So the next PlayStation 4 exclusive has released and I booted it up earlier, only played for around an hour and a half so I'm still very early in the game... Still doing tutorial stuff if I'm being honest. (This guy has such a shit name...) So not to spoil anything I'll be vague about the opening, after a brief cutscene showing things going to hell your thrown forward a couple of years in to the outbreak and in pursuit of someone on bikes. First thing that hit me with the bike is the weight of the thing, it was quite easy to steer only to think you need to compensate and then just start zigzagging down the road... Obviously that'll change given more time on the thing. Second thing is this game is going to be brutal to it's characters that's obvious from the off and it's something I like. (Like me, Deacon likes to loiter in bushes...) Other things introduced are stealth, melee combat and shooting all of which are similar (if not identical) to a number of games you'll have already played. All these things seem to work fine in this game though, so far, and feel quite natural. The only thing I'm not too sure with at the minute is how the save system works, it routinely makes auto saves and I also made a manual save where I thought I was safe to do so but after booting up the game to check (something I'll do with a new game) I was set back in the story by about 15 minutes, which is a bit shit. Anyhow, it's very early day like I said but I'm quietly confident that I'm going to have a decent time with this.

I've just had to check how much Virtua Racing was on release for the Megadrive, for some reason I had it in my head I paid £100 for it but turns out it was £70. For three tracks...

I didn't finish the title as a figured the thread may change over time, we'll see. Anyway to start off, Whats your most expensive game? Could be a one off purchase of a highly collectible gem, a game with loads of Dlc or a game (God forbid) you spunked a load of money up the wall with on microtransactions. I think for me it would probably be the American version of Resident Evil Zero (GC) I picked up in (then) Another World, I needed a Freeloader to actually run the the thing which cost around 25 quid, the game was £70 so all told around £95 to play that. Could've been worse.

I have to admit I never actually played either L4D game... I never liked the idea of a multiplayer only game back in those days.

I'm in to the parking lot, I was laughing for a while having used only one red/green herb combo but Birkin cost me four health top ups and almost all my ammo reserves... and all my defense items save the knife (which you can actually lose) There's also the problem that most of the corridors in the station are now overrun with zombies and lickers, it's gonna be fun leading Mr X around in that mess when he shows up. Think I've saved four times and have five ribbons left.

@Middle_Class_Hero... Time is the only thing that matters if you want a S rank to get an S+ you can only save three times, nothing else matters. That's pretty much exactly where I left off with Leon in Hardcore yesterday... I have one very important item over you though... The unbreakable knife. Hardcore has already changed how I'm playing the game, previous runs were all about the headshots now it's kneecapping them and slashing the fuck out of them until they don't get back up.

If you're playing with old knowledge you'd know you can't take... you could knock him down but he'd always get back to his feet, he was scripted in the original game and the trick was always getting past him expanding the least ammo possible. He works a whole lot different in this game, I've seen people moaning about him warping to their position, in my experience that's utter bollocks... I've never once felt jipped by his appearance and once he is following you its easy enough to lead him then lose him in the station corridors, you just have to listen to his footsteps. Why people are trying to fight him is beyond me, even if I was new to the game I think I'd figure out I was wasting my time pretty quickly.

Considering the game even tells you during loading screens that conventional ammo is basically useless against Mr X I'd have to say that YouTuber was a pillock.?

Finished Claire's B run today, back to being a bit slow again for some reason... Getting those saves down though. Also managed to clear The 4th Survivor mode... That was actually pretty intense, I was led to believe you were fucked if you made it to the courtyard without a Grenade, well somehow I managed it.? I absolutely adore this game and Capcom have exceeded all of my expectations... But I will say I wish there were a few more meaningful changes in the scenarios, there's no different deaths for certain characters in the A and B runs like there were in the original, it's pretty much the same campaign save the true ending. If Capcom ever do decide to Remake the third game I think they could have something seriously special on their hands, it's a more straight forward campaign... Yes it has the branching paths but they all lead to the same places. Anyway, gonna start mixing up my playtime with other stuff again now... Although I think I feel a Hardcore playthrough calling....

Is that why they were there @DANGERMAN... I didn't know they had a fear of those things. @bellow.... Now I know this is entirely dependent on ammo so if you're out of Flame rounds then put bluntly you're shit outta luck... One flame round to put in on ground, one more to finish them off.

Ha, it seems using the original costumes with Claire does actually put Sherry in to her 98 clothes which is pretty cool... It doesn't look quite as stupid in this either. So far Claire's B run has been nowhere near as bad as Leon's, her weapon load out is so much better... Leon has nothing that can one shot a Licker (unless it's a Lightning Hawk headshot.... sometimes) Here's me trying to recreate one of the iconic moments of the original... This one's for you @OCH

Leon A down... Things are starting to sink in with routes and stuff now, that time includes doing everything (gun upgrades, packs and stuff like that) so if I can knock out that I should be good for an S rank. Managed to beat the Tyrant with a good six minutes left on the clock too, which given the fact I had over forty Lightning Hawk bullets shouldn't come as a surprise. Claire B now... That should give me the Unbreakable knife.... Then it'll be the decision on whether to go Hardcore or try for the S rank achievements.?

Outbreak 1 and 2 I'm pretty certain is a no, never played more than about an hour of Gun Survivor so I have no idea.
