Maryokutai Posted August 31, 2024 Posted August 31, 2024 People who paid 110 bucks or more and lost their saves get a trinket and some UbiSoft coins: https://www.ign.com/articles/ubisoft-gives-annoyed-star-wars-outlaws-players-who-paid-to-play-early-but-lost-all-progress-a-trinket-and-some-loyalty-points-no-one-wants Bit of a half-assed attempt. Everyone who paid for the early access should get the difference between its price and the normal RRP back, at least those on PS5 (which seems the only platform to have the issue). Unfortunately this is probably the end of that story, as I doubt there's enough of those early adopters around for UbiSoft to really care.
Guest Posted September 4 Posted September 4 This guy wrote an article about how bad it is on switch 2 which others ran with but is now having to apologise because it’s a great port after all and everyone is like what what what!?!?! Bought it too myself. Have it on Xbox but my commute to work isn’t an Xbox soooo.
retroed Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Lots of outlets were reporting it to be a bad port, maybe an old build at Gamescom or something. Turns out it's very good, and only around 20GB too. Ordered from The Game Collection for £41.95 as I had a quid credit to use up. 1
Maryokutai Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Yeah, this looks quite impressive, I'm surprised Ubi didn't do more marketing and left the negative Nancys online going on a 'bad port' crusade. Then again it's at the top of the eShop charts right now so might be doing fine regardless. Wish it wasn't a Game Key Card though. But I'll put it on my wishlist, maybe they'll have a good deal on the digital version somewhere down the line.
Maryokutai Posted September 5 Posted September 5 I'll buy it. The explanation, that is, not the game – for that I'm still waiting for a sale.
Maf Posted September 5 Posted September 5 The irony is Game Key cards is the best avenue for a digital sale. They seem to drop in price quite quick as opposed to the e-shop 1
Maryokutai Posted September 5 Posted September 5 I think the part I find most impressive is that unlike Witcher 3 on Switch 1 for example, which (as much as I enjoyed it) was a bit of an ugly duckling, I think this still looks genuinely good on Switch 2. Particularly if you remove comparison shots and just evaluate what you see on its own terms.
Maf Posted September 5 Posted September 5 Pretty brilliant, really. Probably the best port on the system outside of maybe Cyberpunk Makes me excited for what Nintendo will do when they have true games made from the ground up for the device (I think both MKW and DK were confirmed to start as Switch 1 games) Essentially I’m hoping they do a 3D Zelda game that has this kind of graphics fidelity. It would be amazing
Maryokutai Posted September 9 Posted September 9 First patch out already: https://www.ubisoft.com/en-gb/game/star-wars/outlaws/news-updates/5d48mFSwXrfRnDvvBmOl7F/nintendo-switch-2-title-update-1 I guess even if there was a physical that'll have made it obsolete by now. I wonder how impactful the reduced pop-in is, because that was its only major visual blemish before.
