Oliath
I was a massive fan of their first alblum... to the point where i could not listen to it anymore through overplaying it. I spotted their second album on itunes yesterday while pottering around on the interwebs...... for £5.99!!!!... Its REALLY different from their first album... which i think is a very good thing. Only having my second play through now, but really really enjoying it. Its hard to describe what its like, but it does seem like they have matured as artists and fair play to them for not just going down the tried and tested safe route of reproducing what they produced before. Hendo
I've got the first album, it's actually better than I was expecting and not quite what I was expecting either. They're always linked with Fall Out Boy, and the singers do both have similar voices, but PATD are very different, and what I've heard of the new album it's far less rock than before. HandsomeDead
I have it too. There was all this talk of 'Emo' and I didn't have a clue what it was so being the slightly experimental type I am I picked up Panic at the Disco's first album out of curiousity (also borrowed one of the My Chemical Romance ones but that one was pish). I don't think it's a bad listen. It has palletable melodrama and some great melodies. Can't say they grabbed me enough there next effort but I'm certainly no Emo nay-sayer. It's those Jamie T/Lily Allen Mockney types that grate on me.

Oliath
I think that is because they are genuinely all musicians and into the music as opposed to after the fame and glory.... Perhaps their own music tastes have changed as they have grown up (the oldest band member is only 21) and so they decided to change their own music style with it. I have listened a couple of times now and its really quite good. Very large mix of different sounds. You can see that they are heavily influenced by some the beatles at this point.... mainly Sgt Peppers album.
