Deep Down is being developed by Capcom Online Games and is to be showcased at TGS . The RPG was initially announced for PS4 back in February and it has received a new trailer.

The clip was published over on the official Deep Down site, and gives a glimpse of vicious ghouls and creatures.

Note that the URL also reads “PC”, suggesting that the game could hit both PS4 and PC at launch.

Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono took to the stage at Sony Computer Entertainment Japan's press conference this morning to unveil a new Deep Down trailer, below, as well as announce story information.

It turns out that Deep Down is set in New York in 2094, with the player is somehow able to see memories. Sounds a bit like Assassin's Creed.

The new footage shows off this future New York briefly, before revealing the dark, dank and cavernous interiors Deep Down had previously showcased.

Ono mentioned a procedural dungeon system and randomised monsters, and the ability to play online co-op with up to three friends. A demo will be playable at the Tokyo Game Show later this month.

Deep Down is developed using Capcom's new Panta Rhei game engine. Ono said Sony engineers were working with Capcom to help create the game for PS4.

Concerning the recent news on free to play for Deep Down, you can get balance issues, or pay to win, and they get tempted to design the game to squeeze money out of you, though that happens in some full priced games already with all the micro transactions.I do think while they are greedy, they can't be stupid enough to take the p**s too much, some companies can do it right and make lots of money of selling crap I'll never buy like hats and costume colours.I'd love to go back to the days of getting everything in the box for a set price, and get a massive add on pack like half life did, with essentially a whole new game, but these days you would find micro transactions and 3 hour add on's for a tenner, certain weapons you only get if you pre-order. it has already gone to s**t. at least with free to play I'm not paying any money for a crap 4 hour game anymore,I have hope, but then...it is Capcom!Fruit and nut!

You are a member of a secret organization called the Ravens (Think Freemasons or Knights of the Golden Circle) in 2094 New York City. By touching magical artifacts teleported back to the past to battle monsters and loot dungeons. That is the plot. It free-2-play and by Capcom, so it will be full of micro-transactions.

Gameplay starts at around the one minute mark. Looks amazing.

Kazunori Sugiura and Teruki Miyashita have worked on Monster Hunter Frontier G for Capcom, but the two producers have also been charged with the upcoming free-to-play PlayStation 4 title, deep down. They recently shared the latest developments for the game.

Sugiura starts out by explaining that while we’ve seen nothing but deep downscreenshots lately (along with teases from Yoshinori Ono), he’d like to take this opportunity to show a little more, and to assure fans that the game’s development is going smoothly.

At the 1:12 mark of the video, the developers show off the latest footage. The footage shows a bit of some multiplayer action with two players. It might look like a split-screen, but it’s actually two players both taking on dungeons on full screen. As you can see, there seems to be all kinds of different traps and environmental hazards in the dungeons.

At one point, you see one of the characters opening a treasure chest, but the producers mention that if one player opens a chest, it’ll still be available to open for the other player, so there won’t be any bickering going on between buddies.

Treasure chests might be sealed with magic, but as long as one player unlocks it using a magic item, it’ll be available to open for all players.

Next, they show a little bit of a quest that can be taken on with four players. In this quest, the goal is to see how many small-fry monsters they can take out within the allotted time. Using skills will come in handy, especially when taking on bigger foes like the one they show.

After further consulting with Yoshinori Ono, Sugiura was finally able to share thatdeep down’s open beta will take place sometime in 2015. At the moment, Capcom are testing out all kinds of different things on the game, and ask fans to wait just a little longer.
