Hendo
Maybe this should be in the Currently Listening thread but I just had to ramble about this, possibly the best album I've heard all year! It's a mix album produced by George Martin and his son. It's the soundtrack to a stage production of Beatles songs, funnily enough called "Love". Non-Beatles fans may appreciate it, but the hardcore will find loads of stuff to pore over, as we usually do. Not only do the songs bleed into each other but they're properly mashed up too. Notable highlights? Drive My Car, The Word and What You're Doing mixed together into one track. The way that Being For The Benefit Of Mister Kite blends into I Want You, with bits of Helter Skelter thrown in. The sitar and vocal of Within You, Without You mixed with the bass and drums of Tomorrow Never Knows to make a whole new song. The different versions of Strawberry Fields (record version and demos) mixed together to make a new version. The demo version of While My Gently Weeps (just guitar and vocal, the one that can be found on the Anthology album) now has an amazing string arrangement to make it sound like a complete track. That's just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. I love it!

DANGERMAN
This has been on the radio all week, I've mixed feelings about it. There's no doubt that some of it's good, but it doesnt half seem cynical, not that I'd accuse McCartney of being a sellout *runs and hides*
Hendo
It's ok Oli, it's got absolutely nothing to do with McCartney, except that he performs on the recordings (obviously).
Chinzon
Having my first listen to this now, and I must say (pardon the cliche) it's like hearing these songs for the first time again! Masterful.
