we’ll see it in some form on Thursday though.
  10. I haven’t fought any monsters there @OCH but opened it up by collecting all fiends in the Calm Lands.

  12. Played another 6 hours since my last post, 58 total. I’ve just been going around doing side activities really and haven’t made any more progress on the main quest line. Firstly, I wanted to collect the remaining Jecht Spheres and Al Bhed Primers so I fired up the Airship and set about following a couple of guides that told me where they are located. Had no trouble picking either of them up at all until I had to pick my last Al Bhed Primer up, which was located at the Omega Ruins, which is a super daunting post-game area (I’d imagine) judging by the types of enemies there. I didn’t have any anti-encounter armour or accessories on me so had to try to just Flee every time I encountered something. This wasn’t going too well for awhile but I just about managed to get to the Primer location and back to the save point by the skin of my teeth. Now those were all picked up I could focus on getting some of the Celestial Weapons. At this point I’d already got the Caladbolg but needed the rest. First off I travelled to Mushroom Rock and put my - previously collected - Rusty Sword into the statue here to get the Masamune which was relatively simple to do. After this I travelled back to the Calm Lands to open the chest containing the Nirvana as I’d previously captured all the fiends in that area to open the Monster Arena. Next was the Godhand. Getting the weapon itself was a very simple journey back to a secret Mushroom Rock area via an Airship Password but getting the Mercury Sigil was a whole lot more difficult! You’re tasked with finding 10 Cactuars scattered across the humongous Sanubia Desert, one at a time. When you find them you have to sneak up on them without being noticed, which isn’t too difficult. The whole task is just very time consuming though, traipsing around the different areas of the desert, finding the Cactuar, then taking the Cactuar orb back to the locator stone over and over again just wasn’t much fun. But, I got there eventually and boy was a glad it was over! Next up was the Spirit Lance, so I headed to the Thunder Plains. Using a guide once again it wasn’t too difficult to figure out what to do although I did have a bit of trouble understanding that you could only pray at the lit up Cactuar stones here. After a bit of head scratching I managed to successfully locate and pray at the three stones which activated a ghost which showed me to a broken lightning conductor, which then gifted me the Spirit Lance! As I was relatively close by I decided to go for the Saturn Sigil in Macalania Woods. This turned out to not be a good decision. You’re tasked with catching 7 butterflies in 2 different areas to get the Sigil, I had done a little bit of these butterfly races when I was in the area last time around but never managed to successfully collect all the butterflies. I just found it so damn difficult and annoying as hell this time around, time and time again I tried and every time I’d either bump into too many red butterflies or fail to pick one up along the way. After consulting a guide I found the one butterfly I was missing and after 90 minutes of trying finally managed to do it. Only to realise I’d have to do it all over again at the second course! Luckily this one was much easier than the first and I managed to do it relatively quickly, the Saturn Sigil was finally mine! Switched gears afterwards to focus on doing some of the legwork required to get the Magus Sisters. So I used the Airship to go to Mount Gagazet (via the Calm Lands as I needed some more capture weapons) and set about capturing all the fiends needed to get the Blossom Crown I needed. Didn’t take me too long at all and before I knew it I was travelling back to the Monster Arena at the Calm Lands and picking up my prize (I’d previously battled Belgemine and picked up the Flower Scepter). I left it there for the day. I now only need Onion Knight and World Champion for the Celestial Weapons which should be doable, but I’m undecided whether to go for the Sigils or not, I definitely don’t think I’ll have the wherewithal to play the Blitzball required to get the Jupiter Sigil, likewise for the Venus and Mars Sigils. I think my next step is to carry on the story a little bit so I can get the last Destruction Sphere to get Anima and the Onion Knight (I understand I can’t go back to the Zanarkand Temple until I defeat the next boss(es)), then play a little bit of Blitzball to try and get the World Champion.
  13. I think the key piece of info from that is that PS5 games won’t run on PS4, so no cross-gen stuff like Microsoft is doing, PS5 games can only be played on PS5. And yeah, the controller definitely looked black in that video, it could be just cause it was dark though, difficult to make out. It wouldn’t be the first time a console had different colours at launch but I still think it’ll be white.

  15. Looks great. Might pick that up, this gives me more hope Carrion will be out soon too...
  16. Have to say I’m chuffed with Battlefront II, was considering rebuying it recently after watching The Clone Wars but now I don’t have to ?
  17. Destiny 2 works well enough but I guess that’s not a true MMO like ESO.
  18. If it reviews badly enough I might pick it up ?
