  1. I like games like X-Blades so despite some crap reviews I gave it a go, I thought I'd get some enjoyment out of it. Nope, worst game I've played in ages, I didn't know they still made them that bad.

    Mass Effect

I don't think ME2 will be out this year but there is Alpha Protocol which is very much in the same vain as Mass Effect, made by the guys who did the sequal to Bioware's KoToR which I thought was pretty decent. I'm really do want ME2 though because this is still my favourite game of this generation, Fallout 3 is close but it's not quite there.
  3. Motorstorm: PR and Rock Band 2 have seen some action this week and also Deadly Creatures which I think is good but I don't know if I would recomend it, you'll find details in its thread. Fallout 3 is still getting played being the demanding mistress it is but I've been getting a little bored of its pace so to mix things up I've randomly started playing Ninja Gaiden II again, I tried to continue from where I left off but I was to far in the game to really come back to it after such a long time. I've ended up starting again and despite it not being as good as it should of been I still think it stands up as an enjoyable action game as it is and hopefully I'll stick through it until the end this time.
  4. Oh shit, feedback. I forgot. It was a while ago I actually listened so I can't remember much of what was said. I just have this notion that is was informative and entertaining, l sort of remember the news bit which I liked but there wasn't much interesting news around. Doin that around E3 time should be good though.
  5. Yeah, Bill and ma boy Dennis do a good job but I think that a few lesser known and cheaper voice actors could have done an equally good job. Unless veteran actors are going cheap these days. I sort of forgot to say that it's a game I'm happy I played and despite problems, such as some dodgey collision detection and motion controls but I liked what I played. If it was just a little more polished and more work went into the dull parts of the game I think I'd be singing it's praises as a cult classic but it just doesn't quite make it.
  6. A slightly delayed thread but it's now here, here's some brief thoughts. I finished it the weekend just gone and it's a game that's left me very conflicted. I think I liked it overall but the moment I sit down and think about what's wrong with it the more I wonder why. Essentially it's an action game in the mold of God of War but the combat itself reminded me more of Yakuza.. but with spiders. As the Tarantula the game is a bit more adventure-y, mostly because you will be exploring the areas by zipping about using web and fights are less frequant with the spider and that's good because compared to the Scorpion you have much less attacks at your disposal and you have to be more liberal with the moves you do have, which I guess is kind of fun in itself but with the Scorpion's extended combos and QTE style finishers it does lend itself to a more traditional action experiance. Quite a big issue I have with the game is the levels themselves. On the most part they are dull and unforgivably linear. It makes this more apparant because they are sections of the game that are open and interesting and really give you a chance to scurry about in all the nooks and crannies like a little creature would and it's times like this that the game makes sense, it is still linear but it doesn't really feel it, like it should be. personally, I think the story really shines though. It's not brilliant but it does kind of remind me of Half-Life 2 in that sense, that also doesn't have a great story but how it's told makes it interesting. When you're just wandering around the desert doing Deadly Creature stuff and that big bastard, man, comes along and does his business. It's very fly on the wall, or Tarantula on the rock stuff and I came to really like how the story unfolded and also it coming from the perspective of two different nasties and how they all interact. The ending deffinatly cements my oppinion that these little fuckers can't be trusted.
  7. I have tons of Rush and I don't care who knows it.
  8. I didn't expect a completly rational explanation, I was expecting you'd just watched three series of Seseme Street back to back or something.
  9. Now I'd hate to speak for both David and Spatular but I think when it comes to Rock Band the only response to your comments are it's our Puzzle Quest/Burnout Paradise. Another thing, what's with the Zee? Is the podcast trying to be more transatlantic?
  10. Wow! My worldwide drum ranking on Perfekte Welle isn't to shabby. There Goes My Gun is my most respectable guitar track and Beetlebum is my best song as a bassist. Notice how these songs are all piss easy and anything that requires a little skill is a little more unimpressive in the list.
  11. Been playing bits of Motorstorm: PR on Monday nights and sometimes on my own on other days of the week cos I'm like that, It's good noisy, manly and dirty fun, though I am quietly obsessed with increasing my online score which rarely happens because I still haven't learned the tracks properly, which you really need to do on this, I don't think I've played a racer like it in that sense. Mostly it's been Fallout 3 with the introduction of the new DLC I'm now able to explore the wasteland once again and it's still as interesting, tense, moving, enlightening and erotic as ever. But I'll leave it at that because this game breaks Hendo. Theres also a game I started tonight which I plan to play more if it doesn't break on me again, that is the most important game this year Deadly Creatures ladies and gentlemen. So far it just manages to be really interesting one moment with the ideas behind its narrative and frustrate the fuck out of you with unresponsive controls and crappy glitches the next. It's also not a good game for me because just walking the Spider/Scorpion around makes my skin crawl. I'll probably start a thread one day

