  1. I did like the idea of Claire A and Leon B (if memory serves. It might have been reversed?) as canon to the game IE A completely different game based on which side of the truck you ended up on. So I remain cautious if they will differentiate between the two characters that much through purely separate campaigns from the outset. Or whether it will be limited to a couple of varied set pieces and variation to the side characters IE Ada for Sherry etc That said, if REmake: Nemesis is announced as a follow on/DLC to this game, I think I'll be buying a PS4.. and a TV to play it on!
  2. That sounds.. like a step backwards from the OG game? REmake only added to the base game, you would have thought Remake 2 would follow suit. Hopefully Hunk and Tofu won't be left on the cutting room floor in that case...
  3. I recall enjoying the 'B' game a lot more than the 'A' game in RE 2. So it will be interesting to see what they do with that in REmake 2.
  4. The tight corridors and limited inventory played up the "survival" aspect of the game too. Although the series is traditionally Survival Horror, that element has been diminished with each successive game.
  5. Yes it was... Being a Postie, I haven't actually had the time to do anything more than muse for the last few weeks.
  6. I had that game on DS ...and disliked it quite a bit. Can't remember the specifics but there is a voice in the back of my head that says I shouldn't bother to pick it up again to find out. Meanwhile I really need to play... something. On my Switch right now I have two games I haven't even booted up yet: Battlechasers: Nightwar and Smash Ultimate. Three games I am reasonably far into : Mario Odyssey, Hollow Knight, Dark Souls Remasted and two I've only really scratched the surface: Super Meat Boy and Shovel Knight. Not quite in the right frame of mind yet though.
  7. I always thought The RE Black Sheep was Code: Veronica? Personally Nemesis was my favourite of the original Trilogy. I always viewed him as the best way to make your antagonist a sustained threat. Walking through a quiet (previously 'safe zone') courtyard, then BAM Nemesis runs around the corner.. The tension was palpable in my younger days.
  8. I might have the free time to take this out of the box soon... Although I am also half-debating on whether to just bundle it up as an extra Christmas present to my nieces and never play it.
  9. Loved this too. Although in light of the subject matter, it does have zero chance of making the list.
  10. Flying in Mario has never been better than with The Cape. I thought the Flying Cap was among the worst Mario power ups for it's control scheme alone.

    The JRPG Thread

In that case I think Rogue Galaxy would be more up your street than any FF.
  12. It IS rhetorical within the context of this series. You answered that yourself. It is rhetorical because we don't know what Darkseid is to Scott or Barda. The Anti-Life Equation has been very context specific within DC. As in what it does depends on the writer. Grant Morrison gave it the definition you describe in Final Crisis, yet that is one of many. Scott makes a choice about what he chooses to believe by punching High Father, refuting his words.
  13. It does remind you how often we used to get royally screwed over when it came to game releases. NTSC vs. PAL and all that shite. I don't remember having any issues with controlling Banjo. I do recall have problems controlling Mario, getting him to do anything beyond the basics. Nostalgia aside, I remember the N64 control stick hurt, a lot.
  14. I did forget about Sin And Punishment. Largely because I never even heard of it before the Wii game. The Banjo comment is just crazy talk, DC. Put down the bottle! Never really been keen on Sports games, but I did adore 1080 Snowboarding. I even had a hat with it (a pre-order thing, perhaps?). It's a shame Nintendo didn't really keep 1080 and Wave Race series going with every successive Console release. I do recall a Wave Race sequel was released.. on something?
  15. I always felt Banjo-Kazooie was much better than Mario 64, in every way. However, other than Donkey Kong 64, I don't really know where the other Rare titles would stand regarding a Classic Mini console. Ideally Nintendo would find some loophole that would enable the titles licensed to that console to exist on the Classic, but I doubt such a loophole exists.
  16. Different context, Maf. But that did almost make me spit out my drink, so kudos.
  17. He punched Highfather because sometimes Perception is Reality. Believing a lie is often easier than admitting the truth. I did have to re-read #12 to appreciate it as an ending to the series overall. It was intended as a rhetorical question, Maf. 'Darkseid is'.
  18. I do love the Castlevania 64 games.. More so Legacy of Darkness than the first one. I know a lot of "purists" often turn their noses up when the series first made the leap to 3D, but who cares? Embrace change or stay in the past and rot, whatever floats your boat.
  19. It was bittersweet, Maf and open to interpretation. It was either real or not, depending on the reader. It was never going to be a "happily ever after" ending. The preceding 11 issues should have made that clear...
  20. I've always liked the oddities so prevalent on the system myself. Such as Space Station Silicon Valley, Body Harvest, Mischief Makers, Mystical Ninja, Fighters Destiny, Hybrid Heaven etc Another thing to bear in mind, given a limit of 20 games, what ratio to have Multiplayer vs Single Player games. Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Turok 1 & 2, Mario Kart, Diddy Kong Racing, F-Zero, Smash Bros, Mario Party, PokéMon Colosseum et al To include all of those might limit the pool of Single Player games down to 5, at the most. Minus three for Mario 64 and the two Zeldas and what are you left with?
  21. An interesting thought occurs to me, in light of countless ports and remasters, should Mario 64 and Zelda OoT/MM be on the Classic console?
  22. I had a lot of affection for the Original Beast itself. Although only rumoured at time of writing, it is however a virtual certainty. So lets chit chat. What would you like to see? From hardware improvements, both from it's namesake IE What to do about the Expansion Pak?? Meanwhile also addressing quality of life upgrades over the previous Classic Mini consoles. The controls would also be an interesting issue. The N64 controller gave us the Rumble Pak, the GB game thingy and the Memory card port. Now obviously the latter is redundant now, but the other two have potential applications. Naturally there is also the question of whether the Classic system should have Four Controller support and how many would come with it? Lastly of course, the games you'd like to see. The Wish List. Naturally there was a reduction of the volume of titles from the NES Mini to the SNES Mini. Therefore if we spitball 20 games as an estimate. Bear in Mind some may be forever off-Limits due to licensing issues... But we're talking theoretical, so let your imagination run wild.
  23. It. is. Maf... Dun dun dunn
