  1. It was odd that they chose a multiplayer demo to plug the game, if the game didn't have multiplayer at all I don't think anyone would of noticed.
  2. For me this is going down as the most surprisingly brilliant games this year. I was put off by some average reveiws but I ended up pretty much loving it. I didn't to start with though, you spend the start of the game virtually powerless and it plays like a very last gen third person shooter and its only with the abilities you get later in the game does the whole game come together. There is alot of ways of killing something later on, flinging cars into mechs, flinginging a man in the air and pumping him full of lead before he hits the ground or swinging around taking out enemies like Spiderman... with a granade launcher. It is the swinging that makes it for me, this could be because I've never played any of the Spiderman games so its like all new and novel. Swooping around and getting a lock on a flying machine baddy with a rocket launcher and then doing a 180 firing them off and then catching some scenerie and swinging away was a great power trip. It has its bad points I guess, the enviroments are samey and there has been some harsh difficulty spikes and I think the story is shit but I've stopped paying attention to that. After playing this I'm a bit sad that Grin are dead, I know the Terminator game was meant to be garbage but this showed a great grasp of what a good action game should be.
  3. I've just finished it and I was ready to go for 100% but I think I did it wrong, I think I've missed something that I can't get now. I'm not starting again now but I probably will at a later date and 100% it then.

There is a resemblance there but I thought she looked more like Michelle Rodriguez.
  5. A Pokemon game is the only one I can think of that needs a big shake up. In mine the whole Gym Leader idea will be abolished and replaced with another way of progression, I dunno what just something else. TMs would be seperate to your battle moveset and most battles will be totally optional, unless you are in an action part of the story (say infiltrating a Team Rocket type head-quarters). Some long overdue 8-way movement will be put in along with some less static animation in the battles, NPC's will also talk less bollocks.
  6. I just played another demo. Wet is up on PSN, a game made by a bunch of guys who's back catalogue is a bunch of fluff that no-one has played, but then again it was the same with Dead Space and that was pretty good. I liked the demo of Wet, its one of those silly action games, I'll be getting it when it inevitably ends up being about £15 a couple of months after its release.
  7. Finished 'Splosion Man this week, I did see-saw with my oppinion but when it comes to whether I like it I think I have to give it a thumb up, its hard work and more frustrating than it deserves to be but I still enjoyed enough of my time with it, may try the multi next. More XBLA love with Shadow Complex, its iffy at times with its combat which there is a surprising amount of. Metroid: Other M needs to be use this as a benchmark and really improve on it, if it isn't as good it could be more than a little embarrasing. I had a go at a little more CoD4 multiplayer early on in the week, I had some great matches (one involving me going from 5th to 1st in the space of the last 30 seconds in a every-man death match, I can't remember the last time I stood up and punched the air over a game before). I also started playing Bionic Commando - the new one - and I think its pretty good so far, the shooting is a bit unremarkable but swinging about is good when I'm not swinging into iron girders looking like a fucking prick and not a Commando, Bionic or otherwise.

