mfnick
I really enjoyed this Boob of War game back in the day. I’d have definitely been up for another more refined sequel. Shame they never bothered.
HandsomeDead
I did play half of it last year, or maybe two years ago but I tapered off with it. It's fine, all the elements are there for a fun game but I think it just felt too derivative. It's hard to shake the off-brand God of War feeling it gives off. I don't know what the line is with a homage where it just barely has an identity of it's own. At its worst its like that movie studio that makes blockbuster knock-offs like Transmorphers and whatever else. I'm fine with a clear homage but there did seem to be something lacking with Dante's Inferno.
shinymcshine
The benefit I've got (sort of) is that I didn't play the GoW games (aside from a short session on the remastered ones before deciding that I wasn't keep on the button mashing combat) but this seems okay so far. shinymcshine
I've been enjoying this - but I've now hit a section that feels like filler - a bunch of challenge screens that have nothing particular to do with any story flow (get 50 combos, stay in the air for 8 seconds etc). Suppose I must be reaching towards the end though.
mfnick
Yea I do remember it running out of ideas by the end. That was one of its biggest issue from memory.
shinymcshine
All done - there were some parts that were great, the challenges towards the end not so great - and I suppose we will never see the "to be continued" - but it was a good change of pace for me coming off the back of 100+ hrs of Pathfinder WotR. Boobs!
DANGERMAN
Yeah, my lasting memory was that it wasn't as bad as the general reception. If they'd left some of the edge on the design room floor, and had a less dreadful PR campaign, it would have been received better
