I think Xbox are trying to think about the future as obviously this time around their console has not done very well. I also think it says a lot that Xbox want to put their stuff on the other team’s machine just so they can sell to more people. But Sony are top dog right now and don’t have to share their toys with anyone. Even the cross platform play was just because of swelling negative press and not really because they want to.

Yes, Axiom Verge! This game is great. It is super hard, especially towards the end just getting through combat is very tough. But it’s a genuinely inspired Metroidvania that really takes that Super Metroid isolationist atmosphere and pushes it to new realms. This will be an odd pull but has anyone seen that gory/horror movie the cube? Axiom Verge, in a way, reminded me of that movie. Where it’s sci-fi, grungy, dark, severe and obviously like a puzzle box. But with some great pixel art ega monsters thrown in the mix. I think it might be slightly to clever for it’s own good, almost. Like I would never 100% it because the secrets are just too well hidden, but it does it in an impressive and subversive way as opposed something like Fez which is just obnoxious. I only played through it once and once and watched a 100% speedrun a while ago and it’s really very good.

Sonic Chronicles is surprisingly good. It’s very simple and easy, but it’s actually kind of cool. No one ever takes me seriously but most of the day time stages in Sonic Unleashed are great. It was the first time they ever did the 3D Sonic Rush thing and it was super enjoyable. Granted, there is another 2/3rds of that game which is pretty lame but the running bits are cool. Sonic Colours was also surprisingly good. They should remake that game and put it on Xbox

After the Sonic Boom designs and fiasco I don’t care anymore. As long as they keep making Sonic Mania style games let them ruin Sonic for the masses however they like

Actually I bet a lot of people designed that, it went through all kinds of approvals, from all kinds of tables, and they all looked at each other and went “Yeah, that’s good” and then they all got paid for it Crazy Someone in one of the meetings should of held up an original bit of artwork from a Sonic game and said “That isn’t that”

How did I never know about this? I thought I knew everything about the game. If I ever get back to master mode that should make things a bit easier

2 years on and still learning things about this game. Like you can parry back lasers from small guardians. I forgot how great this game is. (I’m watching someone play it, I’m not actually playing it)