    Prey

Prey 2 is coming, but the Duke Nukem guys arn't making it, the guys behind Turning Point and Legendary are making it. Nukem guys will be back for Prey 3 which will deffinitely happen, I bet my dignity on it.
  13. HandsomeDead

    Prey

It is a bit old school, it does play like those old PC shooters which I never played. Ultimatly I have fond memories of Prey, especially when you get abducted to Don't Fear the Reaper, I thought that was a nice touch. Tommy is a prick I suppose.
  14. Did the update kill your PS3? There was only me, Liamario and Ginj from NL tonight. There were good races too because when there was no randoms it meant I'd probably win. I think the update includes new times day, I'm sure the lighting was different on some races. I could of imagined it, I do that sometimes.
  15. I'll be around. Anything for you, my little Yorkshire Pudding.
  16. It's easy to forget how naff the NTSC Resi covers are.
  17. I'm glad you didn't go for it because you'd be explaining a joke I willingly made. It seems I was barking up the wrong tree because I was always going at the same time as the other guitarist, not after.
  18. I've been stuck on that one too, I'm also to the point of giving up. I just can't flick at the speed required..
  19. HandsomeDead

    Passage

I got it working after some prodding around, I'll spoiler what I did for those that haven't played it.
  20. HandsomeDead

    Passage

I can't get it to work. I don't have a clue when it comes to this sort of thing.
  21. A new trailer. Doesn't look in-game but if this is what we should be expecting then it looks pretty cool, different to the original but still nice. Edit: Dunno why the video game out so big.
  22. HandsomeDead

    Fallout 3

There is a sniper rifle, it's my weapon of choice, I've named her The Dutchess. Thanks to my high stealth skill and critical hit perks there isn't many raiders or super mutents that don't get killed with one bullet. I whole heartedly recomend it. Reading TGK post I see thats similar to what I did except I've only really started improving my lock-picking until late on. The only regret I have is the base stats that I left the vault with had very high big weapons stat, it's useless until late on and even then I don't like them, the rocket launcher is the only one I ended up using regularly.
  23. I don't think I ever got passed level 3 on the PSP one. Must get back to that cos it is rather good.
  24. HandsomeDead

    Fallout 3

Don't ask me about skill points, I think I've applied mine terribly. I hear of people running around punching Deathclaws in the face at my level yet I still have to be very careful with larger enemies. I thinks that's testament to how forgiving the game is if you think you're not applying your points right, so I wouldn't worry, just do what you think is right at the time. It was probably that attitude that got me bum raped in Oblivion.
  25. HandsomeDead

    Fallout 3

Booo, Hendo. Well, atleast you tried. I don't have much to add regarding the DLC. I'm in The Pitt and I was sent out on a mission to find 10 steel Ignets and the slavers were all like 'oooh, you'll never get them without being killed' and I'm like 'fuck off, shit for brains. I'll get loads'. I was getting loads but thanks to my lack of saving (which I usually get in the habit of doing) and me thinking that I can do some Mario-esque platforming around some very high girders I have now lost about an hours worth of playing because - surprisingly - Fallout 3 doesn't work very well as a platform game. Cunt.