Firstly, I remember getting some glitching in the characters, sometimes the eyes would stay partially shut and when the did blink their eyelids would stretch to their cheeks, it was actually quite scary. I like driving the Mako, thats because I have my own game where on a straight I would start fishtailing it and the jump to try to do a 360 in the air.. I only managed it once. The turret on the thing is fucking useless for shooting up or down on wonky terrain. Even with those querks its still the best game this gen in my flawless oppinion. And ooooh, some lovely DLC.
  9. I wasn't keen on Mini Ninjas but when I was done with the demo the trailer the show afterwards shows some really cool stuff so I'm thinking it could be one of the demos that doesn't do the game justice, or it is a bit dull. I liked the LP2 demo, I would say that though because I liked it first time round and bringing down hulking beasts with others is fun, I was surprised at the amount of people online, I thought it was four player co-op but there seemed to be other teams of four too which caused me to go 'who the fuck are these guys?' down the mic and people laughed, end of story. I hope LP2 isn't all like that, I haven't been following it but I hope this is just a little mode that accompanies a game that can be played alone.
  10. Shooty in the background bits are a bit dodgey, some of the animations are a bit 16bit but in HD and the turret sections has the most laughable AI seen for a good 10 years. Apart from that I think its fan-fooking-tastic, its right up my street this. I'm finding it a bit hard in parts though.
  11. I think its easier to list the XBLA games I didn't like. Space Giraffe and Prince of Persia Classic. Every other game I got off XBLA has seen much love, there are a few old grouches that don't do the download thing and it just puzzles me. I buy loads of the fuckers on all of the formats, they seem to best suit when you 30 mins to spare and can't quite face firing up a full retail game.
  12. *High fives* .. Thats wrong of me, I've never played Fable II but I'm aloud to piss over popular games too. Ass Creed 2 is a while away so I won't be getting my next fix for a while.
  13. I finished it tonight, just in time so my attention can move to Shadow Complex. At the start I loved it then halfway through things went bad, I'm sure there is some unfair sections there which push really press the wrong buttons. one of two things happened from the start of stage 3 onwards, it either got fairer or you get in the games flow and things that you were struggling with become second nature. I will give it its dues for keeping a simple gameplay concept original throughout, there was quite alot of variety in the puzzles and platforming. It really is the love/hate game, I really struggled to truly hate it after the ending too, I loved that. Got me my first premium theme aswell.

I've tried followers but they steal your kills so I tell them to fuck off. A follower would by handy here though...

It was when Deathclaws, Giant Radscorpions and Hard-as-Fuck-Mutants became commonplace that I had to stop playing. It's not that I couldn't fight them off more that it is too much of a slog, sneaking up on any of the fuckers would only take a third of health away and to kill them off was just backpeddle and shoot, I really missed those one-hit kills I was doing on everyone before. I should finish Broken Steel though but fighting two Deathclaws in an office block should be awesome but is as much fun as castrating yourself.

I think I heard something about BF:BC2 in Nuts Magazine too, maybe you should suscribe...
  18. Not much to report, I'm still playing little bits of Wipeout HD, I've unlocked the last set of races now but I've been playing it online mostly, it can be a bit laggy but other than that its all gravy. I'm just over an hour in but I've started Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core. Honestly at this point I'm not digging the combat, its far too simplistic and I can't see room for strategy which I was expecting. Another thing bothering me is they've made Zack a cock, in the original because of the lack of FMV with him in and no voice acting I imposed my own idea of his character onto him, which was that of a sound bloke. Here he's a typical Dante type but without the irony. I liked it when the old boss music kicked in during a fight and I still love the way Zack starts doing squat thrusts in the middle of a conversation, the lad needs some ritalin or something.
  19. Nonsense, I'm sick of a question coming up and I look cluelessly at anyone in the room and they say the middle one, so you press it and it turns out wrong. You look over again like all 'what the fuck, I thought you knew it?' and they're like 'it was just a guess, jeez' then I'm like 'don't fucking say anything if you don't know'. Then there's the other situation where I don't put the answer the say because they don't stress they know it, they sound like they're just guessing again and more arguements happen.
  20. I only need the Tour of Duty II 'ment from BF: 1943 and it will be the first game I've 100%'ed, achievement wise.
  21. Aye, thats who I was thinking of.
  22. I've been wanting to hit 20000 gamerpoints for what seems like an age now. I try to set goals sometimes but I never reach them, I get as far as deciding what game I'm going to play that evening, sometimes I don't stick to that...
  23. Nice work n00bs. It didn't skip, just Illdog's mic having a mind of its own with the volume. I don't know if there was too much rambling or not, I maybe got bored because the chat was about games I don't have alot of interest in. The little soundbites were a nice touch. Seems like it'll be okay when Hendo wants a hoiday.
  24. Its so easy just to press the wrong button sometimes, I've made some stupid answers that way. Who else was thrown by the Wilfred Smith question along with most?
