This. This. And this. Even though the visuals and effects are way more intricate, I still don't think it's as good a game as Rez. The first level was quite basic but the second really ramped it up. Playing it on the controller currently, but i'm borrowing a mate's Kinect later in the week to give that a go as well. Glad I didn't pay anywhere near full price for it (had it on my pre-order list for ages), I would've been rather disappointed if I had.

This is good news, especially if there's more to come. Glad they're at least making an effort to rectify the online situation, I can't see them going the whole hog and allowing friends to group up though. Also happy to see they're fixing some effects, Ring of Fog is a biggie. Not being able to see someone sneak up on you if they're very careful is one thing, but not being able to target them at all is just ridiculous. Bit weird they're allowing unlimited uses of magic and items, didn't realise it was a problem for anyone. I'm hoping this is a mis-translation though as that could be potentially game breaking.
  4. I think I may do that also. I'd rather get it from ShopTo, but £15 is quite a chunk of scratch considering everything that's out in November.
  5. Saw this on Savvy Gamer and the comments seemed favourable so I thought i'd give it a punt. http://savygamer.co.uk/2011/10/15/child-of-eden-xbox-360-7-50 I'll update once I receive my code. [EDIT] Got my code. That was quick.
  6. Played the trial and really enjoyed it although I could see how repetitive it would eventually become. Will be waiting for it to become cheaper before purchasing.
  7. He's voiced by Nolan North . His IMDB page is packed with stuff I didn't even know he'd done. Been a busy boy with this, Uncharted and Assassin's Creed out in the next few weeks.

I'm getting very near to the end of this, in fact I think i'm able to challenge the final few bosses right now, but it's a point of no return thing and there's still areas i've yet to visit. Like Illdog i'll be playing the shit out of Batman, Skyrim and Zelda (also AC:R and Saints Row 3) for the forseeable future so as much as it pains me to do so I guess i'll have to come back to this later, at least until Batman is all finished up anyway (for another thread but how fucking ace is that game looking?? ). Also, for you achievement whores out there, I found out that you can grab the achievements for joining covenants without actually joining them. The achievement will pop as soon as the confirmation message appears asking if you want to join. You can then just select NO and carry on in your original covenant if you'd rather not actually join them.
  9. I think this may be a touch too far with this online pass business. It's looking set to blow up and become the new horse armor. I can understand why these online passes exist but the only people this is actually affecting a great deal is the second hand consumers. I was under the impression that the Catwomen scenes were a part of the main story (as opposed to the Robin & Nightwing stuff which are just for the challenge maps). Unless she also has a separate side-story, it's a bit off to be withholding parts of the campaign unless you've bought the game new.

As Lakitu said, use large arrows. If you stand in the middle arch (once you've taken the enemies out ofc) and shoot the tail, you can then shoot it again when he lands on the bridge as the tail drops down right next to you. You have to be quick about the second shot but if you can pull it off it'll take no time at all. And the sword is definitely worth it, trust me, especially early on. Thanks for that farming info Lakitu! Managed to farm over 100K souls in about 20 mins or so although i've since joined the Forest Hunters covenant so the dudes there won't attack me anymore. It does mean I get to be pulled into people's games to fuck them up when they try to trespass in that forest area though

    Dead Rising 2

Weirdly I really want this despite giving up on DR2 due to the cheap-ass Twins boss encounter. That annoyed me past the point of no return. I guess i'm hoping that having Frank back with his camera will make it all better, although there's a little voice in the back of my mind saying "no, it won't" At the £20 mark though i'll probably cave and pick it up once the rest of this years releases are past.

There's no party chat but you can initiate a private chat with someone. Which is weird they'd allow one and not the other. When i've joined games they've requested chats and it's worked. Bit weird just chatting to strangers but you're both focused on the task so it doesn't matter really. Completed Sen's Fortress like a boss. Human form all the way and no deaths, including kicking the bosses ass. BOOM. Felt awesome when that cunt went down. Upgraded my main weapons so they kick even more demon ass now. The next part was... Just wow. Found a lightning spear which is wiping the floor with almost everything prior to where I am now. Also found a Divine Sword so I can finally bust up ghosts and those Skelly's in the graveyard once and for all. This one's for you Sly! This game just gets better and better, it's just so fucking rewarding. I've put almost 40 hours in and it still keeps on giving!

