Well the TV's are identical bar the size, so it should look the same on both really. If anything, mine should look a bit worse as the screen is larger. :S

Yeah, Hendo has the 32", and I have the same model but the 37" version. Here is a (not very good) pic I took of the Wii menu on the Galaxy screen, I can get in-game pics or of the menu screen etc later if Hendo can't.

    Super Mario Galaxy

I've just finished this, with 68 stars. I still have a whole galaxy to do that opened up just before I fought Bowser for the final time, along with all the stars I have missed. I have read all of the Storybook now as well, almost brings a tear to the eye! Fantastic game, I have absolutely nothing negative to say about Mario Galaxy. Without doubt my game of the year, and easily in my top ten of all-time. Slight spoiler for those who haven't finished: |I have a red star now, and done the first 100 purple coin challenge in Gate galaxy. Flying is fun!|

  7. Sorry dude, I thought I had replied to this. Regarding the battery, are you sure you aren't putting it into sleep mode instead of switching the machine off? Sleep mode drains the battery a lot. Flicking the switch up puts it into sleep mode, but holding the switch up for a few seconds turns the PSP off properly. I'm sure you knew that, but just checking! The battery is mega simple to replace, just remove the battery cover, pop the battery out and put the new one in. I'm not sure about batteries, but it's always best to buy from a reputable dealer, not eBay or the like. That way, you're pretty much guaranteed to get a genuine one and not a fake. I had a little look and can't see anywhere that sell them for a reasonable price, Amazon marketplace is full of fake '3600mAh' ones. While I'm here, I had an email from Sony asking me to sign up to their all-new PlayStation store that has PS1 games etc ready for download now. They gave me an incentive to sign up, WipEout PS1 free download! They should be sending me the free download code within 14 days. http://store.playstation.com/store/index.vm

''I'm doing science with my arse!''. Note the music. I'm at the start of the last level of Portal now, I'll try and get through it over the weekend.

    New TV

Hendo, these are my current settings for the Wii via component. Let me know if they improve your picture! I reckon I sit around 10 feet away from the screen on my sofa when I'm playing the Wii. I use the pouffe when I'm playing racing games on the 360, sat right in front of the screen.

  11. Play-Asia are opening pre-orders on the pads soon. Must get! If they happen to appear when I am at work (12:30-22:30 weekdays), could someone order me one please. http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-10u-49-en-70-2f4f.html

No wiivo, I've never heard of vizio. Best I can do is this, sorry.
  13. That time of the year again, the IGN Top 100 is for games released up until 31st Dec 2006, so no Galaxy, Orange Box etc will feature this year. http://top100.ign.com/2007/index.html A nice variation so far! I reckon it will be Super Mario Bros. at number one.

The Wii looks very nice indeed in 480p component, although it's not really very different to the RGB Scart that I was using on our old Toshiba flat CRT. Not that I can remember anyway. Saying that, the screen is nine inches larger, so any bad bits would stand out more I guess. RGB Scart on my CRT was very smooth, whereas component on the LCD is very sharp, and you can get the odd jaggy if it isn't set up spot on. I've only really played Super Mario Galaxy on the Wii since we got our new TV, and it looks superb.

    Super Mario Galaxy

I've been on 60 odd stars since Sunday but haven't been able to beat the game (well, Bowser) as Karen has been working nights and she wants to see it. Tomorrow...
  16. Has this been mentioned already? If so, I missed it. Anyway, ClubNintendo members in Japan have the chance to get their hands on a Super Famicom controller that works with the Wii Virtual Console. I REALLY want one. And yeah, I want the Galaxy soundtrack, too.

    The Orange Box

I started Portal tonight, and yeah, it's pretty good isn't it! I have played up until the beginning of Testchamber 17, and the game clock says I've been playing for 1hr 33min. I really like the simplicity of it, but also how well thought out the levels are. It has taxed my brain a couple times, trying to work out what I need to do in order to complete a level. The game has actually made me feel a bit queasy at times, I think my head is getting confused by how the Portal's act. I'll be playing this again after work tomorrow, and will probably end up finishing the last few levels before maybe going on to the Advanced ones.

    Wii shortage

Overclockers have Wii's for £328.99, Microdirect have them for £294, and CEX just £295 (2nd hand). Bargains, eh? Well, this one was!
  19. I've never bought, or played for that matter, a Guitar hero game. I don't know why, I guess it just doesn't really appeal to me. Does it fuck your hands up? I'm not sure whether I'll be getting this or not, but if I did it would be the 360 version that I go for.

    The Orange Box

I haven't played any of The Orange Box yet, due to Super Mario Galaxy, but I did spot this on rllmuk in the Portal thread.

    Super Mario Galaxy

50 stars in now, and I am still in awe at just how great Shigsy and EAD Tokyo have managed to make this game. Every level seems to bring something new into the mix, and it's just so overwhelming! I've not given my views on the music yet, but by God it is fantastic, epic even, and really adds to the overall experience. I've had some genuine hairs standing on the back of my neck moments. Karen and I played 'co-op' last night, and she really came in useful on the |Honey Climb| level, holding A on the enemies to stun them and stop them from moving towards me. I hope Super Mario Galaxy sells well.
  22. Placed horizontal (FTW!), hooked via official Component (used to be official RGB Scart), running 480p. I normally power down the Wii so the red light comes on, unless it's being played regularly, like now, in which case I leave it in Connect24. I'm also using the Wii with no flaps on the side and have been for months now, although that's only because I haven't gotten round to putting them back on yet! Launch day machine, no problems as of yet.

    Super Mario Galaxy

I've just received my 38th Star, and have now discovered the 4th main area (the Bedroom). I'm calling it a night there for my Mario goodness! This game just keeps on giving. Also, Super Mario Galaxy is now the best game EVER on GameRankings.com. Fantastic.
