Downpour is reportedly a large town, connected up by a subway system that you can ride. According to a reader over on NeoGAF, water will play a major role in the game, including "bizarre water effects [that] look like an upside down river flowing across a ceiling" - whilst prominent locations seen in previous SH games like schools and hospitals will not make a return. Players will sometimes be encouraged to strike blows on enemies and flee, rather than always finish them off - and some boss fights will involve QuickTime Events. A reported upcoming demo will take place in the outskirts of Silent Hill. There will be side quests, and whilst there will be no weapon inventory, guns will weaken and break.
