Hendo

Following on from this, I've had an idea on challenges to run alongside the achievements. Basically, someone sets a challenge for a score on a game (eg. Beat my time on this course on MK) and the first person to post proof that they have beaten it then gets to choose the next challenge. The only snag being we'd have to draw up a list of the games allowed to be used as it would be unfair to use games that say only a couple of people have (I'm looking at Bleach here to be honest). Anyone up for this?

That sounds good. I've got some new ideas myself and I'll add them to the Achievements thread later. We did try doing tournaments ages ago, but they fell apart as it was difficult to get people to find common time to play each other, but worth a try now the dust has settled.

That sucks. Though at least you'll be able to load that dice yet again soon.

Personally, I think it should be only one thing per game - the very hardest most elite thing you could do. Like, 3 stars on MK, a full museum on AC (it's impossible to share fish and bugs, you see), etc. If it was easier to video your gaming, stunts would work.

It's possible I suppose but maybe out of my tech "skills". I'll certainly have a look into it, but first I need to patch the forum, update the software, scout around for security updates, get a life....you know, the usual.

I got past the guy I was stuck on (Centy's method worked a treat!), then did the stone boss (who was actually piss easy - did him first go) then did a side quest and now I'm off to the next island. I think it's great! The reviews have actually been spot on - not the best RPG ever but has its merits and charm certainly.

This is something we've been kicking round for some time but have come stuck of how to actually make it work. Any ideas or feedback would be great.... Ouenden Finish Cheerleader Mode Maybe best to have a list of each game with the achievements, and a page with a highscore league? Depending on the game, I suppose we'd ask for pics or videos for proof. Some games like AC and MK you can get proof by playing them online. There's the idea that you'll get points for achievements and we'll have a highscore table with who's got the most points, etc.

T'was ages ago, Sly! As in, before the site went tits up and we had to start from scratch. There wasn't a single person who wanted it to be multi-format, which surprised me.

Well, in fairness, relmatos, the site is meant to be Nintendo-related as a whole. We just focus on the DS and Wii as the site was built out of practicality but is now more of a Nintendo in general kind of thing. Besides which, it'd be pretty pointless having a large Wii section now when it isn't out for over a month and some here aren't even bothering then. Personally, I'm against the idea of using the Events for multi-format. Either multi in Off-Topic, a new menu for multi or none at all - it's your choice. But I made a dick of myself last time for suggesting we went multi-format (and getting slammed for it) and yet here I am moving First Impression topics around as they're for other formats. Go figure.

One of the reasons I wish that the old database wasn't wiped is that everytime someone brings up wanting to talk about something multi-format I'd be able to link to the thread we had (most current members were still here) when I wanted to make the site multi-format as I suspected most were here for the banter rather than the DS, and the unaimous response was "Oh no! This should be DS & Wii only or just Nintendo!" This is what you lot wanted, so try and keep anything to do with a non-Nintendo machine in Off-Topic. Maybe we'll make a new part of the forum just for multi-format stuff, but if the activity there gets busier than the rest of the site, we'll have to bring up that old question again. Cheers, ears!

Did you buy using a credit card? If so, you should be ok. Though I'm no expert on these things, but I would've thought if it's still under warranty you'll be fine either way.

Apart from the look of it, the fact that it seems to sound like PW makes me interested. I'll be looking forward to getting more impressions from your bad self, and see how you think the less than enthusiastic reviews stand up.
