It’s been days since the Nintendo direct but thanks to P1P for pointing out, my gosh, a new game from one of the key people behind the Goemon series was featured in the JP Nintendo Direct.

Mystical Ninja starring Goemon is one of my all timers.

Looks just how you’d imagine from the minds of Mystical Ninja. Hope it gets English language as an option.

Holy shit

I never heard of this before. Like @mmmark was saying this is so Goemon! I’m so excited!

It’s coming out 3rd September!! Gimme the game, I need it

I remember John from DF I think mentioning this when it got announced, never expected it to come out over here.

Tried the demo earlier and really enjoyed it. Very charming Gamecube-style title with a funny twist on combat and a lot of wacky ideas surrounding it, plus very much engrained with Japanese folklore and titbits, giving it some minor educational value as well.

Bit of a shame it's a digital-only release but I might make an exception for this one.

Good to hear it plays well. I’ve watched the trailer 3 times since yesterday. There’s so much variety and it all looks really well done

It's been out in Japan for a while, so that physical version unfortunately only has Japanese language on it.

I'm going to pick it up later, there's too much going on right now and I just protest-bought Visions of Mana, too.

Good point. But if I like it as much as I think I’m going to I want the cartridge anyway

Dude, I am hype. Can’t believe this and Astrobot come out in the same week

I try not to spam around the forum which SW1 games run better on SW2, but I think this is a good one to point out. It was one of those late-lifecycle releases that flew under the radar and ran at an unlocked framerate, so ideal material to revisit on Switch 2. I don't have the full version, but I went thruogh the demo again and it does indeed now hit its 60fps all the time, which was one of the only real points of criticism I saw levelled at it. Also looks surprisingly clean in handheld mode, even though I don't think it runs at its full 1080p.

But in any case, Switch 2 seems to be the platform to check it out. I think the publisher should put a bit of marketing effort behind it again, in the absence of a first-party platformer this could find an audience now.