Found an excellent farming spot for Humanity last night. First make sure you're in human form and have some humanity already. The higher your humanity meter the quicker you can farm as it increases your item drop rate. You can still do this without, it'll just take a bit longer. The rats have a chance to drop humanity in item form and there's a big bunch of them right next to a bonfire in the sewers. Leave the first bonfire in the sewers, killing the torch wielding dude as you pass so he doesn't give chase and ruin your day. Turn right down the stairs, continue forwards down another set and you should see a bunch of rats to your right. Kill these and pick up any drops. Turn around and follow the corridor along watching out for the rat in a box as you approach the corner. Keep following the corridor round and drop down to find another four rats to kill. Run back to the bonfire then rinse and repeat. Whilst they're a somewhat rare drop, I managed to collect about 10 humanity (humanities?? ) in the space of just under an hour, not to mention a good chunk of souls to boot. Bit of a boring process but the rats dies quickly and it's always good to hold back a few humanity in your inventory just in case.

Fed a big serpent thing some shit pies in exchange for souls last night. He fucking loves 'em My one wish was that the co-op was better implemented in this. Well, not even that really, even if the game had dedicated servers like Demon's Souls it'd be an improvement as there would be more summon signs littered about. In Demon's Souls' heyday you couldn't move for messages, shadows of other players and summon requests. I know the sense of isolation was intended but having proper co-op where you can choose friends to summon in would've elevated the experience rather than hindered it. I can't see them ever patching it in, despite the community being up in arms about the state of online play, as they never fixed hardly anything in Demon's Souls. Fingers crossed though.

I think in that fight the problem lies more with the tiny room than the boss itself. With enough room to move about these dudes are pretty easy to down. Here's how I finally managed to kill him: I dispatched the Capra Demon with a light melee class, anything that can roll about quickly is better for that fight. Not sure how you'd fair with a caster. Not very well I expect.

Dont suppose its the Carpa Demon is it? Cos he's making me hate this game. Its the first time ive found it unenjoyably frustrating. Its hard enough getting to him, but he knocks you down pretty quick and there's barely enough time to get out the way before his second hit kills you. And 70% of the time i cant get out the way. After the 4th time of getting to him after getting past all the pissing skinless wolfs and soldiers and dying from two quick hits i gave up. Just cant be arsed to keep running a;; that way. May try again tomorrow. It wasn't the Capra Demon, it was something else that was much, much bigger To save you some frustration, and because that he can be a real dick: Get some help in if you can, this goes for any of the bosses, makes things a bit easier at least. Raptr counts 27 hours played this weekend. Wow. I've fought a number of the big bosses, done alot of co-op which is awesome when it works. I'm at a point now where despite leveling up a great deal, everything is gigantic and hard as fuck. Where do you go when you're stuck between a rock and a hard place??
  20. For that example, games being released on PSN/XBLA when they really should have been on iPhone/Android, yes. Burnout Crash would definitely be better suited to a mobile platform. Never thought that when it came to 360/PS3/PC games though.

Had my first "FUUUUUUUUUUuuuuuuuuuuuuuu..." moment today. Lost somewhere in the region of 12000 souls and 10 humanity from steaming into a boss area without realising *cry* I fucking hate this game. But I fucking LOVE it as well I've found that you can farm humanity pretty effectively from putting a summon sign down outside boss rooms. Kill the boss and walk away with the souls and +1 humanity or die and return to your world with no consequence. Means it's not as rare a commodity as I first assumed. Plus you get to see the boss first hand and practice a bit if you're having trouble.

It's still a dick, dude. You don't have a hub anymore but you do have bonfires which act as checkpoints and some of these can be quite far away. You do open up shortcuts through the world as you progress though, which makes it a bit easier, but it's still a trek most of the time.

Nah, I shit myself and booked it straight out the door I've since found out though that if you do kill him first time you get a massive cool looking mace. The only sensible way to do is by taking the black firebombs as your gift, which is a bit of a waste of a gift considering you need 46 strength to use the damn thing properly. One for NG+ methinks although there are some nutters who've killed it with nothing but their bare hands. Takes about 45 mins apparently

The church bells? Damn, you're a machine! I literally had to force myself to turn it off and I still sat in bed a read some more of the mini-guide Not looking forward to continuing from where I left off though. From what I gleaned of my furtive glances at various routes I can take, each one has what looks like instant death in a suit of armour guarding it One thing I have noticed is the game increases my vocabulary of swears tenfold. I don't think I've ever used the phrase "Shit on a salad" until last night
