Hendo

I'm stuck on the same bit as picks, I think. Not the actual boss, but the bloke outside. Any tips for a RPG noob? I've got a good few weapons now but no idea which is best and I can't eat anymore food as he gets full. I'm using the mole suit, by the way. Also what's the deal with that cat/dog thing? What's the point in his decal?

I don't think Ben was referring to my gig, Oli. (Though it went great, cheers!) Ok, I'll admit it - I went to see Sir Tom Jones in the Manchester MEN. Ratio of women to men - 75 : 25. Average age of said ladies? About 55 I'd say. You know what? He kicked ass. Much respect for the guy as he had nothing to flog - no new album to promote, nothing. Just seemed like he wanted to do it (can't imagine he really needs the money). I also bought a T-shirt and a poster that just screamed "buy me!". I'll put up a pic of it if I can be arsed and you can see why.

Bet this is sounding like a great advert to everyone that doesn't have the game eh? Looking at the Metacritic entry, the reports are actually pretty positive, and I can see this really opening up. I'm especially intrigued by what the apparent plot twists will be. All I know is that by reading the instructions, on info about the Prof. it asks him if he's hiding a secret from the boy and he says "Yes". Interesting... The thing that pisses me off though is how they're trying to make the game look. "It's all new! An RPG like you've never played with a totally different outlook!" Um, actually plotline aside, it's all fairly standard - it's just that instead of 'magic spell' they're called 'decals'. Big deal.

Well, the boss came in then fucked off after 2 hours so I wiped the data and started again. My guy is now called Froogle - no idea why, the only thing I could come up with that fit. Here's where I went wrong before. Firstly, I wasn't really paying attention to what was going on and what I was being told, and secondly, I was trying to play it like an action game - which it clearly isn't. So, this is my current tactic.... Enter first cave with 3 green worm/willy creatures. Kill them. Leave cave. Repeat. I'm now on 66 HP and have 1239 coins and I'm damn well not leaving the first cave until I can kill them every time with just one hit. Using this (admittedly dull) technique I might actually enjoy the game. I hate the beginnings of RPG's when you feel as weak as a kitten.

I'm gonna wipe the data later and start from scratch. I'll spend most of my day off going through it again and trying to understand it all. Maybe even use a guide. I'm getting fairly used to being behind the rest of you guys all the time. It could be like LostMagic though, where it's nothing great until you start levelling up and then it really starts going.

Well, I've done all the initial bollocks with the nosey professor, called myself Hendo and the little chap Columbo and had a few small fights. Love the whole look of it, but am constantly confused as what to do all the time. When he started talking about "decals" I just kinda zoned out for a minute. No idea what he was going on about.

Bar perhaps Starfox (which I'm getting less and less interested in playing) that looks like the essential list of games that I'd advise people to get! Top list there young man - not a turd in site. EDIT Just seen Nintendogs - well, not really for me I suppose, but does what it's meant to do pretty well.

First time now that I've tried out the rumble pack with the game. Doesn't do much at all - doesn't rumble when you win, nor when you lose. It just does 3 short vibrations when it's your turn. Meh.

Anyone still playing this? After finding the new levels I decided to play on (been a week or two) and am getting right back into it. I have only 3 golds so far, the rest being silver - I don't care about striving to get golds I just want to see as much of it as I can! Unlike most of you, I'm only on world 4 now. The wonders of magnets, eh?

I had no email about it, but it dropped off pending orders and is now in shipped bit along with the other 3 games I ordered at the same time. I'm guessing it's on the way. :S

Delivered on a sunday?! Oh well, hopefully my copy will arrive here tomorrow.
