There's a bit in the trailer where Dante is going "come here doggy", or whatever it is. Which is a clear signal there is going to be a rematch against Cerberus. The playthrough killer from the beginning of DMC3. That is cool, but at this point I want to know about which stuff is new. The bit where Nero drags around a giant chicken makes me wonder if they might implement some ideas from designing those big birdy beast fights in Dragons Dogma. If there is a Cerberus fight what could be that like When the demo comes out tomorrow some of you guys might start to see what I mean about the combat having a feeling of inertia to it. It's a lot less twitchy feeling to me cause you can't just cancel out of recovery animations as easily. If you're sensitive to that kind of thing anyway.

I think V's sarcastic parrot thing is basically like his "Daemon". Like in His Dark Materials a creature which changes shape constant depending on it and it's companion's mood. Maybe I can get regemond into DMC ?

Watched that trailer, V plays a lot like I'd expected. A lot of slow walking and teleporting. Sort of like the way you are supposed to play as Vergil on DMC4. The area they showed reminded me of Shoreditch a little. There's one thing I want to say. When this game got shown off I thought it looked a lot like DmC with its newer, more grounded style. But in all the trailers since it's had this very muted colour palette which I'm not much fond of. I wish it was more colourful. Also new vocalist or not the music for Dante still sounds terrible. Game is such a weird mish mash of styles. Honestly I don't think all that stuff works, it's a bit all over the place. But the most important thing is how it plays.

Well I was already thinking of getting an S cause I cant download 4k movies for my new TV and it has a UHD player. Not that that barely qualifies as a factor compared with playing the DMC 5 demo as much as I want

I still think the Dante track sounds like suicide toilet and a new vocalist won't help that but his gameplay would be weird with Devil Trigger (the Nero battle song) I think tonight we are getting V gameplay. He's a new character, it's not Vergil

So I checked GoW again and the HDR icon wasn't on again, I guess I've not seen it in HDR then ? I don't know how to get it working. Maybe I update the TV or something. But I'm not interested in GoW right now when I can be playing a butt ugly game like Dragons Dogma instead The only ones I've seen are SOTC and XV. SOTC is just very muted. XV I didn't spend enough time with. Maybe I'll try that DLC finally. I also tried Red Dead and it reminded me of the effect of putting on 3d glasses and how it dims films. At this rate I'll say I'm fine if HDR had input lag, I don't know if I will be using it when DMC5 comes around ?⚔️???

It's shocking how bad Skype got They fucking broke Skype on Android guys. Then they gave it a redesign that made it awful to use. And that's just how they ruined it on mobile.

That's not condescending, this is all new to me I've done that I think. One thing tho is while playing GoW is the bar on the screen just said UHD. Later on with SOTC and when I had a new HDMI it was saying UHD and HDR, so possibly the signal wasn't been read properly and the cable was shit. I'll try GoW again later but SOTC and XV weren't amazing to me. I'm watching a 1080p Blu-ray of Creed right now and the contrast makes it so much better looking.

I got my TV set up. My first impression is I'll have to admit disappointment at HDR, or at least this TV's implementation of it. I'm not getting the eye popping experience I'd expected. But this is likely due to the tier of TV from what I'm reading. Some don't offer "proper" HDR and OLED screens seems to be where the party is. I couldnt tell a difference in Alfheim in GoW. I notice that turning it on during SOTC that the visuals become even more muted than usual which is a surprise but I guess there's lots of dull colours on that higher dynamic range as well. But you know, this is still the best TV I've ever owned and a substantial upgrade from a PC monitor with no sound. It'll do for stabbing Cyclops and wrangling varmints ?

So Assassin has stuff that literally makes it way stronger but only when you play at night ☹️ When I level assassin then that's it I think, I need to go and have another go at warrior but I'm not touching magic in this NG cycle unless I find a fast way to level vocations. For the cockatrice have a sorceror with the void spell move I think? It's something like that, it removes debuffs and petrify. I have it on all the time anyway.

Was watching Sly's stream, got to log off as the meds are making me sleepy but here's a few thoughts I have about the strider class. The dodge roll skill makes it way easier to escape danger from the big enemies with really obvious tells, like Cyclops. It just negates a lot of attacks. Other vocations carry this ability as well but I think you only have it with daggers. But the best thing about strider imo is that sprint ability. It depends on your preferred playstyle but for me I love the mobility it offers. Sprinting off an elevated position down onto bandits or beasts and doing helm splitters (HS damage increases the more air you have) Some people don't like sprint tho and find it useless however so YMMV Oh yeah, also buy helm splitter. All that said I've not really dived deep into the bow and arrow moves in this game. I tend to use only two bow moves. The one that has a really long wind up (mighty bend? Dire shot?) or the ones that shoot a horizontal line of arrows, like five or seven at a time.

