The demo is up right now - go get it, guys and gals, and Sly!

First impressions - pretty damn good! Slick interface - already played local with my girls and a silky smooth online game. Couldn't figure out how the VOIP worked though.

Nice graphics, 3D is good. Dungeon changes each time you play the level. Nice beasties, good sound. Only two playable classes for the demo, although luckily for me one of them is a ranged class, my natural default.

What do you think?

I've been playing this for a good hour or two now, and I really like it! Good use of 3D, slick online interface, nice questing, nice loot, well designed dungeons and so on. It's like Torchlight, but with 4 players, some puzzling, and more variety of classes. Oh, and its in 3D, so that gets bonus points from me as well.

When it gets cheap I will get. I have no idea what it is. I want it to stay that way, maybe it'll surprise me. Or anger me. Who fucking knows.

EDIT: Fuck it. Bought. This better be amazing Scow, or I shall be coming for your soul.

I never said it was amazing!

Glad you bought it though - if you see me online, jump into my game!

I hate that. I spent ages walking around Leeds looking for Saints Row 3 and couldn't find a new copy for shit. Used copies were trading for the price of new, which I wasn't going to bite for because of the whole online pass bullshit. I ended up with Dead Island in the end.

Well I continued to play and enjoy HoR today. one of my few gripes with the multiplayer questing is that if one of your three compadres hands in a quest you have, yours gets handed in automatically too. This means I keep missing chunks of exposition and plot points. Heigh ho. It's still a fun game for all that..

Mine should be here between Thursday and Saturday. Can you have multiple games on the go? I'd like us to all pick a different class and play the game together to completion, if that is at all possible?

What class did you pick Scow?

There are four classes, and four save slots. Handy, eh? I have a level 8 Alchitect and a level 15 gunslinger. Happy to start another class for multiplayer if needs be.

Got it. We had a power cut which gave me 30 odd minutes with it. I picked a class and jumped into the game and yeah. It's quite good. I can imagine it being really fun with 4 players all playing a different role. The menus are a bit confusing but I think that's always the way when you start playing these games, if none of it was there it would be too simple so I'm guessing I'll get used to it. I'll keep at it with my chosen toon, but I'd really like to get at it with some friends all playing through at the same time.

Anything think I'm not too sure on, does the loot system work like that of Torchlight where you can store stuff for other run-throughs to use? I noticed that they have used the same loot colour system from WoW (which no doubt stole it from elsewhere) but the item I got wasn't for the person I'm playing through as. It did mention that the market was other peoples casts off or something, but I've no idea how that works.

I made a little remembrance memorial for the hill I cut in half. It needs a bit of work and I may move it about until I feel I've got the location right. It has a little gimmick too. I wont be putting direct pictures up of it, although it might be in some of the backgrounds of future ones. If you want to see it you'll have to come and tread my settlement.

Ah shit, yes, that last post was meant to go in Minecraft. I probably got distracted and came in here by mistake.

I played a proper chunk of this this morning and it's rather good isn't it?

First of all, the controls are good bar the blocking, although that doesn't really matter to the Savage as ever time I land a successive hit I gain health from it. I do wish there was some other way to block and that the block cone you got from blocking was a big bigger, simply because it's easy to get surrounded and lose a lot of energy. Putting both roll and block on the same button can mean sometimes you roll into attacks instead of blocking them, which is sort of annoying.

Questing is interesting. So far there have been several quests that have been spoon fed directly into my gaming palate, but there are other quest relating to specific dungeons that require you to work out what you have to do and have a bit of puzzling light to them, which is a bit of a break from all the hacking and slashing. I welcome it.

The thing I really like about the game is how it implements online. Everything you sell goes back into the vendors online for somebody else to buy. So instead of shops being full of shit that you'll never ever see any use for, browsing can actually turn up some really cool loot that can rival anything you'll see in a drop. It also needs mentioning that picking the loots up has taken the Torchlight way a little bit further, you can either press up to equip on the spot or down to sell right away at a lower price than actually selling direct to a vendor.

The things I don't like about the game is that the way you spent point in your specialisation is a bit shit. They've made it so that you have no choice but to straddle 2 trees if you want to spend the points right away. I am seriously against the way they have put level locks on the skills, if I have the points I should be able to spend them. As it stands now I have points left over and I won't be able to spend them until I get past a certain level, and by then I'm going to have a fuck load of skill points that I wont be able to spend on something that I can use I presume. This is also one of the few games I cannot play in 2D, I think it looks really weird when you play it in 2D

Overall though, it's a really good game. If they do a sequel and iron the kinks out you have a potential AAA game on your hands. Or in your hands even, given it is portable.

I will be on later, although it might be a bit later than 8pm. I suggest we all create new characters for out playthrough? I want to try the Lion dude, but I'm not bothered as long as I don't have to play the Savage. In fact I'll boot the game up now and create one of each class So I can just jump in later. I need to link my game to the website too for the daily challenges and extra XP larks.

PRE-POST EDIT: My internet appears to be crashing and fucking up again. I'm hoping it levels out and I don't have a replay of what happened last night.
