My entire physical game collection. I think the last disk I bought was enslaved. The other 360 titles were liberated from the collections of friends and family, and mass effect and DMC came with my series X. I certainly don't mind a disc, but it's mainly gamepass or the deals page on the Xbox store for me (where I've just bought prince of Persia and tomb raider underworld).

Suppose it's time for me to play hitman. I love the stealth in Dishonored, Deus ex, splinter cell etc, but when I played hitman years ago I just couldn't work out what the game wanted from me.

I played about an hour of it a few months ago to see how it looked/ran. I was rather impressed by the opening, I have to say, trying to escape that ship, and then driving around in the warthog in the ground.

It is done. Squad found and evacuated, alongside a friendly alien engineer, whose compatriots I've been gleefully slaughtering all game😕 Very enjoyable that one. Definitely going to take a break from halo now tho. Will probably play 4, then Reach when I resume. Am I right in thinking that 5 is multiplayer only? It seems to be by the description given in gamepass.

Isn't that something to do in co-op? I wouldn't do it because I hate people, especially their annoying voices.

It's time for Maf retrospective on Halo 2. It was just as good as the others as far as I'm concerned. Your young eyes might not have been able to cope with the extravagantly cinematic cutscenes.

I'm on the chapter called Data Hive, and going deep underground looking for the stranded captain. There have been some excellent levels in this, real showpieces for what the whole series stands for, and the more I've played the more I'm starting to think this little side game can hold its head with all the main entries. At first I didn't like it. I wasn't sure about the tone or the physical darkness of the city. But the strangeness of it has won me over, the quiet streets occupied by patrolling covenant forces, the possibility of stealthing thru buildings and those hints from the unknown. I found a few recordings from what seems to be young girl trying to get out of town. But I probably came to that too late to make sense of it. Yeah, I really like it now. It's so strange, like the way Rookie (or whoever the initial guy is) is piecing the narrative together thru finding bits of gear all over the city. Weird, and a bit chilling.

Started my sci-fi month a bit earlier than planned. Fired up Mass effect 3, still playing ODST, and have Metroid Dread waiting in the Switch (waiting for me to finish ODST). Looks great. Not as good as 2 for some reason, and this is the one where they run funny😄. But I'll tell you one thing, it feels (I've only played a bit) like they really streamlined the RPG out if this. The way the game handles weapons, upgrades, planet scanning is almost automatic in this. And when I imported my Shepard she had all her upgraded powers from 2. Maybe she loses them (Metroid like) at some point, but initially this is a pure action game. Having said that there's plenty of talking to be done, and the writing, once again, is excellent.

I'm feeling this now. This city is ours, and we're gonna defend it. I don't know why. We just are. Did a nice tank mission then had to defend this monumental plaza from a vast horde of covenant, until someone had the bright idea to trap us in a building full of explosives. That's were I left off. If we're going down here we're taking the covenant down with us.

I decided to look in on odst again, and sort of turned myself around on the game. A bit, at least. Got out of the city onto the beaches, and did one of the best warthog chapters I've done in the whole saga, with a gunman so well programmed to attack the biggest threat, it was like I was on the turret and driving at the same time. Great AI in these games, you have to say. Sadly I'm back in the city, but I think I've finally got a handle on how the game wants me to perform. Feel like I'm gonna see the thing out, which I didn't the other day.

For the first time in my Halo adventure I sort of put my controller down today playing ODST, and thought 'I don't know if I can be arsed with this one.' It's just a bit arcadey in design, at least in the first bit, like as though it's on rails and you're just plowing thru wave after wave of covenant. And it's a bit dark and gloomy. I don't know. Maybe I've just played too much halo. I've played a lot lately to be fair.

It's a fantastic misunderstanding of the nature of the halos, and just confirms what I've always suspected, Disturbed Swan is the prophet of truth.

I might have a go at odst then. I'm in no hurry to finish the series.

I actually got that mass effect edition in my Xbox SX bundle. I'm planning to play 3 in February (along side Metroid dread, which I finally got for Christmas off my kids) when my current gamepass sub runs out. If you haven't played them since they came out they're bloody great. 2 is still one of the best games ever made. So February is science fiction month for me. I might even watch the second series of Lost in Space to accompany my games. 😀