Far Cry needs to get Ass Creed Origined I like the concept of those games, Far Cry 2 especially. But it's too easy to predict what these games will look like now. Towers or no towers. With RDR's success I think they could have another go at something with hard edges like FC2 and make it work.

Forget what I said, online co-op missions are great fun. Lassoed some varmints and had a great time. Maf come join my cowboy crew ?

Can I get hunting equipment (bow and/or hunting rifle) without doing story missions in the online? I just hate how Rockstar design missions but would like to RP as a hunter online for a bit now and then. Also waiting for matchmaking is boring.

Aw man I need to take a dogma break for a bit I think. I'm sort of hitting a progress wall with it. Under-levelled and have spent a long time with a class I wasn't super keen on (ranger) and starting a new one which is tough until you actually learn the cool new skills

I dunno about Assassin. If I go for something like swords and bows I feel like I'm missing defense options like dodge roll. If I go sword and shield it just feels like fighter Maybe it gets better later when ass-exclusive skills unlock. I found some dumb side quests which are help out the duchess (fuk that) or break this guy out of prison. I'm just going to kill some monsters instead I think. Can't deal with the quest design here tbh. Hard to keep up with gear requirements tho with a class like assassin, which can use so much stuff.

I've done most of the sidequests I've found except for that one where they asked me to escort a little girl who walks really slow, I legged it and did other stuff There's one I have which is kill 50 rabbits ? I am going to Soulflayer cavern to check that out. I remember getting an achievement for going in but left it at the time so I figure there's interesting shit to see I spend all my gold all the time. I find when it comes to damage I'm very dependant on getting an element buff from mages/sorcerors. I wish magic users could equip more than 6 skills. Forging wyrmking ring? Uh ??

Triple triad is also in FFXIV, but the AI is rubbish. Triple Triad in VIII is like the hunting in Red dead for me. Better than the main game

I'm wondering what people's favourite vocations are? I've really liked the strider and fighter. Fighter for the shield parry move. Strider for mobility. Warrior I did not put a lot of time into cause of the three skill limit. That vocation basically feels like the Guts from Berserk vocation. What is Assassin like? I'm goin to go for an even spread on this rather than min-max and use as many vocations as possible I think. Then if I ever play again I'll just use the ones I like.

I've stoppes watching the previews of this. I know the original scenario but I feel like Capcom show too much of their games these days in too much detail. I played RE2 really late. 2011 I think it was either in PS3 or some dodgey emulator cause I wanted to play the classic games before RE6. I hated 1 (original, not remake. Did not play Remake until ps4) but the technical step up from 1 to 2 was incredible. Even to a jaded soul like me playing them years and years later, it was such a big improvement as soon as it opens up. I am wondering how RE3 will get treated. If it's something they can do as a sort of "season 2" for this game. Or will they have a big rethink of that game to work out how to implement the Nemesis stuff so it's actually like he's chasing you a la Alien Isolation.

I wandered into an area I was clearly unprepared for and received a miserable bollocking. Got as far as the black chimera before throwing in the towel. I am level 48 but I think the real problem is gear I have my archer vocation at the second last level and got a "plain longbow" and levelled it to 3 stars. I generally don't buy weapons in this game, I just upgrade what I find but I think I need the power now. Even tho it's "plain" this is the best one for sale right now. Although he does say they're masterworks all and you can't go wrong ? My sorceress pawn Iris reached the highest vocation level and got the augment that allows quicker invocation of spells, so I'm betting she becomes more deadly as a result. The sorcerer is a particularly tough vocation to purchase skills for as they're so expensive. So I guess I'm going to fuck around the map a bit finding monsters and trying to afford that gear. My next vocation will be assassin I think cause I've done all the other melee ones (fighter, warrior, strider and archer) Archer I think is my least favourite vocation so far. It's like a slower but more powerful strider. But strider had a big emphasis on sprinting at and jumping on enemies from great heights doing higher damage the more air they have. It's like 50-50 with daggers and arrows with them. The archer is not at all about that. It's much more rubbish at daggers nuch better at arrows. These differences are interesting but I think I won't be touching archer again really.
